This one is really 4.5 stars. I read a year ago and really liked it. The book is short, novella length, and I wished there was more worldbuilding in it. That really was the only thing lacking. I loved Logan and Gray - they were two great characters, and the chemistry was amazing between them. I loved that Gray wanted to make changes in the pack when he became leader someday, and how he never took advantage of the Unfree. For such a short book, the author managed to pack in a lot of internal conflict and genuine emotion, in addition to extremely hot sex scenes. Gray and Logan were just...wow! together. They were clearly meant to be together. If you're in the mood for a short, hot m/m erotic romance, one heavy on sex and emotion, then I highly recommend this book.

This was an amazing read. It was not only a mate-bond story with a slight twist, A.D. Christopher also built an interesting world, gave us great characters and some very hot sex.
Dawson is depserately trying to be the leader of his wereleopard pride that everyone expects him to be. For this, he must prove immune to seduction by another man so that he can claim the female mate ne needs to become leader.
Logan, an Unfree slave, is the one man Dawson has always had trouble resisting. And this time Logan is desperate because not only is his only chance to be free to become the warrior-mate of a pride member but he is also deeply and desperately in love with Dawson.
The ensuing battle of wills is as entertaining as it is hot. Both men are strong characters and very stubborn - the sex between them explosive. I really hope there will be a sequel to this much too short and very fun read.

I know, I know. This is not the genre I’m used to read but this is how I came *giggle* to read this book. My friend had just read it and was all squealing and telling me that I had to read it. So you can know what went down I’ll give you the talk that convinced me to read this book that is out of my reading box. Figuratively speaking.
Picture the girl blond and the guy with curly hair. Oh, I’m the girl BTW LoL
My Friend – Oh, my gosh I just read this book and it’s A-MA-ZING. You just have to read it.
Me – Really, what’s about?
My Friend – It’s about an alternative world where the women are, like, super rare and then to a man get a women he has to, like, go naked on a stage in front a bunch of people and resist these superhot also naked guys stroking him and stuff. If he can resist he gets the girl.
Me – Uhum, but what happens if he fails?
My Friend – They go to the forest or something and mate and then they be like warriors mate. Oh, did I mention they where weres? Yep, they are and it’s so hot.*starry eyes*
Me – Ok, but no thanx.
My Friend – Why? *squealing*
Me – I’m not into erotic gay books. Do I need to remind you about the Brocken Back Mountain Episode? ( I really didn’t like the movie and got all bitchy about it)
My Friend – No. But this is totally different, it’s romantic and paranormal just the way you like it.
Me – How come? All I hear is a bunch of guys rubbing one another so the poor guy on the stage get a stiff and lose the girl he wants to marry. This sounds a little mean to me.
My Friend – No, this’s not that at all. See, this slave called Logan, drop dead sexy BTW, is in love with Gray.
Me – Gray? *giggle*
My Friend –Shut up. I mean the guy on the stage buck naked who is sexy as hell too. So, he loves Gray and this is his chance to get close to him, really close to him *wink* but what he doesn’t know is that Gray is in love with him too.
Me – Oh, but then what’s he doing up there?
My Friend – Gray is the oldest of his family and he needs to get the girl so he’s family can have more heirs and stuff like that.
Me – So is not like he really likes girls?
My Friend – No, he does. All the man like it, but they are attracted to man as well and since there’s more guys then girls is natural for a guy to hook up with other guy.
Me – I’m still waiting for the part where this story is just the way I like it.
My Friend – Ok., ok, Miss Smarty Pants. Logan is a slave and if he gets Gray to take him as his mate he gets his freedom, but at the same time he wants Gray because he loves him and this has nothing to do with freedom or duty. This is a love story like you never read before.
Me – This is not fair, you said the magic words (Like you’ve never read before). But I’m not into erotic man on man action. I get all squeaky to read the what going into what. *making a face*
My Friend – The romance is so heart breaking that the sex gets in second plan and besides, I tough that you liked the same thing I do, guys. Super duper gorgeous, drop dead sexy, super hot, blowing your mind guys.
Me – What you’re talking about? *chuckle and a little glassy eyed with the description* I do like guys. *chocked face* I like it as much as any gay guy.
My friend – Then this is even more perfect cose they are all guys. Non stopping description of hot guys and their perfect six pack. This Is like every girl-with-a-gay-man-trappet-inside dream book.
Me – Shut up. *giggle* I’ll read it.
Ok, this was pretty much the sweet talk my friend used for me to read this book and I have to say, is not as wonderful as he said, but it’s a pretty good book. Even the sex parts are kind of romantic and sensible. The plot not that convincing, but it’s one. It’s a short story but the writing is really good and has a great flow to it. I see emotions on the characters and I have to say that I was really cheering for the guy to get the guy. Sorry ladies, but this time I had to take the guy’s side. I couldn’t stay in the way of their true love. Aside from the love story we see also the pressure to be what everyone wants you to be, the fight to keep what you want in secret and choose between your happiness and the happiness of the one you love.
But lets not forget that this is an erotic book and yes, I’ve got 50 shades of purple from here till next week with the sex parts. But the real question is, Did I get groused out by it? The answer is No, I didn’t. And that’s why I kept reading, the writing was so not descriptive in a eww kind of way and got the romance and feeling on the spot. So I was like, “Oh, he loves him. “ *sigh* Burning cheeks, but butterfly on my stomach.

In a world where female are very rare, same sex relationship are normal and only the proudest of the pride can claim a female. Other men will have a warrior-mate and maybe even a pretty good life. But not for Gray. Gray has to mate with a female to ensure the conitinuing of their line.
Every male from 15 years old to 25 years old has to pass a test every year. In publich they have to resist the temptation of ten men, one after the other. The men are Unfree, slaves of the Pride-born. If an Unfree manages to tempt a Pride-born, he can claim him as a warrior-mate and gain the freedom from slavery. And this year, the last of the test for Gray, Logan tempts him...
The story is pretty short, less than 70 pages, but I have like it a lot. I can catalogue it in the section, pure sex and mind-free reading for when you need to be distracted from reality. And this story is pretty good in doing this job. Hard body and rough sex: a good pair.
Gray should be the main character of the story, the alpha male who fight and win, but in this world, fight and win means not surrender to mind blowing sex with a beautiful man, so it's not wonder that Gray is not so eager to win, and everytime he convinces himself to be able to resist to temptation, the second after he is deeply involved with Logan. And Logan is not the classical submissive, nothing in him is submissive, he is instead very strong and affermative. But he knows what he wants and when he is with Gray, he can "allow" to the man to be in command.
So a good story, with the interesting characters, a lot of sex and not much plot (but with the sex, you don't need it...)

Not sure I liked those rules and contests. Not sure I liked the slavery part. Not sure I liked the things Logan had to do to get Gray. Not sure about anything in this story really. While I was entertained with their romance, I didn't really understand their actions or the world they lived in. Only interesting part was the sex and only a little bit. I would've enjoyed it more if I had liked or known the couple better.

3.5 stars Wait, what? Is my copy missing a chapter? Is this book 1 of a series that I can't find? It could not have ended like that. Could it? No, that's just crazy talk. I want my final chapter!!

Hot and passionate, but it doesn't lit the right sparks in me. I guess it's because of the dubious consent feel of the story.

This one was really good, the only thing i had a problem with was that it was too short, i would have loved it if it continued, the third of this series was good too but not as good as this one, i do recomend it. i did not read the second. but those characters are featured a little in the third one.

It's very difficult to find well written shifter books. Trust me, I hunt for them all the time. Luckily my hunt panned out! I love the necessary temptation! The characters, the world building, the bond that strengthens between the MC's throughout the story really pulls you into their world for a wild ride. I've read all the books in the series. Hands down this is the best one. Happy reading!

3.5 stars. Cute story about pride politics, a shifter on the verge of taking over the pack, and an Unfree or slave who chooses him for his warrior-mate. Could have been longer and more drawn out, especially Gray's acceptance of Logan and their warrior-mate status, as well as what happened when they fessed up to the tribe.

This shifter story started out piping-hot, but cooled down to a slow simmer. Two big males claiming each other as mates is always nice to read, but the ending was rushed. A decent read~
