Nora Matthews is an elementary school teacher with the ability to predict her students' futures through sensations she calls twinges. About the author

Tammy Marshall is a lifelong Nebraska resident, but she hopes to live seaside someday. She's a retired high school language teacher and fine arts coach. She raised two of her own children and was a host-mom to seven exchange students. She's a proud member of the American Legion Riders and grabs any opportunity to get out on her 2013 Harley-Davidson Super Glide. She's a world traveler, a feature writer and columnist for a local newspaper where she writes about books, a blogger, an avid reader with a penchant for the Pulitzer Prize winners of fiction, and she's been known to dabble in stand-up comedy. Her writing is varied as she enjoys penning novels, short stories, poetry, essays, plays, columns, and her blog posts. She loves to swim and to make watercolor paintings and bookmarks. She's fluent in Spanish, and she's working hard on becoming conversant with Italian.

I came across this book mentioned in a Facebook group that no longer exists (RIP to the hella toxic Book Hangout Spot) by the author. I thought it sounded interesting and a bit different than I would normally read, so I downloaded it on KU to give it a try.

While I did enjoy the book, I feel like the synopsis is a bit misleading. The last line makes it sound like the main character will try to change the path that the kid is on, but that wasn't really what happened in the story.

I'm not much of a thriller reader (is it a thriller? I'd say so), but I'm glad I found the book. It had an interesting premise and kept me invested throughout.

Nora Matthews is an elementary school teacher who gets these twinges about her students. Over her years of teaching she has had them for multiple students and for the most part they have come true.

It all works well until one day Nora gets a twinge about Jermey that suggests serial killer. The stories follows Nora’s life as she goes from a young teacher to married to adopting a little boy all while having this haunting feeling that Jeremy is lurking. She is right. For some unknown reason, he is. He wants her punished for something she can’t figure out. The question will be whether he will get to her to somebody she loves first.

Not my usual genre, but I loved this local author’s first book so thought I would give Twinges a try. I am so glad I did. I could not put this book down. I am definitely recommending Twinges to my friends.

Wonderfully written
Story and characters pulled me in.
I read through it quickly because I had to know the ending.
