HILLBILLY HORROR THAT'S GONE OFF ITS MEDS.

Melba Daniels has been receiving telepathic messages from movie star Rex Virgil for years. Why is it only now that he's invited her to meet him in person again? Well...she hasn't been taking her drugs, for one, (don't tell her parole officer that, now), which makes his messages come through loud and clear.

But avoiding her meds means she'll be seeing a whole hell of a lot more of the Gray Man. Turns out the faceless entity is the real reason Rex has picked now to elope with his long-distance tonight is the night. The night to shake loose of its clutches. All Melba's got to do is offer up three sacrifices, and just like that, she's free of her torment for good.

Now she's just gotta make damn sure that her cousin, Becky June, ain't meant to be one of the dead.

Regina Watts is an an absolute goddess of femdom fiction who loves writing torrid smut about the corruption of innocent girls and boys by wicked, more experienced young ladies and depraved older men--and if those dirty old men get what's coming to them at the hands of those same corrupted youths, even better. From kinky experimentation to twisted taboos, nothing is too extreme for Regina. Check her out on twitter @WritesWatts or follow Painted Blind Publishing's website for more information about her work, whether it's erotic fiction or transgressive literature.

*Author's Note: Pay no attention to my Goodreads genres I noticed they didn't include 'erotica' as a category and got a lil passive aggressive lmao

IDOL by Regina Watts is unique, I loved it!!
This story is about mental illnesses, and the drama and violence they can cause.
But I’m not certain about my analysis. The end of this tale, changed everything I thought I understood.
The writing is good, the characters are very complex and very well developed. The plot is captivating . I never read a story like that. It makes me question my sanity. At the end I didn’t know what was real or wasn’t.
I highly recommend it!

DNF at 26%. Full transparency here…I made it 26% into this book and still could not get a lock on what any of the characters were doing or what was going on. It’s rare when I get this disoriented reading a story, but it’s never a good sign. I can’t say much here because the characters seemed to be in and out of reality, under the influence of narcotics at times, with some semblance of a mental illness going on, too. So I have 0 takeaways from my experience. I can’t even offer constructive criticisms, either. I have no idea what I just read. And, sure, sometimes books kind of keep you on the hook and things come together, but at near 300 pages, I absolutely could not make it through another 200 pages here. Some readers may be really into this type of story, but it is not to my personal preference.

Idol is a love story like no other, spanning across dimensions and time. The amount of twists and turns left me breathless as Melba Daniels meets up with her star crossed lover, movie star Rex Virgil. This isn’t your typical horror book, while there is blood and death sprinkled throughout the story, the real horror is Melba’s mental illness and the truth behind her and Rex’s relationship. It’s unsettling and often times I found myself holding my breath as I turned pages, not prepared for what could happen next. Additionally, with Melba being the unreliable woman she is thanks to her schizophrenia, it made things hard to guess which direction any situation would go.

I could feel my heart race and my stomach drop as I traversed this world Regina created. I’m a big fan of her work, but this one really made me feel emotions very few other books have brought about. I felt horrified, I felt sympathy for the things Melba goes through, and I became excited when she does. It takes a rare sort of talent to throw the reader into someone else’s shoes, especially someone so unique as Melba.

Idol slow burns its way towards a finale that I didn’t see coming. I won’t spoil it at all, but HOLY HECK. The epilogue and little bonus chapter after wards tied it all together perfectly, and I appreciate knowing what came about from this horrific night.

Ok….. first of all… HOLY FUCK!

This was insanely awesome!

Second: I am speechless.

This book is definitely not what l thought it would be. And the ending.. ok, I am officially in love with Regina Watts now!

This was quite a ride. Melba has some mental issues and she is getting messages from her favorite movie star Rex. So she is going on a vacation at the same lake where he is, and she is taking her cousin with her. Then things are going wrong left and right. And the ending… the ending is… well, you need to read it to find out. It’s perfect!

MELBA DANIELS is ILL (and not in that Good RAP way). She is disturbed. She's a FAN GIRL of one REX VIRGIL.

Its one of those books that the GRAY MAN has taken over her mind.

And she's been turned out by REX when she was a teenager.

This is a stone cold Psychological Thriller frum REGINA WATTS who has come up wit yet anutha game changer.

Mental Illness/Psychosis/Sex/Violence/Thirstiness. Its all here.

This book also speeks to the disturbed individuals hoo THIRST 2 B round Celebrity Culture hoping to connect. And when they do, just like wit SERENA and JOHN HINCKLE nem krazy ass SHIT. GOES. WRONG!!

Meanwile, Im rooting for MISS WATTS to be a break-thru at some point. Also read INDUSTRIAL DIVINITY.

Thank Me later.

Few books make me recoil and nearly put them down due to descriptive horror. This one has a few of those scenes but I had to know how it ended so I gritted my teeth and kept reading. For fans of Hostel and The Cabin in the Woods. Dark, violent, otherworldly and at times the author smashes through the horror with a bit of humor (which also kept me going). I’m not convinced the gray man is gone in the least…
