Could time seem to run forward yet take discrete hops backward?

What if a very high energy experiment accidentally caused a volume of space around the Earth to experience time in what seems like the normal fashion but with a 'hop' backward of 48 hours at the end of each 24 hour day?
Instead of repeating the same day like the movie Groundhog Day, almost everyone on Earth thinks time is passing in the usual fashion but an outside observer can see the evidence of the effective backward hops.
Effective research becomes especially difficult because the researchers have to rediscover the problem every day.
A couple of grad students discovered an artifact on which their future selves can leave notes to help their past selves learn what they have discovered.
In the notes at the end of the book Brandon provides summaries of some of the recent theories about how space and time work. In case your brain hasn't turned into mush comprehending the forward/backward story lines, the notes may finish the task.

Highly recommended for those who want real science in their "what if" stories.

This is definitely a HARD sci-fi book series. I gave up trying to absorb and understand the constant time shifts the characters describe and then all the scientific quantum mechanics, etc. the author throws in here. I finished Mobius 1 and just finished Mobius 2.

The story line construct, sans the physics, etc., was interesting and at times humorous dialogue between the main characters. But, I'm not going to suffer through Mobius 3 (which I have under Kindle unlimited and will return it). I love science but this is not my cup of green tea.

I almost didn't want to write a less than 5 star review but felt it important enough for other potential readers to let them know what they are getting into with this series.

More of the story behind the Timeless artifact is revealed

Max and Liz reached Mars in the 22nd Century shortly after being on Earth in 2028. Artem meanwhile is still on Earth. Between them they investigate the origin of the time quake and artifact and uncover a potential conspiracy as Penrose' reach is revealed. However a last minute surprise may mean a truce will need to be made....
More intrigue, peril, romance, mystery ensue as the two disparate tales interwine. An engaging middle story that leaves the reader eager for the next installment.

Another great story from Mr Morris

It seemed to take longer than usual for the story to get interesting, but once it did, I was shocked to so quickly be at it's end. Can't wait for the next installment. Had to read book one twice to get a better grip on the backward time thing, but it made this part much easier to follow.

I’m realizing this very well may have been written in a different language… The description is in German and I’m only able to find the third book in German at this point. That might explain some of the wooden dialogue and the overall feeling that it’s just not the best translation. I still think the story is interesting.

Mind boggling , and insanely fun.

I am trying to learn German which for me is not that easy. You might think that a simplier story or easier language level would be the way to go. Not true for me. The story is fascinating, the vocabulary is challenging and I am just having lots of fun.also

story. Was a great page turner. Tough to put down.

I think this is Brandon's best work.

Fun read

This book is enjoyable and well written. The paradox of time travel is ever present but you are reading a book about time moving backwards.

enjoyed book—looking to read #3

Not fond of 24 he time quantization and waking up previous day. There would be an extremely disrupted living situitation at the least.
