Courage County Brides #1

The Cowboy’s Bride

Rate this book
The only way out of my horrible life is to become a mail order bride. But will my new cowboy husband be willing to take a chance on love?

Tia

I’m trying to start my life over as someone new. But with no skills or education, my options are pretty limited. Until I see the ad to become a mail order bride.

Suddenly, I have hope. Maybe I can escape and live free. The only problem is I’m pretty sure my husband doesn’t like me at all. The more time I spend with him, the more I can’t help falling in love. But will my new cowboy husband break my heart?

Ranger

Grandpa was a diehard romantic. The kind of guy who believed in forever and soulmates. Too bad he’s made marriage a condition for inheriting the family ranch.

Now I’m stuck with a mail order bride.

I didn’t expect my bride to be so young and innocent. I didn’t expect this age gap or the things her curves would do to me. I certainly didn’t expect to be attracted to her. But will a beautiful, curvy woman like Tia be willing to accept a disfigured, grumpy cowboy like me?

The Scott Brothers are fierce cowboys in need of mail order brides so they can claim their rightful inheritance. But that’s not the only thing these rough and dirty cowboys plan to claim! Each book in the Courage County Brides series is standalone with NO cheating and NO cliffhangers. Just a sweet, sexy HEA so you can get your swoon on.

Paraplegia

This was a very sweet short story, so please don’t take this wrong… Ranger is a Paraplegic and when I read their first coupling it sent me directly to Google. I needed to know how sexual intercourse works when you are a Paraplegic. Of course I knew the most logical position, but it said Ranger went from Lunch at the “Y” to “Get on top of me” with way too much ease. My imagination was all over the place. I'm not saying it would be physically impossible because it sounded like he was in great physical shape and with plenty of muscles. I guess it should have said he lifted her with ease to get her repositioned, or something to explain it. In the final scene the story says Ranger got Tia a book on different positions. I mean seriously how many different positions can there be for him to get in? I guess more research is needed... LOL

Okay Read

Great Read!

I think this is the second book I’ve read from Mia Brody where the hero is disabled and I am here for it! She does such a fantastic job. I absolutely loved this book and I love a virgin hero!

This was an awesome love story 😍😍😍 Tia needs to hide from her old life in a cult and Ranger needs a wife to fulfill the terms of his grandfathers will. Both of them had a rough life this far and are self-conscious and shy because of it. It was beautiful to read how they fell for each other 🥰🥰🥰 Insta love, sweet, romantic, totally safe(heck yes double virgins❤️❤️) and with a sweet HEA😍😍😍 Now I need to know how the other Scott men fell for their women👍👍👍

Sweet Double V

Tia is a runaway who is looking for a better life and signs up to be a mail order bride. Ranger is a businessman and ranch boss who is forced to marry or lose the ranch, so he agrees to the set-up mail order bride. Both have troubled pasts and can’t quite seem to believe that someone could want them as they are, a little broken. Fake marriage, initial attraction, and miscommunications ensue, until the 2 begin to really see each other and open to the possibility of their real HEA. This is a stand-alone but is part of a series in which each brother finds his HEA with a mail order bride to save the family ranch.

Favorite Quote: “I won’t let my brokenness become hers. I’ll fight every day for the rest of time to make sure that my darkness never extinguishes her light.”

A wonderful quick read!! So much love in this book but I wanted more. I really enjoyed the fact that Ranger has a disability but it wasn't his whole personality and what was even better Tia didn't think anything of it. She just loved him for who he is!!

Really good book

I was not expecting the hero to be in a wheelchair, that was unexpected but not unwelcome.

The couple: Ranger and Tia

Romance trope: mail order bride
Series: Courage County Brides
Length: 89 pages

Plot: Ranger's grandfather has died and left his ranch to Ranger and his brothers...if they all get married. He's even set them up with a matchmaker service and Ranger's bride will arrive shortly. Ranger wants a plain woman who will accept him - a man in a wheelchair. Instead, he gets beautiful Tia. Tia's on the run from her father and the leader of the cult that her father wants her to marry. She's newly turned 18 and this marriage is her chance. It seems that Ranger doesn't like her much though, and he's convinced she doesn't want a real marriage. If they can resolve their miscommunication, they could have something really special.

Commentary: There was a lot of miscommunication here, that's all. I mean, aside from the cult wanting Tia back and Ranger dealing with his inheritance issues. It was mostly miscommunication between the couple, and why wouldn't there be? They just met and now they're as closely connected as any two people can be. Still I liked this one. The characters were thoughtfully written and the rest of the series (with the other brothers) was set up without the reader feeling like the book was just a vehicle for the series and not an actual story of one couple. I'm so glad Tia and Ranger got their happy ending!

Review:
This is the exciting first installment in the Courage County Brides series. The Scott Brothers must navigate challenging choices after their grandfather’s passing, which comes with a surprising stipulation tied to their inheritance. This book highlights Ranger’s journey as he finds love through a mail order bride matchmaking service.
Ranger is a determined cowboy facing his own struggles, while Tia is a shy young woman ready to step out of her comfort zone. Together, they will embrace their differences and cultivate the understanding and compassion necessary to build a strong and meaningful marriage.

Mia Brody is a passionate writer who boldly embraces the challenge of creating characters with disabilities and chronic illnesses. She masterfully crafts relatable characters that resonate with her readers.

A Noiva Do Cowboy

Super-Hiper-Ultra-Mega-Power recomendado!

Nice quick read

I wasn't sure what I was reading at first, but gave it 5 Stars anyway. You wouldn't think looking at the cover of the book that Ranger was a paraplegic from birth due to the lack of oxygen and his mother dying. His father wanted nothing to do with the boy so he fell into the system.

His mail-order bride seems to come from some cult, not exposed to the real world. Women in this type of setting are belittled and looked down upon. Rebecca (aka Tia) wants a chance at a better life and decided to sign up as a mail-order bride. She has a lot to learn.

Tia recreated herself. Like a butterfly, broken through the darkness to discover her wings. But as a new bride with a virgin husband, there is still so much they need to learn together.

It's only too bad her sad excuse of a father finds her, demanding she returns with him, but Tia is having none of that. Keep reading!

This is the first story I’ve ever read about a cowboy in a wheelchair, which sparked my interest from the start. Not only is this an ode to triumphing over adversity, but it’s an uplifting story about two people who find their soulmates, who they know will stand by their side no matter what life throws at them. Their initial meeting conveyed how awkward and scary it must be to meet a stranger who you’ve committed to marry perfectly and both make certain assumptions when they meet that start them off on the wrong foot. Tia is not only an innocent, but virtually untouched by the real world, having grown up in a closed, religious community, and so the encounter would have been even more stressful for her. Both characters have their own insecurities and it was so sweet to see them slowly look beyond the surface to the real person underneath. The story is an affirmation of how love conquers all.

Excellent short story! 5 Stars ⭐️

- Mail order bride
- Curvy, new adult MFC
- Wheelchair bound MMC
- 2 virgins embarking on marriage

Tia: Brave, hopeful, & so innocent it’s almost painful. Escaping her life of being the next bride to a religious cult leader, Tia forced herself to waits until the day she turns 18 to marry Ranger

Ranger: Sweet, caring, and strong Ranger must marry in order to inherit his recently deceased grandfathers ranch. Ranger doesn’t believe that any woman could ever love him due to his condition and he has the emotional scarring to prove it.

Grandfathers plan to make his 8 grandsons marry could have gone so incredibly wrong, but, these 2 characters could not be any sweeter for one another.

I love Tia’s innocence and determination!
I enjoyed learning about Rangers wish to find real/true love, even against the odds of having to marry a mail order bride,

These 2 characters have so much hope for a brighter & happier future!

Ranger is the businessman of the ranch. He's fit and gorgeous, and happens to need a wheelchair due to inability to use his legs. In order to secure his inheritance, he must wed by a certain date. Tia is desperate to escape her cult upbringing and her abusive father. The two of them need the security of a marriage, and quickly. Enter the mail-order bride service.

This is a neat series premised on eight foster brothers having to marry in order to inherit their land, a ranch on which all of them found safety and security as troubled, desperate children. Their late grandfather, who outlived the foster parents, contracted with a mail-order bride service to ensure his wishes were carried out. There is so much to this series I tore through it one book after another. Very much recommended for those who love steamy cowboy romance books.

Sweet romance, miscommunication at the start but they quickly opened up to each other.
Biggest complaint is Ranger is in a wheelchair and described as having some type of scarring - he has a flashback where someone called him Krueger leading me to believe he has burn scars or something but we don’t get any other answers as to what his injuries are other than that he’s been in a wheelchair his whole life due to complications from his birth. If he does have scarring, the cover is not accurate to his character description which isn’t a big deal in the scheme of things but it’d be nice to see some representation. There was some minor conflict with her father but it was resolved super fast. Would have rated this story a bit higher if it had been developed a bit more and if we didn’t have to sign up for a newsletter to get the epilogue.

The perfect blend of sweet and spicy

My first book by this author. I love that the hero and heroine are "imperfect", yet it is not the focus of the story. Curvy girl novels often have the woman berating herself every page and looks to the hero to validate her worth. NOT THIS TIME. This author acknowledges the very realistic concerns we all have when our lovers see our flaws, and moves on. It is an insta love trope, but it is done very well so I was good with it. I mean, do we read and watch fiction for the facts? I don't mind insta love if it is written with a rich well told story. And this is exactly that, even as short as it is. This book was a perfect light read, and I am grabbing the rest of the series as soon as I finish typing this review.

This was a decent short read for me. I did enjoy the background of Tia. I felt that was an interesting twist. I also found the fact that Ranger was in a wheelchair was interesting. I really did feel both sides and all their misunderstandings. I thought Ranger was so sweet to Tia and the author did a great job of explaining how sheltered Tia was. It lost me a little on how much we had to explain sex and feelings. I feel the author did a great job at explaining it but for me it was just not something I really enjoyed reading about. We went from explaining the pain she was having to looking at a book with different positions. It just jumped a little too much for me. All in all, it was a decent read to pass the time to get to the next book.

Mail order brides in 2022 are hard to pull off but Mia Brody did it and did it well! A romantic, medeling, grandfather left the ranch to his grandsons in his will as long as they all got hitched … he even signed them up for mail order brides.
I loved the vulnerability that both Tia and Ranger had. Even though they both had different backgrounds, having trauma, even if it was different allowed for it to make space for compassion.
This was really sweet. I love a great cowboy story! I cannot wait to meet the other brothers!

Quick Read, But So Good

Gimme all the mail order brides. This has to be my favorite trope. I loved the representation in this book. Just wished the cover reflected the hero properly. Ranger was a lonely, paralyzed cowboy who thought he wasn't worthy of love; especially because he was a foster child. Tia is barely 18, running away from a very strict religious sect in the mountains. Her father had plans to marry her off to the sect's leader. Their love story included books and two virgins. I loved it.

wow 🤩

Mia this is a great series, I read book three, first because it was connected with another book Mia Brody wrote (Romancing the Sheriff). I kept going and then decided to go back and read the first two books. This one was so good. Ranger was what any woman would want. He might be in a wheelchair but it never stopped him. Tia was basically raised in a cult and was escaping the life her father planned for her. She became a mail-order-bride. She thought Ranger hated her but it was so far from the truth. Great read. Now on to Logan’s story.

Such a sweet heartwarming read! 5 ⭐️!
Loved the representation on both characters and how they learned about themselves and about love together.
Tia was the sweetest and always willing to learn even while scared of leaving her cult, loving and adoring her husband just the way he was. Ranger had a hard time finding himself worthy of love because of his disabilities and past traumas but the way he always went out of his way to give the best marriage and life to his wife was just perfection.
Loved the book and def want more from this author!

Disappointing. This could have been so much more, but instead we get poor descriptions of everything and everyone, and a "plot" that brushes over every issue without resolving any of it, not really. And this, supposedly, "best" matchmaking agency doesn't seem to run even the most basic background check on the brides they send. I mean, if this girl could lie so easily (and by the blurb in the next installment so does the next girl), then a con-artist can easily make her way through their client base. Wouldn't trust these people with the time of day, let alone my personal info.

This is really more of a novella than a novel which makes it a quick, but an enjoyable read. I don’t usually go for the mail-order trope, but this series kept showing up in my feed and it seemed to have good reviews. The mail-order thing seems to be the thread that connects the series. It was a sweet story with some spice. Because it was so short, the plot moved quickly and there were plot points that were skimmed over and not deeply developed which felt like a missed opportunity. However, if you take it for what it is, it’s an enjoyable read.

probably one of the best mail-order bride books out there

This was the most progressive, feminist mail-order bride book I’ve ever read, which feels like an odd thing to say. I loved the empowered and emphasis placed on women’s pleasure.

It was honestly a very cute read, but way too short. I want to read book 2 but I have a thing against paying $3 for a book less than 100 pages…

The Cowboy's Bride (Courage County Brides #1) by Mia Brody – Their grandfather’s will tells them they have to accept a mail order bride in order to receive their share of the ranch or it gets sold at auction. The first of the brothers knows the pretty and innocent Tia has secrets, but these two lonely souls are so sweet together! If you like cowboys and modern mail order brides, this was darling! Happy Reading!

Butterfly

Mia Brody drew me into this short story from the opening page to the last. Tia is Range’rs mail order bride and each is just what the other needs to find love, security, and their Happily Ever After. I’m looking forward to the stories of each of these 8 ranchers that grew up as foster brothers in the Courage County Bride series. Pick up your copy today and enjoy this mix of sweet and spicy love.

Hot

Ranger and Tia story was very hot. Tia is running scared and Ranger doesn't think he's worthy. Ranger and his 7 brothers are made to marry in order to keep the family ranch or it will be sold off. Tia is so shy she thinks Ranger doesn't want her. Things soon turn hit and heavy. I couldn't put this book down. I loved it.
