Rate this book

This book could have easily been a 4star, if properly written... but instead took all my good will not to abandon it; after 1/3 i had to pause for a long time and read something different to fight the boredom.

Two opposite worlds collide: on one side Inca tribes fighting eachother for the throne succession, on the other Francisco Pizarro and his crew of conquistadores, going back to Perú to find the mythical golden city. Well it feels as if the chapters of one or the other were written from two different writers.

I found a bit exhausting the constant use of Incas words without an explanation (is that a food, person, animal u are talking about?!?!?) which takes away the pleasure of reading about incas ceremonial and traditions.
The passivity of the main characters on both sides and the pace of events is just too slow.
As most pointed out there are also time jumps throughout 6 years that make it hard to follow the story, with characters disappearing and then coming back after years without really having a significant role.
The end doesn't compel me to read the following books in the saga.
