Plot Summary - This book is about you. about me. about all those who had the courage to rise from the ashes. the verses know what pain you went through. and how you overcame them. they celebrate you and your efforts. my wings lost their meaning after you’d left burnt them to ashes then rose the phoenix /rebirth.
My Review - Another short story book by Author Priyanka Bhatt after 'Minuscules'. The theme revolves around, as the title goes, rebirth from the ashes. Rising above after a great fall which would've almost broken you and left you in the grave. All in the sense of emotions (duh!). After reading Minuscules, this one is quite an improvement and like a second version of the book. The book talks in-depth about deprivation, scarring, trauma, resurrection, and rebirth. After completing this book and contemplating it for a while, I felt that pouring out emotions via any creative means is necessary when you simply can't talk about it. And mostly such books, where the author pens down their emotions and mental traumas via poetry are written by female authors. Yes, there are male authors as well. But I've seen very few of them. Being a male myself, I too write about my emotions but mostly I keep it to myself or share among my closed circle. I guess it's hard (still) for an XY-Chromosome human to share and openly talk about their emotions. But it's necessary at most. Not just for a single-gender but for all to open up and ease the situation they are passing through. In future, I do wish to read more poetry from a perspective of both, especially XY. For being one myself I know how hard it can get to share even among our closest.
Phoenix is a collection of poetry on love, heartbreak, destruction of self, how one emerges from adverse deals. Poems have been written in subtle ways, pointing out things and making a remark.
One of my favourite ones is a compulsion, In that poet has deeply expressed what we feel when we are with someone but without love. We are in physical relation but without love. It was so painful to read about some of the heartbreak and realistic theme poetry.
Poetries were expressed freely, and it is relatable too. And a good read to spend some calm evening with.
Pheonix " by Priyanka Bhatt is a powerful flow of stanzas expressing romantic and self love interspersed with beautiful abstract art . The success of the message conveyed can witnessed in pattern of alternate art and poetry . It starts on a very personal note and a stuffled atmosphere that advances in way which leads to release of caged feelings and birth of "pheonix". Poems vary in length from a few short ones to some that are very long. Together, they cause the reader to reevaluate his or her conception of love in all its forms – the lover – the mother – acceptance of self , healing process and puts forwards the loop of being stuck in Love - hate - heal. The title speaks for itself with chapters demonstrating the true human feelings embedded in each one's life - at different stages - in different situations . The author contrives to address deprivations- scars-fall-rebirth . As one delves deeper you will wish to re- read each page ,each line ,each word as they relate perfectly in some way or the other . A masterpiece in itself , seems to touch and hit harder healing the scars and clearing dilemma of hearts. Beautifully penned down" pheonix " is a must read for all teens and those struggling with scars from past for " past is vindictive". Revolving around the love left incomplete and finding love in broken , each stanza presents a new struggle with a solution within . It urges to speak up for yourself , heal from the past and rise from the ashes .
A line that ensured a stronger pull was " I still find love in the broken no wonder I can find it in me"From the first touch to hug the yearning is strong which stirs emotinal connections. Be it physical longing or mental the author puts it all in appropriate shape .One encounters some personal incidents of author bringing forth a girl's attachment with father , longing for similar love in their partners. The vivid depictions and use of italicized words create a great emphasis. The rebirth and rise is encapsulated in its short final lines, “do not worry about the wreckage you may burn but will also reincarnate”. It's a book to treasure due to its strong expression strung in delicate words!

This is one of the best books I have read in months. The book is collection of poems. I have always wanted to read poetry but was never able to, they seemed so boring or I couldn’t understand them (maybe coz I always picked classics ). Anyway, this book is about anybody, it’s so relatable, so deep, so powerful, so empowering.
Priyanka has done a great job. She has put in her soul which reflects through the verses. It is divided into 4 parts the covers the different parts of the journey. And one of the best thing - the author has played very cleverly with the words. Subtle metaphors were the highlight for me.
When you feel broken, you think you’re starting to hit rock bottom, this is about every shit you went through in life and the time you feel it won’t ever get better. Then you start picking up the pieces again, slowly accepting everything around you. You really start to push yourself, you get better, you feel better, and one day you wake up and let it go. You let it all go. You let go of the negativity, the bitterness, the grudge you’ve been (unknowingly) holding. This is when you rise from the ashes; when you become a phoenix.
This book is about the journey - from the pain you went through, how it scarred you, how you overcame them, and came back stronger than ever. Some of the verses were so relatable, and the best part is that everyone will interpret the poems in their own meanings.
Highly recommended! It is not really long, I finished it in 2 sittings.
Sometimes all we want is a good cry, to pour out our sadness and let’s be clear - there is absolutely nothing wrong with being sad.
In fact that’s what sad poems are for! They help you to confront your emotions. They help you fill cracks in your heart. They provide an assurance that you aren’t the only sad ones. There were many like you and there will be many like you.
‘Phoenix’ by Priyanka Bhatt is a collection of poetry that revolves around the theme of deprivation, scarring, trauma, resurrection, and rebirth.
This collection walks the curving path between falling into oblivion and rising from the ashes. The mesmerizing lines by her beautifully encompasses the bittersweet beauty of life and love and change. It feels like each word, sentence, paragraph has a meaning to convey and is waiting for you to understand and relate. Her poems will help you heal your broken heart.
There’s an Insightful and introspective way to all the poems. I must say that of all the debut poetry books I have read in past 15 months, this one is the most promising.
This book is like a best friends hug on a gloomy and depressing day. It will fill you with warmth.
The intensity of emotion and feelings these poems convey is bound to generate an emotional response in you. The artwork in the book adds extra magic to its charm.
I would recommend this book to everyone who would love poems. Afterall we all could use a lot but if poetries in our life?
"Poetry is thoughts that breathe, and words that burn" -- Thomas Gray. And I could sense it all while reading this book.
The author has penned down her thoughts in such a lively manner that it feels like I can see her talking to me. She hasn't just written words, but poured her heart out.
I like reading poetry, though this was my first experience of reading a poetry book, and I am glad I read it. The way it is written makes you want to keep reading it. These are not merely words, they are emotions tied with a pen and poured out on these pages.
You can sense the author's pain through her words. Some of the verses were so relatable, so influential, so intense. As you keep reading, you will fall for the words more and more, the use of metaphors is so artful that you will want to read it again and again.
The book is carved up into four beautiful parts, each with a heart-touching title. This book is about everything you've ever felt or gone through in life. The title of the book justifies the contents, which describe how you were too broke to stand at times, but then you pulled yourself together and rose from the ashes, stronger and more fierce. The book is not too long; you can easily complete it in one go. Highly recommended for the love of poetry.
"Poetry is the food of love" says Mr.Darcy in Pride and Prejudice and I've never found this more relatable than in this book phoenix written by Priyanka Bhat. The first fifty pages is all about love, loss, relationship, breakups, abuse and lot more and it fills your heart as well as breaks it into pieces. But then comes the best part which talks about patriarchy, feminism and all things relatable as a woman, as a man and mostly as a human. Even though this is hardly the second poetry book that I've read, i can definitely conclude that it's one of the most beautifully written poetic work. The book artfully depicts that writing is the best remedy for lost love and broken heart. The pain of unrequited love is visible throughout the pages and one need not be a literary scholar to appreciate and relish in this beautiful book. I can see myself coming back to these words time and again to delve into them.
phoenix by Priyanka Bhatt is a collection of poems, divided into four sections where the poet compartmentalizes their work under lovelessness, hurt, a fall into oblivion, and finally, rising from the ashes. The structure takes the audience through the process of suffering and healing, and the author creates a narrative flow for the story that is told through these poems. **** The first-person perspective keeps things personal, which makes it more relatable for the reader. We are welcomed to the intimacy of the poet’s thoughts, who opens up herself, exposing her vulnerabilities. Her fearlessness to do so moulds her poems rather well. **** Despite all the good bits, I found that phoenix could have been a bit crisper. The overlapping emotions in the poems made things repetitive. A little harsher round of editing is required to resolve this issue. **** All in all, it is a good, breezy read. Bhatt, clearly, has a way with words, and I’d love to see what she does next.
As a fan of poetry i got connected to this book at a deeper level. Every word and every line written, carried certain amount of emotion in it . Poetry can make you feel loved and can make you feel devastated, its in the hands of poet. I don't know how many pages and lines i have marked for myself to read and read it again to feel the emotion again and again. This book has proved that not only the poetry on love can be heart touching but also poetry on a broken heart. I would like to appreciate the author about one major thing, that is eventhough the reader is not heart broken, he/she can feel every emotion of the narrator intensely. Here are my favorite lines: I stuck between cure and pain, drought and rain silence and noise sorrows and joys, departure and stay, hurry and delay, love and hate, life and death.
The title of the book "Phoenix" is the reason why i choose to read it in the first place. I have always believed in second chances and miracle. The idea of rising from the ashes has always been a great ideal of growth for me. This collection of poetry gave me immense power to believe in myself again. It motivated me to rise up and run towards my goal. This book has 4 parts, Each depicting a separate set of emotion. Its written in a very easy language and unlike the classics it can be easily comprehended. Each and every verse of the poem is relatable to some point in everyone's life. I highly recommend this book to everyone despite of their age. It brings forth a positive inflow and puts an end to the negative thinkings in our life. Thank you mam for this beautiful piece of literary art.
Phoenix by Priyanka Bhatt is a collection of short poems that navigate through themes of hurt, abuse, lost love, and hope. I had like the first book, Minuscules, by the author and was anticipating similar work in this book. Unfortunately, I did not much enjoy the poems in this book. The poems were written in a very Rupi Kaur -style, which was unfortunate- the themes were very similar and so was the writing style (example: not capitalizing first letters). The author’s original style, as was in the first book, was brilliant, innovative, and fresh. I feel that in taking inspiration from another poet, the author lost her unique style. ‘Wildfire’, and ‘What’s the time’ were my favorite poems. For other’s I wished a saw more of the author’s originality. I recommend the book to readers who enjoy short, at times dark poems, and are not too concerned with the structure of poetry.
"The Phoenix" written by @priyanka Bhatt is an amazing collection of Verses and poetry. These poetries are not just words, but they are somewhere part of our life. What makes this book special for me is the coverage of different emotions by the author like happiness, love, heartbreak, motivation, and a lot. The illustration added at the end of every poetry or verse gives meaning to the words. It's a unique self-healing book. Of many one of my favorite verses was- We are all chasing our dreams that keep changing with the passage of time last time I checked my dream was you not it's just better me.
Overall I would suggest you should go and heal yourself by adding this book to your reading list.

The versatility in the poems and the use of subtle metaphors, stirr a warm emotion and takes one through our own journey of heartbreak and healing. It's definitely one of the rare books you keep picking up once in a while and the poems will etch in your hearts. Highly recommended!
Phoenix, the first time I heard of it was when I was 11, watching my favourite Harry and Dumbledore together. Back then I managed to know it as a bird with some magical powers but the real meaning to the things I considered magical is highlighted in this book.
The book conveys message of life, love, peace, closeness and distance that a person experiences and of the battles that are fought within, the scars that it creates and yet remains unnoticed to our naked eyes, something that's responsible for all the strength that keeps us going and helps us grow.
I like how the verses have words and pictures mixed in appropriate proportions making it easy and super quick to read.

It would really be hard if I have to pick any of my favourite phrase from it. But yet if I had to choose one it would be “if you do not let it go it will claw its way up and scratch your wounds till they all bleed and cry out why us? “
I picked up this book for two reasons. - The name of the book intrigued me. - And poetry. 💁♀️
If you have read any books by Amanda Lovelace, you'll know that this book has very similar vibe to it. The book is divided into four parts. • When you are deprived of love • When you are scarred for life • When you fall into oblivion • When you rise from the ashes The book is a collection of poems about relationships, heartbreak, Love, loss, abuse, breakups and a lot more. It tears your heart into pieces and put it back together. It is written in such a beautiful and easy-to-understand language that no doubt you'd read it in one go.
This is my first time reading a book filled with beautiful words called "poems". Like yeah, I have read them during my school days but then the interest had been long gone for poems. This book hits different. It has all the elements in the book from love to abuse . It also has elements of heartbreak in it. "It’s more about the journey that you traverse than the destination you reach". I especially liked this phrase from the book since this has always been my motto. It shows how women are basically the patriarchy, feminism and all that follows. Personally ,I love this book and it is 138 pages of beautiful words stitched together.

Priyanka Bhatt has wonderfully penned down her thoughts through her poetry. If you are a fan of poetry, then this book is for you, because she has so beautifully poured out her heart and it felt like living her life with her.
This book has love, heartbreaks, relationship, feelings, etc. The poetries are so relatable. The book is great even for beginners. The metaphors are cleverly used and easily understandable.
"I smile and say I see you in me walk along the winding lanes and one day you’ll find me in you." 🔹Book was divided in four parts with heart touching title. 🔹This is a short book of tales of love, loss, heartbreak, depression, abuse and lot more. 🔹Book also talks about patriarchy and feminism and beautifully tells how to rise from ashes. 🔹Some tales were of only 2-3 lines and some were 1-2 page long. 🔹If you are looking for a light poetry read then you can pick this one. 🌻 Book cover is very pretty. 🌻
"and in the end you came back but it didn't matter anymore." 💕
So many phases a girl goes through in her life, Priyanka has successfully put those feelings in words. Even the sensuality has hidden tears. The work is a must read for the girls who feel broken and find it hard to move on.
If you feel like you've been burnt to ashes, thus book will tell you how to rise like a phoenix. Overall Rating:- 4/5
As a book lover of reading self motivated words, this is awesome to feel, think and get back to full energy. The author narrates nicely each and every emotion, gave a realistic feel to connect with the readers easily... Wonderful write up..
The modern poetry is so personal, cherishes flaws instead of perfection. Written beautifully by Priyanka Bhatt, this book was a rather journey through different emotional pitstops.
A collection of relatable and motivatonal poems, poems about us, about the pain we go through and how to rise from the ashes of failure like a phoenix.
