Liv DeSoto has always been in love with her brother’s best friend. Her obsession with him only grew when she perfumed as an Omega, and his Alpha scent became her own personal addiction. Dean, however, acts like she doesn’t exist.
When Liv finds out that he’s joined Heat Haven with a trial pack, it all comes together. With her first heat due any day now, who better to help her in this time of need than Dean and his two incredibly handsome future packmates?
Liv’s obsessive tendencies lean towards stalking and “borrowing” some of the pack’s belongings. River and Grayson, the Beta and other Alpha of the pack, flourish under Liv’s compulsive nature.
The only thing standing in her way of true happiness is Dean and her father. Money, deceit, and status rule Liv’s family. She’s willing to risk it all for these men. Are they willing to do the same for her?
This is a MMMF Omegaverse romance. It is a standalone full-length novel with lovable but slightly unhinged characters. You do not need to read Heat Haven to understand this story. It does, however, help with how Heat Haven operates.
Sarah Blue is a USA Today best-selling author of paranormal, omegaverse, and contemporary romance. When she isn’t writing you can find her nose buried in a book or picking up a new craft she probably won't finish. She lives in Maryland with her husband, children, and two cats.
I was so delighted how great this book was. Initially I was worried that our darling Omega would do my head in with her self entitlement and little obsession with her brother's best friend. Yet as the story settled in, I fell in love with this author's edgy writing and snarky dialogue. That's not to mention the hot men that made up this pack. It was fire. 🔥🔥
"Better to fly with no direction than to have your wings clipped by a lesser man."
Olivia is a young woman practically navigating life alone. Sheltered and emotionally abandoned, she wants nothing more than for the man of her heart to love her in return. Yet Dean seems to be off limits.
Although Liv suspects that the attraction is mutual she can't tie him down. Well that's till she learns that Dean and his pack have signed up to Heat Haven in search for an Omega. Well hello?! She's right under their nose...
“I really like the crazy, feisty ones. Can’t we have her?”
The pesky rich girl thinks she can manipulate the situation. Little does Liv know, she was there's all along. One meeting with River (the fun loving, stalker Beta) and Grayson (a Viking Alpha with a penchant for being called daddy), they'll be steering Dean in the right direction, straight to Liv.
There were some fantastic layers to this story which made the Omega's Obsession much more than a fluffy read. A heroine with kleptomaniac tendencies (bloody hysterical), men that went to all lengths to please their girl, and scorching sexual encounters between them all, this was a bloody great addition to the Omegaverse.
ARC provided by the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
I’ll admit I can’t be objective when it comes to this book. For starters, my dear friend Sarah wrote it, and I got the privilege to be the first person to fall in love with Liv, River, Grayson and Dean. And I’m still insanely obsessed with them, because Sarah created something truly unique, refreshing and fantastic.
Omega’s Obsession is a game changer in the Sweet Omegaverse genre. If you love OV, you have to read what Sarah has created in her Heat Haven universe. The first novella masterfully combined interesting characters with an unique setting and the spiciest spice. It was short but it gave us so much. In Omega’s Obsession, Sarah managed to explore her universe further and play with tropes and concepts until she came up with something mind blowingly good.
You’ve never read an Omega like Liv. She has a side of vulnerability and softness impossible to resist. But what makes her so special is her blatant disregard of any social morality when it comes to love and what she wants. She openly obsesses over her men, stalks them and even steals small tokens to keep them close. And she does everything with such charm and sweetness, you’ll find yourself thinking “damn I wish she’d steal my shit too.” I know I did. I loved her POV because it showed an unashamed sexual woman and for some reason, that’s pretty damn hard to find in romance. Liv is the best female character I’ve read so far this year.
Then you have River, the beta of the pack and unpredictably, my favorite. He’s as unhinged as Liv and both together create this irresistible pull. They are a match made in heaven and when they are together, their chemistry is so strong it’ll give you tingles. Some of their scenes together are so incredible, you’ll need a moment to recover. And when you think you can handle the little shit, River will do something else to completely obliterate your ovaries. So don’t fight it, let him destroy your sanity, it’ll be worth it, trust me.
Daddy Grayson is there to keep everyone alive. He’s the caretaker, trustworthy Alpha of the group. His dirty talk could be considered a weapon of mass destruction, and his Big Dick Energy will have you dehydrated so quickly, you’ll feel lightheaded. Grayson was the biggest surprise for me, I thought I wouldn’t care either way about him and I ended up fucking in love with the man. There’s a cute daddy kink in play with Grayson, but it’s pretty light. I think it’s perfect for those who haven’t read it before or are still deciding if it’s their thing. But careful, Sarah Blue has the power to turn everyone into Daddy’s Good Girl. And with Grayson, success is almost guaranteed.
Dean has been Liv’s obsession for years. He’s kind of an idiot, not gonna lie. But he’s my idiot, so watch it. The first chapter from his POV is so good, because you start puzzling all the pieces together and you want to smack him so hard, but at the same time, you totally understand why he’s doing what he’s doing. The first time they FINALLY kissed I thought I was going to pass out. The yearning was so real while reading him and Liv.
This book is also really fucking funny. Sarah knows how and when to add humor in her stories, and in this book, with stalkers and obsessive characters, the hilarious comments were really on point. This book doesn’t try to take itself too seriously and that’s what makes it such a good read. You won’t be able to put it down, and you’ll be left wanting more.
In conclusion: if you’re looking for a Sweet Reverse Harem Omegaverse, with unique and well developed characters, high levels of spice, a dash of daddy kink and chasing in the park shenanigans, hilarious moments, obsessive but cute love, and the greatest heat group scene… then pick up Omega’s Obsession and have a good time.
I could not find myself interested in a single book for the past few days. Whenever that happens, I good reread always helps. Already know the story and knowing I’ll love it really helps make it an easy read. It’s cool to see how much this author’s writing has changed and improved since writing this one. I still enjoyed this book but it is evident that it is one of her first. A little cheesy and stiff dialog but still a really fun time.
July 14 2022:
What a fun read! This book follows Liv, a very sweet omega, Dean, an alpha she’s been in love with since she was young, Grayson, a big teddy bear alpha, and River, a mischievous beta. Like most omegaverses I’ve read, I really enjoyed this book! I love how fluid their sexuality is, and how they were fairly equal with their affection. I have a love/hate relationship with books where the FMC is so obviously obsessed with an MMC that I get secondhand embarrassment from it but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed her bold, zero-shits-given approach.
There were just a few things that I wish we got more of that stopped this from being a five star read. I wish we had more time with Dean resisting, then slowing accepting her rather than what seemed to be a 180 flip. Throughout the whole book, a lot felted rushed and I had hoped certain things would have been more fleshed out than it was like her father, what happened to her mother, and the climax of the book. Given this book was less than 300 pages, it would have been hard to fully develop all the characters plus have and interesting plot but this book did a fairly decent job with it beside just a few moments.
I am a sucker for OV and this one did not disappoint. I usually spread out when I read OV as it’s one of my favourite sub genres but with so few out there, but I’m on to read the next one in this series right away!
I was super excited to read this because book one, Heat Haven is perfection. But….this book just did not do it for me. The beginning started strong but after about 30% into the book I was done. I pushed until the 70% mark before officially giving up.
Possible spoilers from now on. -I thought Liv was cute and awkward at first but as the book went on she just got more and more annoying. She was constantly lusting after Dean despite having another Alpha and Beta ready to take care of her every need.
-I hated the “I have an evil dad plot.” It took up wayyyyyy too much page time and was so boring. I also hated her brother. He really didn’t need to be in the book. He only shows up to tell her to stay away from Dean and to go back to their abusive father. This entire plot annoyed me! And let’s not forget he secretly killed Liv’s mom. I guess we just had to make him that more evil.
-The best part of this book was probably River. And sadly I had to go look up his name. I would have sworn on my life his name was Finn. I guess even my favorite character wasn’t too rememberable and he was the Beta ( I could actually care less about the Alphas) Liv should have run away with River after meeting him at that party.
-Now, the worst part of this book has to be the spicy scenes. Why was the fingering scene longer and hotter than the actual sex scenes? Why was I completely turned off during her heat? I just think all of the spicy scenes needed to be cranked up a few levels.
I know there’s not a lot of amazing Omegaverse books out there, but there at least needs to be great smut. Everything else could have been terrible but if the sex was hot I would have been happy. Instead I just waisted my time hoping this would get better.
I’ll save you some time. It doesn’t get better. Just stop after reading Heat Haven
The dedication page for this book was to Jacob’s Ladder Piercings and that deserves an award.
Sarah Blue is a phenomenal omegaverse author and you need to be adding her to your TBR. I do recommend you read Heat Haven prior to this because it introduces you to how Sarah’s omegaverse runs and also you get to see a hilarious Easter egg in this book (which you would otherwise miss).
This pack is MMMF (AABO) and everyone plays with everyone—we love sharing in this household. We also get a little bit of primal play as well, which is a new fave of mine so i was so happy to get that!! There is heavvvvy daddy knk, which isn’t my cup of tea but otherwise it was solid.
This was such a fun read and i loved all the characters. Their dynamics were hilarious and I adored watching them all fall for our little Princess omega.
River was easily my fave guy…and he was the Beta…which I now realise it a pattern for me…the Beta is always my fave hahaha. But really, River was a lil stalker-y at the start, but my boy was also has serious golden retriever energy.
Also, this was a great older brother’s best friend romance, which i don’t always vibe with. Dean was clearly in love with her and the more he denied it the better the angsty scenes were. When he finally came to terms with his feelings i was grinning my butt off.
Overall, you won’t regret picking this up for a fun and steamy time ;)
Omega's Obsession did not dissapoint. This is a fast, sexy read that follows Liv. She's an omega who is OBSESSED with her brother's best friend, Dean. For her whole life she's followed him, stealing things from him, just waiting for him to be hers.
She ends up meeting his pack (River and Grayson), and they become just as obsessed with her. But Dean has always been told to stay away, that he is not allowed to have Liv, that it's for her own safety. So what happens when she shows up at their house with no place to stay?
OMG - I really loved this book. First of all, Liv is hilarious. She knows she's a little abnormal but she doesn't care. RIVER RIVER RIVER is easily my fav in this book. He is just as "crazy" as Liv. Stalking her, wanting her, needing her. But never feeling good enough because he's Just a beta. Grayson is the daddy of the group and his dominating was verrrrry nice. Dean kind of annoyed me from time to time, but you could feel his love for her.
The only thing I wish we had more of was Dean's decision to give in. It felt like one second he was like no X stay away X and next thing we know he was all in. I would have liked to have "seen" the moment he decided to give in and go to her.
There is also a little thrill and I was pleasantly surprised. I really did enjoy this one and would highly recommend!
4.4 stars. This was hot. The writing was a bit rocky at the beginning, for my personal tastes. There were a few cringe moments that made me sort of hesitate, but I’m glad I kept going because the smut alone made this entire book worth it.
I did really like the relationships she cultivated with the men otherwise, though. They were a bit different with each of them, but all of them oh so sweet.
There was a bit of stalking, not only from one of her men, but almost two, plus the little bit that she did with one of them. I really enjoyed the intensity of that. There was a light bit of primal play. A protective, caregiver and honorific form of a ‘Daddy’ kink that was pretty dang sexy. And some very light choking, and overall roughness from all of them that I really appreciated the addition of. Hot. The sex was hot, and mercifully had plentiful. And the dirty talk just added to that.
I had a really good time. I’m glad I picked this TikTok rec up. My algorithm knows me so well now. It’s awesome. 😂
I can’t resist a scheming/slightly obsessive FMC and a MMC who loves that about her. This book is like that, but x3. Here, the FMC is also starved for emotional connection, we have triple the MMCs and they all want to care for and protect her (I can’t pick a favorite… ok, it’s Viking Daddy Grayson), and there’s some melodrama in there for good measure as well.
It’s not a perfect book, and parts of the story could have been fleshed out, but I’m honestly not even mad that things were glossed over. It’s kind of like Sarah Blue thought “eh, let’s just get to the good parts and spoil that omega.”
This was a first time read of this author. Omegaverse is also a new trope for me. This is MMMF rh. Liv has loved Dean all of her life. When she was 16 he started ghosting her. She stalks him and goes Clepto stealing small personal items from him. When she finds out he’s packed with a couple of hot guys and they are looking for an Omega she inserts herself. River and Grayson his pack mates fall for Her but Dean holds out for a good portion of the book. Too long really and there’s not enough interaction with Dean and Liv: HEA with sweet MMC’s.
I literally cannot with Sarah Blue and her books!! I’m addicted and I don’t care who knows it. Omegaverse is my jam and it’s making me see the appeal of the Why Choose trope.
Dean, Liv, Grayson and River I need so much more of. Scorching hot scenes and dialogue. An intense storyline. I wanted to hurt Dean at first for making my girl suffer, but I totally get it now. He is so hot. All three men are the stuff dreams are made of.
I had a blast reading this!! For the first time I enjoyed every single character in a poly romance. I loved these four and how they all fell for each other!
everybody say it with me: i don’t understand omegaverse, but i LOVEEEE omegaverse.
liv is a pack-less omega who has always been obsessed with her brother’s best friend, dean. they were always close as kids and dean always looked out for her but that all changed when she perfumed as an omega. she never stopped obsessing over him though, even stealing little tokens from him whenever she could. now that she’s an adult, she’s determined to worm her way into his heart and his pack, whether he likes it or not. it helps that she’s very attracted to his hot packmates: river, a tattooed, stalker-ish beta who’s immediately taken with liv and grayson, a burly viking type who would love another person to devote his attentions to. their journey to a completely pack isn’t so easy though.
this book was so, so hot. omegaverse always delivers and this was no exception. we have MM, MF, and group activities, *special* piercings and a little bit of d@ddÿ k!nk.
i loved liv’s relationships with each guy, the guys’ relationships with each other, and how they were all so different but still made sense. liv is a little lunatic but the guys all complement that in their own ways. a must read for omegaverse/rh lovers.
4.5 stars - I love a good poly romance, and Liv and her pack gave me what I wanted and more. Liv, an Omega, has been pining after her brother's best friend, Dean (an Alpha), since they were young. He stayed away from her for his own reasons that come to light once Liv puts it on the table that if he won't act on his attraction to her, she can find her fun somewhere else. Insert Dean and his pack, River (a Beta) and Grayson (another Alpha), and Liv is not letting them out of her sight.
Liv was obsessed and unhinged in the best way, but so were her guys. Each character formed connections with each other, and the love they all shared was clear. There was a suspense plot line surrounding Liv's family, which escalated quickly as the book neared the end, but it didn't stop the guys from claiming Liv as their own.
Tropes: MMMF, omegaverse, stalking, primal play, brother's best friend (full content list on author's website)
I unfortunately didn’t enjoy it that much. I’m a bit sad because I’m a sucker for a good omegaverse reverse harem book but sadly it didn’t do it for me.
I prefered book 1 a bit more but I feel like the writing style changed. The writing made me think of a wattpad fanfic and it was really fast paced. Also I wish we could have seen more of Dean because we hadn’t had much chances to connect with him. And I didn’t like why they couldn’t be together.
But I did really like River and Grayson, they were really sweet and loving
He will be mine, and he needs to hurry up and figure it the hell out.
Heat Haven 2 was still entertaining and hot as heck, but I think the quickness of the first one is what made it so epic to me. I enjoyed this one and the subplot, but it definitely makes the book a little heavier and I wasn’t expecting that. That said, I still enjoyed Liv’s journey to pack life. I love that she was sort of unrequited girl obsessed and then realized she had an entire pack starting to obsess over her. Love how they just do anything and everything for their Omega 😂
I enjoyed the Heat Haven novella by this author but not Vera and the Vegas 5 so it was a toss up if I would read this or not. I decided to go for it since it was in the Heat Haven world but I found Omega's Obsession to read more like Vera and have a lot of the same issues it did. It did have a lot of cute moments, fun scenes, and the spice was good but I couldn’t get past a lot of the issues because they kind of all stacked up for me.
Writing The writing is very disjointed and the flow of the story feels stiff and overly formal in odd places. I can't put my finger on every reason this is but two glaringly obvious issues stood out: very short sentences stacked on top of each other and hesitancy to use contractions (particularly in dialogue). There are POVs for each character but they don't have a distinctive voice so they all bleed together in the story.
Characters & Romance I overall found the characters and romance to not be fleshed out enough so it all fell flat for me. Everything with them and individually is pretty surface level - River and Grayson felt a little more developed and their romance with Liv felt that way too, but it was still pretty shallow. The biggest disappointment to me was Dean because this story is promoted as a "brothers best friend" romance but her relationship with Dean (her brothers best friend) is the least developed of her relationships. She spends the least amount of time with him and it's over 50% into the book when they finally connect in any meaningful way. The book leaned too heavily on their off-page past (and a few brief, sporadic glimpses we see in flashbacks) to justify Liv's obsession and his love for her but they were too random, short, and long ago (4+ years) to feel substantial or like a suitable replacement for developing their relationship now.
Story That's where the "stalker" storyline fell apart for me. I love stalker romances and was really excited to see one where the woman is the stalker but the "stalker" aspect was really exaggerated in promotion and it didn't feel compelling because their interest felt contrived. Unfortunately Liv did not come across as obsessed either she came off as (I hate to say this, really I do) ... pathetic. Especially when she would resort to making a scene in public by yelling and stomping her feet before stomping away. There were a lot of cringe worthy scenes in this book and a lot of them were Liv acting petulant and childish (and not in the "Omega's need affection" way that's typical and cute in omegaverse).
The secondary storyline could have been interesting but was far too predictable (and that's coming from me, who usually doesn't see predictability as necessarily bad) to hold my attention or be interesting. One thing that really bothered me is when Liv finally found out why her brother warned Dean away from her. She learned that their Dad didn't like that Dean is bisexual, but once that reason was given and she called their dad a bigot and left, it wasn't really acknowledged again. She never tells him and despite him wanting to know and asking every once in a while up until that point, he suddenly stops. That whole plot thread is dropped - theres not even a moment where he asks again and she tells him it will hurt him to know and asks if he really wants to know. It felt unresolved.
Final Thoughts Overall this was a "death by a 1000 cuts" book for me; it was a fast read with pretty good spice and some truly cute and funny moments and great quotes, but they weren't enough to string together an experience where I enjoyed the story more than I was disappointed in it. But I will say I read Too Temping by this author and her other omegaverse books (Lavender Moon and One Pucked Up Pack) and enjoyed them a lot more. The Heat Haven world are interconnected standalones so if you’re interested in the others, give them a try!
Omegas obsession ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Okay so much better than her last book I read!! PERIODT. Glad I decided to read it. First off I fucking love Liv! The main issue with the authors last book is she gave us nothing with the fmc’s or mmc’s. This time around we got liv and she was adorable and so fun and so relatable ahha I loved her. There was also great smut in here. The plot was also interesting! Kept me engrossed the whole time. Okay so I needed this to be longer. I wanted Dean to grovel and really work to earn her after the amount of effort she put in for so many years. I needed him yearning and obsessed over her. I also needed more after everything that happened. I wanted the men really being there for liv and I feel like we only got that with Grayson and then skipped over the healing process. I wanted more with liv and her brothers relationship. Also more on her dads and even her step moms. She never told the guys what her dad said to her. I needed those moments. I needed more plot and I needed more of them getting to know her and each other and adoring her. I was excited for brothers best friend but Dean ended up giving me the least out of all the men. We have him saying he has loved her for years but I needed him so down bad. I did really like Grayson and river. I wanted more on their history and then meeting Dean. But yeah I just needed more plot and more character building and more yearning and groveling ahah but this was super fun and worth it and I really did end up enjoying it. I love liv she’s great and since I read nobodies darling I love the little snippet we got of her. I just wish we had more but still super good lil book with cute good feels and good smut!! We love omegaverse ahah. Oh also but yeah I feel like we skipped over livs ordeal way too fast and I don’t love that AND I NEEDED SO MUCH MORE FROM DEAN. Sorry you were supposed to do it for me
Me and omegaverse are like this 🤝🏾 so I was super excited to read this bad boy and it did not disappoint. Please check you TW before reading.
This story was pretty fast paced so it took me no time at all to read it and love these characters. Our main FMC Liv has been in love with her brothers bestfriend Dean who friend-zones her at every turn. She has a habit of stealing his things like she’s fr obsessed with him, only she doesn’t know that the feeling is mutual but he just CANT go there with her.
As her heat is approaching she decided to join Heat Haven to host her heat and finesses her way into his pack. His pack members are TO DIE FOR, so much BDE & tenderness to make a perfect situation for all of them.
Shit starts to hit the fan when she gets closer to them with her family, her dad and her brother in particular are keeping something from her which I won’t spoil. I liked the action and suspense detail in the story it added a little bit of umph. I would have liked a little more background into her family to better understand why things turned the way they did with the conflict.
The SPICE WHEWWWWW WAS IT SPICY, it’s something about Omegaverse and the pheromones that just hits differently.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. Thank you sm for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This sadly was a bit of a miss for me. While the spice was decent, I personally didn't connect with the characters. And it felt a touch on the cheesy side for me. I know this isn't PNR, but Omegaverse has some shifter qualities without the shifting, and I often find I have a hard time getting onto PNR because its on the cheesy side.
If you're new to Omegaverse the author gives the run down of what it is and I think that's awesome, cause it can be slightly confusing trying to explain it to a person who's new to the trope. haha.
I did really enjoy River, I thought he was super hot and funny. And Grayson was the strong 'daddy' comforting role, but I didn't feel the connection between them as a pack. I also wasn't a fan of the reason Liv and Dean couldn't be together. It just didn't make sense to me. I enjoyed Heat Haven a lot, and maybe this was just a miss for me. I still highly recommend it to those who love this trope!
I loved how out there this omega was at times. She was unapologetically herself and decided that was more important than conforming to what people thought she should be.
I read this like a woman possessed! I was immediately sucked into this story just a couple chapters in.
Usually, I'm not a big fan of the FMC holding a flame for a guy who doesn't give her the time of day. However in this one, you can tell there's more going on with Dean. It also helps that we get multiple POVs! :)
River is my favorite character in this! He's a little unhinged but I adore him. Grey is the daddy dom of my dreams. Dean is, well, Dean. While Liv was a strong FMC at first but fell off a little as the book went on.
This was a fun, smutty, and sweet omegaverse! It's MMMF, between an omega, beta, and two alphas. Some highlights: primal, hand necklaces, toys, spoiling, daddy dom, and stalking.
I looooooooved all the play and there was a nice inclusion of an external conflict. I didn't completely jive with it, it felt like a little bit too much, but overall this was so solid. Liked it more than Heat Haven! I can't wait to read more in the Heat Haven series.
A lighthearted omegaverse. Nothing spectacular but also nothing negative to say. I finished this 24 hours ago and I can't remember the plot unless I focus on recalling it. I also didn't feel anything negative towards it. It is a solid mid, I suppose!
3.5 stars. I LOVE an obsessed woman, and Liv did it perfectly. This girl has been in love with her brother’s best friend (Dean) her entire life, and she has a whole box of his stuff that she has stolen. And the best part, he knows that she’s been doing it, and he LOVES IT. She has met her match, his packmate, River. He gets just as obsessed as she does right when he meets her. And I mean, the FIRST time they meet, they do something spicy. AND he saw one of the things she stole from Dean and he LOVED IT TOO. And not long after he sees her a second time, he begins STALKING HER, and her being the crazy girl she is, she LOVES IT. Not only does she love it, she puts on a SHOW for him!!! And then, Dean’s second packmate, Grayson immediately becomes protective of her and wants to take care of her, and he instantly shows that she’s cared for. AND there’s a little daddy kink between Grayson and Liv. He never even knew he liked that until her. Unfortunately, Dean was an idiot this entire book, an idiot with good intentions, but an idiot nonetheless. He has always wanted Liv his entire life as well, but he never made the move because of something Livv’s brother (Stephan) said. And all this time, he has made it seem like he never wanted her in that way, but he did and there were times where he said the wrong thing and PHEW. Poor liv. But thankfully, after a while he comes to his senses, and he is perfect.
Now to properly introduce the pack, we have the pack Alpha, Grayson. The tall gorgeous viking god with blond hair and green eyes. And then we have his bonded River, the beta of the pack who is the perfect image of the standard bad boy with dark hair and delicious tattoos all over. Finally we have Dean the Alpha, and the object of Liv’s obsession for years, the picture perfect broody Italian. And then, we have the pack Omega, Liv. She is the obsessed, little bit crazy girl that loves to steal her pack’s belongings, and she has no problem with being bold and forward with what she wants in a spicy way.
This book revolves around a company known as Heat Haven. It is a safe space where Omegas can safely go through their heat, and their needs will be satisfied with a thoroughly screened Alpha. Dean’s pack signs up for Heat Haven because they want to complete their pack, and of course, Liv is outraged that Dean would completely ignore a perfectly good Omega in front of his face, and go somewhere else. So, obviously Liv goes to Heat Haven at the same time Dean’s pack goes to ensure Dean will notice her. From this moment, everything changes. Dean’s pack notices her and they want her despite Dean’s objections.
Favorite quotes/scenes:
-"I think River and I together could be the best kind of trouble."
-"I have my eyes on a feisty, slightly certifiable, dark haired-goddess. When I saw that she stole Dean’s tie clip and then proceeded to show up at Heat Haven, I knew she was a woman after my own twisted heart." (River)
-"I want to take care of her, and fuck, if she wants me to be her daddy, I’m more than eager to be that for her." (Grayson)
-"Grayson, what is all this? I didn’t order anything." "Been keeping notes on things you might want around the house." "This is too much, Grayson." "Baby girl, it’s only too much when I say so. Now open your presents and give me a kiss."
-"Liv deserves the world, and I plan on giving it to her on a silver platter."
-"What the fuck did you do to your fingernails?" "Grayson did it. I think it looks great." "Don’t lie to him, Liv. Or else he will start wanting to paint your nails all the time and you’ll be walking around like a My Little-Pony Edward Scissorhands hybrid for the rest of your life." "They are pretty bad, huh?" "No, honey. You did a great job. Don’t listen to River."
-"You’re special." "I think that’s you. Sweetheart." "You make me feel safe. I love you for that." "You make me feel like the luckiest Alpha on the planet, and I love you for that."(Liv and Grayson)
-"I’m epically and completely in love with Liv DeSoto. I want to tattoo her name into my chest, have her bite my neck, and leave marks all over her perfect skin. I want her to claw my back to shreds and mark me as hers as well. Everything and anything Liv DeSoto I adore and need in my life."(River)
-"I’m not sure where our lives will take us, but I know we will do it together as a pack. Grayson as my protector and daddy, River as my soulmate and chaos, and Dean as the one who has and always will continue to choose me and I him. I will spend the rest of my life stealing their things and telling him how special they are to me. This family I Have built for myself is something beyond any fairytale. It’s work and messy sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world."
Full Disclosure: I was able to get a chance to ARC read for Sarah & thank you so much for this opportunity on getting to read Heat Haven book 2 early! <3 Noted: Omega's Obsession is a standalone but it's good to read the Heat Haven novella first to understand the dynamics of how Heat Haven functions & operates. Read with discretion since there might be slight spoilers to this review.
The premise for Heat Haven book 2 is that we're in a different town & with a different pack compared to the novella where it was with Emily & her pack.
We meet Olivia "Liv" DeSoto and she has been crushing on Dean (her brother's best friend) since they were teens. Liv's family and Dean's family are pretty close, that even Dean's mom mentioned to Liv (which you'll read in book 2) that she should be her daughter-in-law already LOL. So when Liv stumbles upon "quite literally" to Dean at Heat Haven with his other packmates River (beta) and Grayson, well you'll be in for a rollercoaster for sure! Since Dean and his pack are looking for omega and Liv is honestly quite close to her heat as well so let bygones be bygones.
Some honorable mentions that I'd love to point out are Liv & River's upstairs encounter, Liv & River's obsessions, and klepto tendencies, Daddy Grayson (I love him so much), Dean's realization finally (he is so oblivious, I swear), Daddy Grayson/Dean 🥪 (I need more of that tbh), the group scenes. Honestly are the spicy scenes were top tier 🤩🤩
I love how immersive Sarah's world has grown and honestly, I need a sequel about this pack (gotta wait until the Christmas pack, unfortunately). Liv was such a great FMC and her dynamics with each of the guys are very telling and each brings out that relationship more earnestly.
