This book was the best love triangle book I've ever read!!❤ The writing and the character development was top tier! All the characters' past, especially Gemma's were SO well written. You could clearly see that everything she went through made her be who she is today. I know you might be asking...what about the spice? Girl, the spice was PERFECT. Not too much, but not too little. And the cliffhanger??? PERFECTION. Did not leave me hanging. It was the best ending this first book could've had. Can't wait for the next book!🥰
Let me tell you a little bit about the characters:
-Parker: oh Parker...the childhood bestie. Yeah I LOVED him at the beginning, especially the first 5 pages haha. He just treated Gemma like a sister when he KNEW she didn't like him only as brother. I loved the friendship that they had, oh my how I wish I had that too. She was his Butterfly and he was her Rattlesnake. Totally loved the nicknames. Their whole friendship was CUTE and wholesome <3
-Gemma: if you didn't figure this out already, I love her SO FREAKING MUCH. Because of her past, she underestimated herself but she is amongst the strongest MC's I've ever read about. The past story is really well written. I loved her relationship with Alejandro so much; she tried to remain professional but he pushed her to the limits. I really admired her love for designing and styling.
-Alejandro: I don't ever know where to start...he is everything that Gemma needed. As I said, he helped Gemma push her limits and made her realize that she is perfect just the way she is. I especially loved his bad boy persona. Alejandro is there for Gemma at her lowest and sees her vulnerable. He helps her. He was also really sweet and cocky and these two worked SO WELL together in this book. And let me tell you- his CONFIDENCE? Out of this world. When I smell cherries again, I'll think of him ;)

Vivian. Vivian. Vivian. You’ve done it again. Fun fact I waited until the last minute possible to read this book because I knew once I read it I would be obsessed with Parker and Alejandro’s love triangle with Gemma.

Gemma is a 26 year old aspiring designer. After a failed business venture, she’s unemployed, penniless and left with no other option except to move into her best friend’s home. Parker and Gemma have been friends for almost all their lives so much so that Gemma considers Parker’s family like the one she never had. Gemma’s also been secretly in love with Parker and has been trying to move on since he rejected her confession of love. An opportunity to work with Hollywood’s bad boy Alex Rivers (Alejandro) presents itself and there’s something about him that calls to Gemma. I love the love triangle trope and Mae has added in the possible best friends-to-lovers and/or the age-gap trope which makes L&L all the more interesting. The whole book, with the exception of the epilogue, is in Gemma’s point of view. This shapes how I saw her interactions with both her love interests and ultimately who I might be rooting for.
I wasn’t fond of Gemma’s character at the beginning, but I grew to love her and the person she became towards the end of the book. Parker’s character made me so mad because of the way he treated Gemma throughout the book. He kind of redeemed himself and I’m excited to learn this secret he’s been keeping as well as see his point of view in book two. And Alejandro, I loved his character. He pushed Gemma out of her comfort zone and he seems like the perfect match for Gemma. He also has some secrets and I really want to know why he acts the way he does – hopefully Mae will address it in book two.

L&L hooked me from the first page and at the beginning I really wanted Gemma to end up with Parker, but then we were introduced to Alejandro and I rooted for Gemma to end up with him. That cliffhanger and epilogue though has me reconsidering and honestly I kinda want her to end up with both of them, but if that’s not an option then definitely Alejando. I really enjoyed L&L and the next book in the Mine to Keep series can’t be released soon enough!

Vivian Mae has done it again with this spicy, slow burn love triangle romance story!
We meet Gemma, an aspiring fashion designer whose life hasn't gone her way. But that all changes when she meets movie star, Alex Rivers, all of that changes. One person isn't thrilled about the new man in her life though -- her best friend, Parker.
I think we can all see a bit of ourselves in Gemma, broken, but pulling ourselves together. Not where we want to be yet, but getting there. The story kept me turning pages, eager to see her relationships develop, and the spice was soooooooo hot!!
I absolutely cannot wait to read the second part of this amazing story!

➝(Thoughts) I usually don’t like love triangles but Vivian really wrote this book well to the point where I was hooked. I literally could not put this book down!! I’m really impressed, I could definitely see Vivian’s growth and I’m so proud of her. She wrote her characters so good, I felt like I could connect with all of them.
➝(Gemma) I really love Gemma, even though she feels weak I think she was the strongest character. I really loved her personality, and I love how she didn’t make the love triangle weird or annoying. We Stan !!
➝(Parker) Okay where do I start… this man I really wish I could punch him. The way he hurt my precious Gemma so many times, like you knew she liked you yet you go on and play with her feelings, like sir… I honestly really liked him in the first few chapters but how things change. Guess this is me saying I hope she ends up with Alejandro!!
➝(Alejandro) This man pushed Gemma and I really love that, also this man is so cocky but like perfectly. We love a bad boy, the way this man would do anything for Gemma, protect her, but also let her do things. I love how he kept pushing to see her. Get you a man that would pay you for your time. Ok. Don’t come at me about the spice rating. This book has waaaay more tension than spice scenes. It’s not just tension between 1. It’s between both.
I’m not typically one for a love triangle and this book is EXACTLY WHY!
I absolutely love the clashing personalities between Parker and Alex. While they are both different, the love they have for Gemma is powerful.
I really need to stop reading books with cliffhangers though lol another book. Another killer cliffy 😩

Gemma and her friend Dana arrived at the frat party at Columbia University early so she could get some liquid courage before telling her best friend since childhood that she loved him. She didn't attend the same college as Parker but was a senior at the best fashion school in midtown and just that morning found out she received the internship as a stylist for a small time designer but hoped it would lead to making her own designs on day.
Parker arrived at the party just as someone accidentally doused her with his drink soaking her blouse. When they are in the restroom so he can help her remove the stain she blurts out her feelings. Only when she told him she was in love with him he tells her he loves her too...like a sister.
Six years after her humiliating drunken confession of love, Parker was still there to support her when she needed him. And now he was helping her move into his spare bedroom after her business failed. Gerald had not been happy when his clients loved her designs over his and when she opened her own small business styling clients for events she found that Gerald was underbidding and stealing her clients.
As much as she hated it she was sitting in a cab on her way to her interview with Gerald. If she wanted a job and any hopes of living on her own she needed her old job back. But, the traffic was at a standstill because of some movie being filmed. She ended up leaving the cab and running the twelve blocks making her twenty minutes late only to find out Gerald had no intention of hiring her. He just wanted to humiliate her...in front of the gentleman who had opened the door for her.
The man lifted his glasses and she recognized the gorgeous man from the billboard she had just run by...and he told her, in front of Gerald, that he wanted her to be his stylist.
Wow! This book is amazing! This is a slow-burn romance drawing out your anticipation for the time that Gemma and Alex's sparks finally ignite. But, this book leaves you with a surprising twist and two cliffhangers.
To one she's a butterfly that meets protection. To the other she is a precious gem who needs to fly. Secrets...Gemma has secrets, Alejandro has secrets that Parker is not sharing with Gemma, but Parker has his own secrets. I love Parker. I truly do, but I am most definitely team Alejandro.
This book is action-packed from page one and the suspense will keep you turning the pages waiting to hear their secrets, but especially waiting for the sexual explosion to commence. I can not wait for the next book to see why Parker has been holding back, what happened at the Pierre Hotel and definitely who Gemma will choose in the end - the man who she has loved her whole life or the man who makes her body tremble as never before.

No, but seriously. Woah. It was an amazing read. I had no idea what to expect, I didn’t really read love triangle romances so far, but it is a must read. I loved every minute of it.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy and I couldn’t be happier to have read this.
I kept checking to see how much I have left while reading because I was anxious and didn’t want it to end too soon. I was so caught up in the story I didn’t even realize I finished and immediately wanted to read the next book.
The character development is so good and the story is extremely well written. I cannot wait for the next one.

Give Me The Leather!

Overall this is a 4.5 story and geez… if Vivian wasn’t leaving me hanging like this!! Bad form, girl. Bad form! 😂😂😂
I love this story. I am such an Alejandro fan it’s not even funny. What’s better than a man who knows what he wants and doesn’t play games. I think his backstory and rise to fame is dripping with mystery and I am so fascinated with what “dirt” Parker may have on him.
Parker. Oh Parker. I went into this book wanting to love him. I really did. He’s sweet, caring, protective. Real “white knight” material. But… he’s not “knight” material at all. Clueless, isn’t sexy—it’s frustrating. I just feel so bad for Gemma and how he leaves her confused and tethered. I need to know where this story is going to go! I have to know! This cliffhanger is killing me!!! Hahaha
I am realising that this isn’t much of a review. More of a continuous line of consciousness detailing the many emotions I have right now. But I will say this. I didn’t put this book down from beginning to end. I highly recommend giving this a read. Just make sure you have some water and snacks near by as you won’t be available to anyone until you’ve read the last page.

Clueless, isn’t sexy—it’s frustrating. I just feel so bad for Gemma and how he leaves her confused and tethered. I need to know where this story is going to go! I have to know! This cliffhanger is killing me!!! Hahaha
I am realising that this isn’t much of a review. More of a continuous line of consciousness detailing the many emotions I have right now. But I will say this. I didn’t put this book down from beginning to end. I highly recommend giving this a read. Just make sure you have some water and snacks near by as you won’t be available to anyone until you’ve read the last page.

I can’t even fathom what I just read! I was second guessing who I wanted Gemma to end up with when Parker was spilling his guys at the end to us.
I loveeee Alejandro and Gemma together. Alejandro pushed her past her limits so she can do greater things in life. I love Parker, but I feel like he would just hold Gemma back and she would be stuck in her past.
Can’t wait for the next book to be out!

Amazing intriguing
What an Amazing book. Kept me hooked from the very beginning. The only thing I'm kind of sad about is the way it ended But I am looking forward to see what happens next. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat constantly and I couldn't read fast enough to get to the next page to see what was going to take place I highly recommend the series and this author.

Okay - first things first, just a forewarning that this book ends on a cliffhanger.
Okay 2nd - 4 stars only cuz I loved the story and quite enjoyed the “love triangle” aspect.
Some of the dialogue was honestly “blah” and I’m not a fan of the “you’re my good girl” thing, which if I was basing my review off of that alone, it would definitely be more like 3 stars. but I did like both of the male leads. Both equally annoyed me and also made me cheer for them at the same time.
Lots of things left unanswered to guide you into the 2nd book. just purchased it, will be reading it ASAP.

OH MY GOD.
First off, I didn’t even know what to expect going into this book. I’m not usually one who loves the whole love triangle trope but holy shit. This book changed it for me. I fell in love with all of the characters. The growth from Gemma is outstanding and I cannot wait to see how much she changes in the next book. I’m literally speechless after reading this book. Where do I even start with this one?
I come into this book 100% thinking I’m going to be on Team Parker. The friends to lovers trope I am a sucker for and genuinely thought that Parker would be my pick.
But let me tell you I am TORN between Parker and Alejandro! I absolutely loved bother of them for different reasons but by the end I may lean a little bit more towards Alejandro.
This book far exceeds my expectations. It has been on my TBR for a while and I wish I didn’t wait so long to read it and I severely wish I already had the next book because the way this ended????? I NEED to know what is next as much as I need oxygen to breathe.
Parker is nice and probably a really good best friend but there were moments of me asking “dude what is your problem?” And I really wanted to tell him to quit messing with Gemma’s head.
Then Alejandro enters the chat and pulls out all these romantic gestures that make me question if the person the public thinks he is is truly his genuine self. Like he is so sweet and kind and open with Gemma. And now I want to know what the lawsuit is that he is dealing with at the one hotel. Like what does Parker know that he isn’t telling Gemma.
There is literally so many good things I can say about this book but please go read it for yourself!! It is so worth it!!!

I finished the entire book in one sitting yesterday it was amazing!!! I was so impressed by the the ease of the dialogue, the relationship dynamics, the description and the the quality of the writing overall. I don’t know why I would’ve doubted it but I was nervous when I first started. It absolutely proved me wrong. 5/5 stars on Goodreads for me. Hot, engaging, funny, authentic. Please read it!! Gemma has gone through so much and is lucky to have a friend like Parker by her side. Now, when I first started this book, to be honest, I was rooting for Parker and Gemma. However, that quickly changed after Alex came into the picture (I am firmly team Alex!).
The chemistry between Alex and Gemma is palpable from the beginning when they first interact. He is the perfect amount of persistence to her stubbornness—and let’s be honest, Gemma needs someone like that in her life.
Definitely a fantastic read!

This love triangle, slow burn romance will leave you wanting more!
I loved Vivian’s debut book, so when she said she had Lawsuit & Leather coming next, I had to read it. Vivian Mae has done it again with this spicy, slow burn love triangle story!
Gemma is an aspiring fashion designer whose life hasn't been the best or gone they way she dreamt it would. Until she meets movie star Alex Rivers, all cards are on the table. Then we have Parker, Gemma’s best friend. He isn’t happy about the new man in Gemma’s life.
Gemma is broken, but pulls herself together. She isn’t where she wants to be yet, but is getting there. I love all the characters within this book.
I absolutely can’t wait for book two to see where this story goes.

I was wanting to scream at points, & smile so hard at others. It’s hard to say which guy Gemma should choose in this love triangle because both men are so good in their own ways. Gemma has only had eyes for her childhood bestfriend Parker. But he seems to only want to be friends, although he gives a lot of mixed signals. Gemma would love nothing more than to become his girlfriend. They have such cute banter, they’ve always had nicknames that they still use for each other. Gemma is his butterfly, and Parker is her rattlesnake. She moves in with him while she’s figures out her career situation. He’s totally fine with it because he’s a well respected lawyer & he wants to make sure she’s always safe.
After being denied a job & embarrassed by the employer, she can feel someone watching her. That’s when she meets the celebrity, Alex Rivers.

Well, if this isn't just a big ole' book hangover...Lawsuit and Leather has definitely left me hanging. This is one of those stories that consumed me, and I was actually thankful to be snowed in so that I had a good excuse to just curl up with this book.
This is a slow burn, love triangle that delivers all the angst. Gemma and Parker are best friends, but Gemma dreams of more. She loves Parker, and he loves her too...like a sister. When bad boy Alex comes to Gemma's rescue, he sees something in her that he needs. He wants to break down her walls and to protect her, and Gemma feels like she can show parts of her life to Alex that not even Parker has ever seen. Once Alex enters the picture, Parker seems to change though, and Gemma finds herself caught in the middle between the man that she wants but can never have and the man that she probably shouldn't want at all.
Now, here's my thing with love triangles. I almost always pick a clear favorite, usually right from the beginning. And 9 times out of 10, my choice is THE choice which makes me happy. With this book, I did pick a favorite right away. I kept this favorite for most of the book. Then, I started to get a little uneasy with my pick. Then, I decided that I was right all along. BUT THEN, everything fell apart, and now I JUST DON'T KNOW! I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be rooting for here, and I'm not sure where this story is headed. The ending? It just left me frantically checking the percentage on my Kindle and trying to flip just one more page. I needed another epilogue, a sneak peak at what's to come, SOMETHING. But no. So, here I sit with this big ole' book hangover.

Parker is just the perfect man/best friend: protective, compassionate and always there to support Gemma. Their chemistry is shining from the beginning and I was melting with the nicknames they gave each other. However, he did get on my nerves sometimes and I just wanted to scream at him and tell him to open his eyes.
Alex Rivers. The bad boy. The mysterious man with the "I hate everyone but you" vibes. I love how he is always direct with Gemma. This man knows what he wants and does hesitate to say it. He also does not try to change Gemma but sees who she really is and shows her that there is no shame in that
Gemma – my favourite character. I don't usually cry when reading a book but this storyline got me. We probably have all been Gemma once in our life: rejection is difficult. After everything she went through, I just wanted to hug her and tell her that she is enough. Vivian Mae’s way of describing these characters is absolutely mesmerising.
Now you're probably wondering which team I'm on. I can't even tell you the number of times I switched teams but I'm definitely Team Parker. Oh my, the epilogue. This is the best epilogue I've ever read, I am not joking.

I don’t read what the book is about cause I feel like it gives me more details and get bored with book faster. Vivian did a really good job. I went into the book thinking this is going to become a friends to lover kind of book. Then poor Gemma confesses her love to a Parker and the prick called her sister ( I would have thrown up on him too). Then six years later comes around and she moves in with Parker (still friends 🙄). Then she meets Alex Rivers I’m all for Alex (Alejandro) he will love Gemma more than Parker could ever love her. Then Parker 🤮 is gonna be like I got something special for us planned that I think you will like and Gemma is all excited getting ready having a hard time picking the right outfit and then it’s like the sexy part comes up but then it was all in her head 🤦🏻♀️. (I officially was giving up on Gemma &Parker) so now they are going to eat and bam poor Gemma gets pretty much knocked in the face cause Parker brought her to meet his girlfriend Camilla 🤮🙄. And then this girl wanted to be a complete ass to Gemma (if I was Gemma I would have punched her right in the nose where it would have broke). Then you keep going to where Gemma and Alejandro starts liking each other and he calling her a “good girl” and your just like he’s book boyfriend material and then skip to the very end and Parker does what he does and made me scream and throw my book. Like WTF 🤬. Then you get to the epilogue and I’m screaming the whole time saying dude you had your chance 6 years ago and you called her your sister go the heck on somewhere and leave the poor girl alone her feelings are everywhere now. I’m gonna have to take a break then get ready for a beat down in book #2. Over all it was a good book.

This book had me questioning everything. I loved Gemma’s relationship with Parker and how he felt protective of her. Alex and the thrill he showed Gemma intrigued me. All throughout the book, I kept comparing the two guys, hoping that one of them would mess up so I could ship Gemma with the other. All three, Gemma. Parker and Alex were holding back secrets of their own, and I wanted to know them.
There were a few traits in each character that made me question their actions. What I didn’t like about Gemma was her way of thinking that everything was about her at the beginning of the book. Also, Parker’s way of treating Gemma like she’s fragile only shows that he’s jealous when he felt she was slipping away from him. As for Alex, his aggressiveness made me wonder if he’s the right man for Gemma considering her past.
I have to admit that I loved this book and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m dying to know if the jealous childhood friend will win or the dangerous bad boy. Aside from being curious about the characters' secrets, I also want to understand their pasts. This series will only get more interesting.

This book is epic!! I 100% recommend reading it. If you are a fan of love triangles and bad boys in leather then this is a must-read for you.
Gemma, who's madly in love with her best friend Parker, moves in with him after losing her business. She has this sweet, innocent quality about her that makes Parker want to always protect her, which she loves but it also drives her crazy. He treats her like a little sister but she wants to be so much more. After already confessing her love for him and it not going well, she's reluctant to do it again.
Then in walks Alex, her celebrity bad-boy knight in leather, who saves her by offering her a job. Of course, he has an ulterior motive. He sees something in Gemma that captivates him and he's determined to claim her, break her, and he won't take no for an answer!
We also get introduced to Parker's new girlfriend, Camilla. I got nothing nice to say about her, so let's move on.

This book is epic!! I 100% recommend reading it. If you are a fan of love triangles and bad boys in leather then this is a must-read for you.
Gemma, who's madly in love with her best friend Parker, moves in with him after losing her business. She has this sweet, innocent quality about her that makes Parker want to always protect her, which she loves but it also drives her crazy. He treats her like a little sister but she wants to be so much more. After already confessing her love for him and it not going well, she's reluctant to do it again.
Then in walks Alex, her celebrity bad-boy knight in leather, who saves her by offering her a job. Of course, he has an ulterior motive. He sees something in Gemma that captivates him and he's determined to claim her, break her, and he won't take no for an answer!
We also get introduced to Parker's new girlfriend, Camilla. I got nothing nice to say about her, so let's move on.

Right..Where to begin with this book..? Lawsuit and Leather has not only warmed my heart but burned my soul. Love triangles are one of my favourite tropes.
I am so invested to find out what troubles all 3 of our main characters, i couldnt put it down. I cannot wait to see what Vivian has in store for us with the series. How do i summarise this book with no spoilers?
This book has enough steam, emotion and secrets to keep you hooked throughout. You feel pulled between the polar opposites of sexy stable Parker, the guy youd take home to your parents, and wild broody Alejandro who youd sneak out your window late at night to see. I am so for loving both these men and I wouldnt want to be in Gemmas shoes to be choosing between them.
The way you can feel that the author has poured her soul into this book, is shown in the depth these characters have been thought out. I can only applaud you on your creativity.
What can i say other than - Be a ‘GOOD GIRL’ and BRING ME BOOK 2 😉😉
