I wrote a review for the first three books in the Dolphin Bay series, but I'm not sure if it was included with the rest of the reviews or not, but I'm sure there were lots and lots of others!! Ms. Clover has a knack of making each main character (and there are plenty) stand out. She pulls the reader into her stories and keeps them guessing "who done it" until the very end! I love her work and attention to every detail. The fact that she fleshes out the characters one by one so that the reader feels she/he knows them well. There are plenty of twists and turns before the end, at which time the reader finally exhales! If the person reading this review hasn't read Ms. Clover's work yet, you're in for a treat.
Family, friends, and a life that's a juggling act!
Anna continues her books and cafe businesses with sleuthing on the side. Having her daughter and granddaughter beside her, along with her two best friends is helping her heal her body and soul. Though they live in a peaceful, coastal town in central California, it doesn't seem to keep her from being drawn into the murders around town and beyond. Throw in an inept police detective and a growing relationship with the retired police chief, Anna's keen crime solving instincts pull her into one case after another. Entertaining and well written!
All the books in this set continue on the story of the main characters of Dolphin Bay. Three different great stories that eventually get solved. I started this series with book 8 and have gone back to get the history of the characters that I met and enjoyed in that book. I have enjoyed them all! For me it is on to book 7. I hope you find my reviews worth the time, because I never will give away the story or any murderers. The author has already done an amazing job of sharing all those details
This book kept me interested through out! I have enjoyed Anna & the girls mystery solving. The last one was unique in that they were at sea. Interesting outcome!
Can't get over how much hey eat ... every meal is such a big deal. I think I gained weight just reading about the meals!
Now I am ready to solve one more ... John's! Bring it on!!!
I love the adventures of the Butler ladies. They all live life to its fullest. They continue to get caught up in murder scandals and Anna is enlisted in helping to resolve the mystery of who is guilty. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Overall just ok and part of that is because of my pet peeve. I am not a fan of a series that keeps mentioning and hinting at something that is never really discussed but is always in the background of the storyline. In the case, the main character's dead husband and whether or not he was faithful and if his death was suspicious. Six books in there should be something more to that storyline than just hints.
