Circadia. A city steeped in endless night. A city trapped in its dreaming. And the boy behind the clock face, who never wants the dreaming to end. The Lamplighter is an aged man who feels his dreaming is coming to an end. He hasn't seen the sun in many years, and he believes he won't see it again. That is, until The Stranger gives him a chance to bring it back. His task? Light all of the lanterns across the city streets in one shift...a feat The Lamplighter has never accomplished. Can he complete The Stranger's nearly impossible task, or is Circadia bound to sleep forever?
Circadia is a lovely novella with a touch of allegory. I love the lamplighter's character, as well as the character introduced as Haze. This story has a wonderful touch of hope and light amidst the dark. Definitely give it a try!
