So many women are suffering alone and in silence from a dreadful, relatively unknown disease called adenomyosis, and they don't even know it.
Too often, women have been told its simply a condition they need to live with. But every day, they have to build their lives around heavy, painful periods. They stay at home, wear black clothing, and have little or no energy to do the things they want in life.
Many women diagnosed with infertility or endometriosis, are not aware that they may also have adenomyosis, its evil cousin, which is far more debilitating and not as well known.
Could it be Adenomyosis? reveals what women need to know in order to get their life back and stop being controlled by this disease. It offers life-changing information to rescue their uterus and bring themselves back to a life of health and vitality.
Whether you've been given a diagnosis, have symptoms, want to heal or are looking for information to decide on treatment options, Could it be Adenomyosis? has the answers and is a must-read for both patients and medical practitioners alike.
A quick informative read about the devil…I mean Adenomyosis. I can personally confirm that the title calling it the bad cousin of endometriosis is definitely accurate. My only gripe about the book was there was some minor repetitiveness from chapter to chapter but otherwise, I found it informative in my quest to understand this god-forsaken disease I’ve struggled with for years now. I like to stay informed and books like this, utilizing evidence from peer-reviewed sources, helps me in that quest.
After years of misdiagnosis (or should I say visits with ignorant doctors who told me to live with pain and stop whining), I was finally diagnosed a few months ago. First, it was a straightforward endometriosis finding, then it quickly became an unexpected adeno too... Mentally I wasn't ready, and the Hungarian health care system is not adequate to support someone like me who has a million questions and wants to know all the options. This is written from an Australian perspective, so I'm not entirely sure that everything is applicable here in the CEE, but this book helped me immensely to think through what my options are and how to move ahead to figure things out.
Very informative book and definitely cleared up misconceptions I had previously been told about hysterectomies, endo and adeno. I appreciated the inclusion of sources after each individual chapter, which made it easy to seek out more information.
A bit on the short side, but that's honestly reflective of the amount of information out there about this condition and women's health in general.
Such a needed book for any women diagnosed with this condition and wants to understand it better... It has been enlightening to understand which options to seek and putting words into the pain felt since such a long time...
