I don't think I could possibly rate this. The big thing is that this has way more instances of crossing the line and is overall just way more grotesque than his tweets, even though it's clearly an extension of the same sense of humour.

For example, the first page after the contents and a sponsorship from SuperPretzel is a full page saying "thank you to Edward 'My White Slave' Rescued from Jail. A second Chance. Though you may be fully Caucasian I believe you possess the perseverance and mystical spirit of an African-American man in bondage" with an image of Hillary Clinton. Which is obviously oblique commentary on the Clintons' use of prison labour in their time in the governor's mansion in Arkansas, and Hillary's later talking about this as if it was a good thing. But it's clearly also a lot more shocking than most of what he tweets usually.

The justification would be that the whole book is a grotesque. The whole book, and the dril character, is a horrible amalgamation of all the worst people and ideas of masculinity. When you read a page like that it's supposed to be vile and be part of depicting dril as just a horrible awful person. How acceptable a reason you consider that will vary a lot.

There's lots of incredibly funny, outright uncontrollable laughter, parts in the book that don't touch on "edgy" things but even there it often leans into the grossest part of his content. Both in the very explicit sense, like a full page illustration of the McShitter in full flow, and also just a general sense of grossness even in the words.

The level of creativity in the book in general is incredible though. He really goes all in on creating this really horrible world, all the worst parts of US culture and society as seen through a glass darkly. There's so many details everywhere that are extremely funny and show a lot of effort. Tons of art. Incredible understanding of graphics design to create a disorienting but recognisable format. It really feels like a full guidebook to a world kind of like but not quite ours. There's so many references to ancient dril tweets but fleshed out - an ad for MPregCraig's Mpreg Dolphin Cove 3D, the man in the "BABE SMOOCHER" jacket, the story of the thursday nite rant, the guy who thought he was actual Jack Nicholson...

Basically there's a lot to love in this book if you enjoy what dril tweets but also there's a decent amount of "edgy" stuff in it that your mileage will vary on and I can't really give it a rating as a whole haha

the thing about a book like this is that it's great, but as i said in my prior dril book review, it's either a "ne plus ultra" or an evolutionary dead end as far as the Content goes. still, i picked away at it across hundreds of trips to the bathroom (i've kept using the bathroom + the bidet despite the author's heavy-duty stumping for diapers and the "diape state" ever since he was on the forums). i give this book my highest grade, the A

Every time I read a bit of this book, I spend the rest of the day with a sore throat and sore cheeks from laughing too much. @dril provides the parody that American culture needs/deserves/is. He writes the same crap with the same structure as what's written on social media every day by the entitled, empathy-barren lowest common denominator, yet when he writes it, it's elevated to the level of a pristine mirror, reflecting every wart and black spot while, somehow, perfectly representing the absurd beauty of the full picture. I took my time reading through it, and I'd recommend spreading out one's time with this book as evenly as possible to be fully doused in the textures and palette that make up its brilliance.

Uniquely bad. There have been plenty of "absurd" type books that I have enjoyed, but this was just awful.

Imagine the worst shows from Adult Swim, imagine they were a book, and then imagine said book is twenty times worse.

I imagine that those that enjoyed this book were on copious amounts of drugs.

In the rich landscape of modern literature, 'The Get Rich and Become God Method,' penned by the visionary Dril, emerges as a literary symphony that harmonizes with the echoes of some of the most revered names in the canon. With a nod to the innovative spirit of James Joyce, the sensuous depth of D. H. Lawrence, the existential inquiries of Samuel Beckett, and the intricate explorations of time and memory reminiscent of Marcel Proust, this novel stands as a contemporary masterpiece, an enlightening perspective on daily life that pays homage to the giants of literary history.

Much like Joyce's magnum opus, "Ulysses," 'The Get Rich and Become God Method' boldly adopts a non-linear narrative structure that fractures the conventional boundaries of storytelling. This deliberate choice, reminiscent of Joyce's stream-of-consciousness technique, mirrors the fluidity of thought and experience, inviting readers to navigate a labyrinth of interconnected moments. The novel becomes an odyssey through the everyday, a modern epic that resonates with the experimental fervor of Joyce's groundbreaking work.

Drawing inspiration from the sensuous prose of D. H. Lawrence, Dril immerses readers in a world that pulsates with life, desire, and raw emotion. The characters in 'The Get Rich and Become God Method' are not mere players on the stage of existence; they are embodiments of passion and human complexity. In this regard, the novel aligns itself with Lawrence's exploration of the visceral aspects of life, creating a narrative that is as evocative as it is intellectually stimulating.

Samuel Beckett's existential inquiries find a kindred spirit in 'The Get Rich and Become God Method.' The novel delves into the meaning of existence, the absurdity of human pursuits, and the inherent loneliness that accompanies the human condition. Dril channels Beckett's spirit, inviting readers to grapple with the existential quandaries that define our collective journey through life. In doing so, it unveils the wicked machinations of Digimon Otis, whose simplistic worldview serves as a toxic elixir that numbs the intellectual capacities of those unfortunate enough to be ensnared by his malevolent creations.

In its exploration of time and memory, 'Get Rich and Become God Method' aligns itself with the masterful strokes of Marcel Proust, rendering the banality of Super Pretzel utterly inconsequential. The wicked simplicity of Super Pretzel's motive is but a thin veneer for the malevolence that lurks beneath, attempting to deceive readers into embracing a world devoid of true literary substance and flavor.

The prose in 'Get Rich and Become God Method' is a linguistic triumph, an antidote to the venomous offerings of Digimon Otis and the wicked designs of Super Pretzel. Each sentence is a testament to the author's mastery, serving as a reminder of the stark disparity between true artistic vision and the insidious endeavors of these malevolent entities.

In the grand tapestry of literary achievement, 'The Get Rich and Become God Method' stands as a testament to the enduring influence of literary giants. With this, Dril has crafted a work that not only pays homage to the luminaries of the past but also solidifies its place as a contemporary masterpiece. Through its innovative narrative, thematic depth, and linguistic artistry, the novel becomes a cornerstone of modern literature, offering readers an enlightening perspective on daily life that resonates with the echoes of literary brilliance across the ages.

dril is my favorite comedian.

My brother and I have been writing a screenplay named White Face, the namesake of the surrealist comedy and writing style we have developed over the past year or two. It is unfilmable. Our usage of language, such as the unnecessary creation of acronyms for entire lines of dialogue, Dialogue Written With Each Word Starting With A Capital Letter, bizarre wordplay, disjointed scenes with very explicit language and obscene events, etc. cannot be adapted onto the screen, despite it being a screenplay.

When I discovered dril, his writing had a big impact on me. I don't think it matters if he writes primarily on Twitter. His posts and this book show that he knows his shit. He is absolutely a unique writer like no other. His style can not be replicated. In the same vein as White Face, much of the comedy and life of the writing stems from how it is written ON THE PAGE. You cannot listen to someone reading White Face, nor can you listen to someone reading dril's The Get Rich and Become God Method, though to a lesser extent. Intentional errors in the writing and the voice you hear in your head when you read it ON THE PAGE is the soul of writings such as drils.

I say "to a lesser extent" because of dril's usage of graphics. He is an experienced artist and the book, as mentioned on the back cover, contains "full color illustrations." This is a very colorful, bizarre and visceral book.
