Just finished first reading and now starting second; I highly recommend it. Perfect for bedside contemplation. Epictetus dealing with student's problems trying to knock some sense into whining students who don't want to face facts, reminds me of the later stoic-like teachers, whom I admire, Alfred Korzybski and Albert Ellis. Epictetus, who lived almost 2000 years ago, still speaks to the most basic issues of living a human life.

Not to worry of the things uncontrolled by will, and don’t do things against the principles of will. The book has a series of dialogues that exemplify it.
