[Rachelle Bachiu]

Short book with only 12 chapters. King Artaxerxes agreed to send Nehemiah, his cupbearer, to Jerusalem to see how damaged the walls of Jerusalem were. Nehemiah really was after God's instructions. He read the Law to the Israelites from beginning to the end and all the people knew what God expected of them. During that time everyone helped to repair the walls of Jerusalem. Also during that time people came to disrupt what they were doing and each family needed to work while half of them carried weapons while the other half worked. God protected His people from harm.
