As usual, this book did not disappoint. I realized when I started reading this book, the first in this series, that it was a spin-off of the author's Wealth of Time series. I was delighted!!! I loved the new characters and I enjoyed the in-depth descriptions of their personalities. I'm looking forward to more books in the series and I highly recommend it. (This novel works quite well as a stand-alone story)

I received an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) of “Angel Assassin” by Andre Gonzales. Having read quite a few of his other books I was once again extremely impressed with this new time travel addition. I particularly enjoyed the assembly of the team that was put together in the story and how it progressed to both a startling and unforeseen ending. Looking forward to more in this series.

Time travel adventure tweaking the future with near impunity - 4 stars

When Arielle meets two other Road Runners, it is not clear if the mismatched assassins will be able to work together. The interplay between Arielle, Selena, and Felix keeps a level of tension throughout.

The mechanics of time travel are barely mentioned. I found it off-putting that an exact time and place in the continuum of time and space could be treated so lightly. The rules of not adjusting time have been the bedrock of science fiction literature. Here, the players have minimal rules and muse about the ability of the flow of time wanting to keep things as they were intended.

Making adjustments in the lifespan of one or more individuals seemed almost cavalier. However, the storyline of the new branch of the stream of time by avenging a cold case from a few decades ago. Simply the Road Runners, look into the details of the murder in the past, determine who did it, and then kill the killer before the original crime is enacted.

Switching from the contemporary era of common cell phones to a time before still allowed the time travelers to realize that the new technology should have been left at home - time discipline made the yet-to-be-common appliances inoperative, a nice way to remind the reader of how much things have changed in a few decades and how to prepare (should you be considering a career as a time traveler - Road Runners is hiring).

The tale's character interplay softened the incredible fantasy of time travel. Near the climax, I wanted to know what the wrap-up report would say. Surely there will be more tweaks to report in this series. This was a good launch for an interesting series.

Angel Assassin
By Andre Gonzalez
I have read most of all that Mr. Gonzalez has written and have enjoyed everything I have read; therefore, I was excited to read his next novel Angel Assassin. I thought he was off on a new tangent; starting a new series. But I was wrong and I was thrilled that I was wrong.
In Angel Assassin, we get to time travel once again with the Road Runners. We get to know several characters introduced in the previous novels. We are reacquainted with Arielle Lucila who we met in the Wealth of Time Series. We also get to know Felix and Selena, who is brought in to work with Arielle.
Several times I had to stop and write down something that one of the characters said. Two statements stand out in my mind: “ Maybe we are not supposed to know what life would have been like had we made different choices” and “Time is an extension of the universe“ I am impressed that Mr. Gonzalez made me think and have a conversation with others regarding his words.

I should have known and now I am upset with myself. Andre Gonzalez finished his earlier series that I was a fan of and he had a new series, I should have known it would be connected!!! Had I known that I would have read it much sooner too. I thought it was an angel who was an assassin and that is not a book I would get all that excited about. I read this purely because of how much I enjoyed his other series. Well this is connected to that and it was WAY better than I was expecting because its not an Angel who is an assassin, its a time traveler assassin. Now that is right up my alley lol. Mr Gonzalez more please! You might let people know in the description that its connected too since that series has a fan base. Or maybe you do I did not read the description obviously. I only read the book because of the author. I also have his other earlier books in my queue and look forward to them. I am not going to go in hoping that they are related to wealth of time though. That way if they are I will have a nice surprise.

This was a super easy read. I blew through this. So if you want a book that will be engaging enough that time will fly by (see what I did there) this should be something you consider. You do not have to read the wealth of time series first, (unless of course you have a wealth of time just kidding) but I think if you have the time you should.

Arielle is an angel assassin. She travels back in time to change the future. She has been working solo. but is being assigned a team. Felix and Selena are her new teammates. Their assignment is to travel to 1988 and stop the murder of Mason Gregory. He is a good man that got involved with the wrong people. Andre Gonzalez writes novels that capture your interest and keep you reading. This is a great start to this spin off series.

This is a great story. Well written characters and scenes put the reader into the action. And there's plenty of action. I think it's going to be interesting seeing how these Angels grow as a team - they came together nicely here; the team arc was believable and interesting. There are a couple of nice twists thrown in, too!
This is not the first book I've read by Gonzalez and it definitely won't be the last.

Arielle, an assassin who time travels into the past to change the future, is good at what she does. Preferring to work alone, she finds herself teamed up with Felix, an easy going tech guy and Selena, an actress with an attitude who seems to rankle Arielle at every opportunity. Their mission is to save Mason and stop his family from suffering a downward spiral, but it is not as easy as it seems, especially when it involves Nate, a gang leader who runs brothels and wants to modernise prostitution. Well written with action, danger and suspense. An enjoyable read. I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily leave an honest review.

This is definitely a different take on the assassin books. Once I got into the amount of detail the book went into and how it was relevant to the book I started to enjoy it. Highly recommended.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕?

The very thought of time travel is intriguing. The first thing we often think about is “what would I change?” But what if you were part of a secret society that used time travel to right the wrongs? And what if the past pushed back at you when you tried to change it?

The Arielle Lucila Series is a spin off of author Andre Gonzalez’s 𝑊𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠. Though, you’d be more familiar with the organization if you read all of the 𝑊𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠, it’s not necessary to start there. The book is set up so well that you’re not lost in the premise at all.

Arielle Lucila is one of the top Angels in the industry. An angel being a time traveling expert with specific skills to succeed in the classified operations they are sent on. Arielle leads a new team with Selina and Felix in the first book in this new series, and this new permanent team will have to learn to work together to have a successful mission. This specific mission is to stop the murder of a local man nearly three decades earlier.

Mr. Gonzalez does an amazing job building up likable and strong characters that understand the ins and outs of working with others who may not see eye to eye. His take on strong capable women and intellectual men is refreshing.

The time travel aspect is also believable and not overdone. There are some well throughout rules for time travel, but again, the book isn’t bogged down with them.

If you’re looking for something that is well written and will take you on an adventure, I highly suggest 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙 𝐴𝑠𝑠𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛, as well as any of the previous books in the 𝑊𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠.

Solving crimes before they happen
Not everything that’s important is high-profile. There are so many connecting threads in seemingly mundane affairs, but the ripple effect could be disastrous if left unchecked.
‘The future is never safe.’

The author takes readers through the various necessary steps of research that are crucial to complete prior to going back in time. Backstory, housing needs, slang, wardrobe, etc. all need to fit in with cultural & social norms of that era as well as the specific locale. We even get tips what to do or not do while in character.

Something I’d never thought of when travelling to the past:
‘We don’t just fight the bad guys, we are fighting the past trying to preserve itself.’
‘The past is our ultimate ruler.’

Fave quote:
‘Acting is a weird mix of skill, truth, and lies.’

Can't wait to read the next adventure in ‘Secrets in the Vault’ (expected early April).

This is certainly a good book. I try to never involve myself in series because I have so many other books to read, but this one is absolutely tempting.

The Angels are part of a highly secret organization that has perfected time travel. When the Angels are assigned a mission, it is meticulously planned in advance of any time travel. Then the Angel travels to the time and place to prevent an event or whatever is required without changing elements that will affect the future.

Arielle Lucila is the Top Angel, very well trained, very efficient, who has always worked alone. Now her boss has assigned her a team, two Angels with specific skills, to assist her. The more they learn, the more they wonder if they are doing the right thing. However, their mission must be carried out as planned without changing the future.

Great spin off series, but works well on its own if you haven't read any others. I was excited to jump into this series as I am a fan of the author. I enjoyed the time travel and how the past tries to stay the same, so there is a lot of thought put into what can be changed and how. I liked learning about Arielle and her past as well as the dynamics with her new team. I enjoyed the plot of going back to stop a cold case murder that shook a family and small town. It was interesting to see how parts of the story and timeline were wrapped up together in the victim's life and the impact the murder had. I also wanted to know how the mission outcome changed the present!!! Looking forward to the next one!

Arielle Lucila

Andre Gonzalez is becoming one of my favorite authors. I'm a time travel fan from way back and Angel Assassin doesn't disappoint. Love the way the characters have conflicting styles and personalities but, together, they get the job done. I actually read Time Roller first after I saw a post about it. I loved Time Roller so I jump right into Angel Assassin. Andre said you can read the series in any order but recommends starting with this book. I am really looking forward to jumping into book two of the series, Secrets in the Vault. Of course I have read the Wealth of Time series and was already a fan! Love your work Andre Gonzalez. You keep writing them, I'll keep reading them!

Well written and easy to devour! Likable characters all with interesting histories join together to form an Angel Dream Team and, try to save lives by insinuating themselves into prior years to deter bad outcomes to crimes that were committed. The hard part for them is not being able to use present-day devices (cell phones, etc) to help as a means to an end. Besides that, if they aren't careful, the past will push back and the future might be changed. Want to know more? Read this hard-to-put-down book and like me, be super surprised with the murderer AND conclusion. Will be starting the next book very soon!

Angel is a time-traveling organization that travels back in time to change certain events that will not make a huge change to the current timeline. Arielle is one of the best assassins in the organization. Due to her record, she is giving a permanent team to work with. As they prepare for the next assignment, they live together and share their unique perspectives and talents. I enjoyed the first of the series very much. I can't wait to continue the series.

A team of time travelers have been assigned by the Road Runners to stop a murder that happened in the past. The team must also learn to work together. The author also seamlessly incorporates the rules of the Road Runners that will avoid corrupting the past. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

A completely different take on what assassin's are used for. This had a great storyline supported by a well thought out cast of characters .
These aren't your usual type of assassin's, forced to work with a new group the lone wolf has to accept the new system.
I totally recommend this excellent book to read.

When time travel is possible, going back to stop a senseless murder becomes feasible. Arielle Lucila is one of the world's top Angel Assassin, a time traveling secret agent. She travels back in the hopes of saving a life, but the past will always fight to keep the timeline on track. It's up to Arielle and her new team to save a man from losing his life, which would eventually cause his family and his community to spiral out of control.

Another ARC read.
Interesting concept. The past prevents from bigger changes such as going back and killing Hitler, but one can change some of the small events. Because even small events can cause bigger ripples down the line.
I would definitely read more from Andre Gonzalez. I love time travel, so the idea behind going back and making subtle changes that could change the world for the better in the future is intriguing.
