Where does your loyalty lie?

This question haunts James, infamous in New York for his bar and his playboy lifestyle. James knows what he wants. That is, until his best bartender, Amber proposes a casual sex relationship. The rules were simple: tell no one, do not get attached, and absolutely do not fall in love. But when James' best friend enters a relationship with Amber, the rules that were originally easy to follow, become an unexpected liability.

In My Significant Nobody, by Stevie D. Parker, friendships are tested, rules are broken, and a simple plan transforms into a whirlwind of emotions, epiphanies and the ultimate test of loyalty.

I really really liked this book. Before recently joining a new book club I had never heard of this book or this author. I purchased the book and read it one day, great story. I liked the 2 main characters together, I enjoyed the story between James and Amber, I liked how it took time for them to establish a relationship. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend and I hope to read more books from this author.

Another beautifully penned story by author Stevie. It is motley collection of my favorite tropes. Stevie is crafty with this one, handling cheating, jealousy, and loyalty to best friend skillfully. Rawness of diverging emotions and trepidation felt in unrequited love was so relatable.

An appreciable amount of side characters made this fictional story come to life. The art of delivering an appealing and compelling narrative is done right by Stevie. I especially recommend this to lovers of romance, but this one can be read by just about anyone looking for a feel-good story.

Wow! Was I in for a treat when I read My Significant Nobody! I didn't think Stevie D. could win me over anymore after Wounds of Time, but I was wrong. My Significant Nobody, was fresh, realistic in reverence of today's world and the dating society. Her character's resonated in many ways with my own life when it came to getting involved with the opposite sex! I specifically love how she described in such great detail about the experience of Isabelle's online date, a firefighter she'd went to meet. The entire book continues to hit on subjects that ring true in many social circles today in real life. Let's just say, I'm glad I'm no longer in that group of dating! From the first paragraph she held me captive with her craft, I felt I knew each character. I absolutely loved that her even though her characters set out with specific boundaries in mind, they were human after all and couldn't stick to the rules. I would highly recommend this to all my friends or anyone else that wants to read a real story that has probably happened in your circle at some point. Kudos once again, next...

This is my second book by this author, and this did not disappoint.

My Significant Nobody is a contemporary romance primarily set in modern-day New York, with lovely links to Wounds of Time. What initially starts out as a "friends with benefits" situation, turns into a web of betrayal, challenges, and breaking rules.

I love the intricate details of the story - descriptions of places, people, and situations that make the reader feel that they are there. The scenes set in New Orleans were a highlight for me and really brought the city to life. Like Wounds of Time, this is well written, characters are well developed with enough backstory to understand their motivations and actions, and they are plunged into real-life challenging situations making me want to yell at them to sort their mess out. Once I started this book was impossible to put down and was a one night read. I am really looking forward to the next one.

2nd great book I read by Stevie! Just when you thought she couldn't top her first book "Wounds of Time", she certainly did not disappoint! The characters are fun and they take us through their journeys. You'll feel like your with them...jaws dropping at times while laughing at them too! Along with being a fun book, it certainly has such intensity! Amber and James are behaving like who they think they are while it's not who they really are, unbeknownst to them! You'll love them, be frustrated by them, yet rooting for them! The changes they go through are nail biting! Not going to give any spoilers so just read this book! Written in first person really sucks you in! So far, Stevie is my new favorite author. I cannot wait for her next!
Amazing book, must read!

Such a good book! I was excited to read this after Wounds of Time and I was not disappointed. Without giving spoilers to either, I will say after reading this author's first book, I was nervous this wouldn't end how I expected (or wanted), but I was pleasantly surprised by the last page!

My title of my review was correct I loved it so much I broke it! How did I break it ?I held on to it so tight during specific parts during the book where I was literally yelling at the character James I was also yelling at another character Pete, but in my opinion got what he deserved this book is definitely my number one book that I have read by Stevie D Parker Parker granted this is only the 2nd book I've read and pretty sure this author only has 2 books but that's neither here nor there this book had me all over the place yelling, sympathizing it just had everything and for me a book that pulls any emotion out of a person reading it that makes it a fantastic book. Whether you're disgusted, happy, excited it doesn't matter I would say if you had a chance to read this book do it because it was definitely different from the 1st book they're not really connected there was like a few of the characters that were in the other book but aside from that they're not really connected I absolutely love the storyline there are parts in there that literally made me spit out my drink this is definitely a first for me I've never broken a book I've never been so into a book , a scene in the book that I gripped it so hard that it fell apart so this is a first for me go read it check it out for yourself. I don't like to give things away I just felt very Connected to these character in this book rather than the other book but be warned there's could be triggers for people there is is cheating in this book so beforewarned if you can't handle that then you probably should not read this book. I loved it!

My Significant Nobody- @stevie_d_parker
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story switches between our two main leads, James and Amber, owner and bartender of a swanky bar downtown, respectively. One is known for their single, playful lifestyle… where as the other has just come out from a messy breakup, ending all marriage plans.
Now, we’re all adults here, so we all know where this leads. And credit to Stevie, just like in some of her other books, she can write certain types of scenes that make you have to get the wet floor sign out.
We’ve all seen what happens when something that is supposed to be a brief affair becomes more, and then add in to the cocktail a few more people with interests… and you end up with a ghost pepper margarita.
It’s explosive, tearful, and tragic in some places.
One thing with Stevie’s books that stands out is her characters. They’re real people that we know, facing the things we do everyday. It hits home hard, and the simple yet complex nature of denial and outright lying.
Some things are better left unsaid. Some things are worth fighting for.

Always, great work Stevie ❤️

Friends to Lovers to Enemies to Lovers to ???

Amber is settled in her life with Evan. They are due to be married in six months and she is happy. That is until her life comes crashing around her with one big bang. James is her boss and is there for her when she needs him. He's a player but is that what she needs? No strings sex. Her Significant Nobody!

We all know how these things turn out in the long run though and nothing runs smooth for either of them. But will they be friends, enemies or lovers at the end of it all?

I absolutely loved this book and read it in one day. Stevie has done an amazing job with the characters dragging you completely in from the first chapter and seeing the change in both the MCs was brilliant. If you like a friends to lovers or enemies to lovers story then you must read this book. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

All we have to hope now is there is a follow on book after the next chapter - PLEASE Stevie make it happen ❤❤❤❤

After reading Stevie D. Parker's last book, Wounds of Time, I couldn't wait to pick up this one. Let's just say that it did not disappoint.

My Significant Nobody surrounds the lives of bartenders, Amber and James, who not only work together but also build a bond that every girl in the New York City area could only dream of, sex with no limits. What originally began as a pact to help Amber get over her ex-fiancé Evan, turned into a battle of fighting the natural urge of falling in love. Once James' friend, Paul, shows interest in Amber, things get a little sticky, causing their sexcapade to come to an end.

This novel sends you on some very unexpected twists and turns, leaving you on the edge of your seat desperate for more, or if you're like me...up until 2am in the morning until you fall asleep. Should you get it? Yes. Will you wish that there was more? Also, yes. But is it worth it? Hell yes!

Stevie keep writing because I need another book to add to my collection!

This was a steamy and emotional read, and I enjoyed all the ups and downs for the two main characters. Something that starts of casual between friends and coworkers (boss/employee) quickly develops into something more.

I love the idea that the universe is pulling us toward the person we are meant to be with, even if we don't know it. The characters think they will just move on after the lust runs out, but deep feelings develop and I loved seeing that on the pages.

Writing style was clear and easy to read. Everything felt very contemporary and fresh. The setting is NYC, so it totally worked with that vibe. This was a great read for me, and I think perfect for other contemporary romance lovers too!

After reading Wounds Of Times by Stevie D. Parker I was excited to see My Significant Nobody pop up on my “you might also like…” list. I’ve been in Search of a new Romantic Comedy and I knew SDP knows how to do it right. Fun, sexy, not overly mushy…just the right amount of passion and excitement between James and Amber (the lead characters.) It’s always exciting to read books that take place in my home city. The descriptions were accurate and made me miss Manhattan nightlife so much. I fell in love with James instantly (I guess Im a sucker for a bad boy.) I knew Amber would break him down despite his track record.

The first book by this author was easily my favourite read of last year so I was extremely eager to get my hands on My Significant Nobody.
Stevie did not disappoint!
Another absolutely fantastic book that dragged me in fully by the end of the first page.
The writing style is so real that you can't help but sympathise with the beautifully written characters.
I loved every moment and have added it to my physical bookshelf as another of my favourites.
I highly recommend this book with its realistic characters and their imperfect lives.
Just be ready for the book hangover that follows, its strong with this one.

After reading “Wounds Of Time” Stevie D. Parker’s debut novel, I could not wait for her second book to come out! I fell in love with the authors writing style and I loved “My Significant Nobody” just as much, if not more then the first! I felt the characters were well written, making them easy to love and relate to. The entire story is so realistic, you can really feel the emotions behind both POV’s. I normally take a few days to read a book, depending, but I honestly couldn’t put this down, and had it finished the same day!
Now I’m wondering how long I’ll have to wait before I can read more from Stevie!

Great Rom-Com

This book had me sucked in from the first chapter. It was a fun, fast paced read. I really enjoyed the story. It was sexy, funny, and even a bit emotional.

This is a story about James and Amber. They agreed to be secret sex partners, but of course, we all know how that went! I got a bit frustrated with those two, but by the end of the story, I was cheering!

I would recommend it to anyone who like to read a fun romance book and one who doesn't mind a little steam to go with it!

I am glad I was recommended to read My Significant Nobody! This Author is new to me and I rarely read the genre so, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. From the very beginning it had my attention. The 1st chapter had me laughing, shaking my head, and laughing some more. Through out the book I fell in love with the main characters and was captivated by their story even if i wanted to scream at them a few times. You could really understand where why they were doing the things or saying the things (I don't want to give spoilers) they did because of how well written this was. And the ending!! OMG! Loved it!! I can't wait to read more from Stevie D. Parker.

☆☆☆ Good read: I may not have loved it, but you might! Especially if you love a slow-burn, spicy romance.

Please keep in mind that this is not my typical choice of book. I think this is important because the author is a skilled writer, and many people who do read this genre enjoy the book. I plan to read Parker's other book -Wounds of Time- soon because I like the writing style.
I will admit; the book's first half was hard to get through! That being said, at around the 50% mark, it gets much better! I enjoyed James' perspective more than Ambers's perspective, but both were good.

Every Rule has an exception

Loved this story about Amber & James. They both have issues to be worked out. Both have been led to believe love doesn’t exist. When what they had ends up backfiring and she moves on does her start seeing what he had and lost. When things come back full circle how can he get her to realize he should have done things differently? Anxious to see what becomes of his brother and her friend.

My significant nobody: by Stevie D. Parker

I was recommend this book and I really enjoyed it. I was hooked by the first few chapters and didn’t want to put it down I had to know what was gonna happen between the characters. Grew to love them, hate them, love them again. Wanting to kick them for things they said or did. Shaking my head at them. Laughing with them. Even some tears. Loved this book. **18+**

I hated the initial idea that Amber cared for her fiance and went every night bartending and being as close to James as she was, all flirty and such...but after the Evan phase of the book i enjoyed it. The characters were well developed and the writing kept me invested in the story. Wish it was a bit longer so James and Amber's relationship could have had more detail either before they broke up initially or at the end or both.

Another amazing hot read from author Stevie D. Parker! I was excited to read this after her debut Wounds of Time. I really enjoy her writing style! Her character development and plot line are so relatable to reality.
I fell in love with with Amber and James immediately. James is the HOT player you want to tame and you want him to call DIBS on you.

I totally recommend this book and I look forward to the authors next book!

It's OK

I loved Wound of Time so diving into this one was the obvious thing to do.
While I liked James, Amber started to get on my nerves. In fact so much of what happened during her birthday weekend seemed like filler and other than meeting the guys, didn't really add to the story. The last chapter and epilogue moved the rating from 2 to 3 stars.
I will give Rob and Mia a try.
P.S. may not be the place to ask, but Vince needs another chance at happiness.

A definite page turner. I liked James from the beginning, the ultimate playboy who is honest about who he is. When you get to his part of the book, things really start to ramp up. I just love a playboy who gets his world turned upside when he falls in love (gasps). A fun couple whose rebound sex turns into much more. If you have read Parker's other books, you'll find some easter eggs in this one. A fun, light, and witty book I thoroughly enjoyed.

Fun sexy modern romance

This was a departure for me from my usual romance novels - either cute romcoms or regency romances - and it took me a couple chapters to get into it. But I found it to be a surprisingly sweet love story, with all the elements of a good romcom and a lot of steam. Definitely a “guilty pleasure” read for me.

Exciting and different

I really enjoyed reading this book, once I got to the 60% mark it was impossible to put down for me. There were slow build moments, but those were also character build times. I like a little more spice in my books, and less infidelity. Overall it was a good read and I'm happy with my purchase.

There is something completely magical about how this book draws you in and you can’t put it down. I was beyond invested into the characters and Parker’s writing never lets me down. Perfect book of the expectations the world sets on your twenties and thirties. But what if you just did what you wanted? What would that world look like? Read it NOW.

After reading Parker’s first book I am shocked at where she went with a new genre. That being said I LOVED this book!! The chemistry between Amber and James was hot, the sex scenes were just enough but not overboard. The characters suck you in from the first page. Hoping there’s a sequel!
