When you finish a story, sometimes you have to go back to the beginning to understand it. I was born Dominick Conell Meyers. I was raised by a man who didn’t love me, and a woman who was forced to claim me as her own. I left home and wandered. My heart pulled me to a city where I met a man who changed my life. My brother, Sullivan Talbot. I’d never had the love of family before he strode into my life. I had been told that home was where the heart was. Meeting Sully made my heart beat again, but it wasn’t home.

I took steps forward to find the place where I belonged. That was when I’d found Shady Grove, Grace, and Levi. Sully had awakened me, but Levi made me feel alive. The connection between us was undeniable. I never thought I’d have a best friend who was like a brother to me. Grace and her charm made me consider looking for love. Levi and Grace were a shining example to me of what good there could be if you found the right partner. It was the first time I thought, maybe, just maybe I could find it.

Following Winnie to Steelshore landed me in the arms of a woman who would betray me and my heart. But she opened a world to me that gave me glimpses of what could be. A strong pack. A leadership role that I never thought was possible.
When my real mother and father betrayed me, it didn’t hurt. I’d built my family of the people who had empowered me. When Delaney fell into my arms, I counted myself the luckiest wolf on the planet. I’d been given a gift.
Family. Home. Purpose. Love.

I had things that I never thought I’d ever had. Then, I realized that all of those things could be taken away from me in an instant. But I had changed. I wasn’t the lone wolf anymore. I couldn’t withdraw and wander. I was a fighter now. I had a reason to fight. And if it killed me, I was going to keep what was mine.

They say wolves in the wild don’t have an alpha hierarchy. Only wolves in captivity do. My cage was one I’d built for myself. My family. My home. My purpose. My love. I would tear the world apart to keep what was MINE.

Action Packed

I think this was a great conclusion to Nick's saga, and it left room for another story if the author chooses.
I also think it's safe to say that the author's favorite character is Winnie, I personally would like a story that Winnie does not take focus away from the main character. I am not saying I am not anxiously anticipating her next series, but we are being a little Winnie saturated.
I digress, the story was told in an interesting way by going through each trial and then a flash forward so we can see it is actually being written down by a Bard (I don't want to give too much away) although I feel there were some parts of the story that were rushed and some parts were underwhelming.
You can also see where the author has left little seeds for the future stories so we definitely have somethings to look forward to.
This story didn't end on a cliff hanger but it did leave me with questions and there were some parts that I had to read twice because of how they were written or the grammar/proofreading wasn't right.
All in all it was a great story and I do recommend it.

A wonderful continuation of the Dog River Wolfpack adventures with Nick and company. There's loads of characters in this one and each gets some lovely screen time.

I really enjoy the world Author Swain has created, and this is but one part of it. If you're interested in Southern (USA)-based urban/rural fantasy with mythology and fairy tale mix ins you'll want to read the early ones in this series (and the whole fictional world) before starting this one.

I'm always impressed by complexity and depth of these books and this one is no exception.

Everything comes down to this moment. Every action within the Dog River Wolfpack series, as well as many from Feathers and Fire, has led us here. Marshalling forces to activate the rest of the Norse stones and face Araxia in a final confrontation to thwart her long con, Nick and company turn the entire supernatural world on its ear. The ending is grand, as expected from a storyline this long in the making, delivering a superb culmination that left me without breath while my language turned colorful is surprise (in the good way). Outstanding conclusion.

Last one

A lot of things happen, but at the same time not enough.  We get a whole new group of being ascending to more important positions, a complete change of royalty positions, but despite all the changes, not much happens.  We get a few more betrayals, something that's so usual I can't believe it keep happening without them doing something about it, and Nick gets his woman back, even if things don't go exactly as he expected.  New secrets are revealed, but at the end, it was a little anti-climatic the way they solved things.
For everything that happened and everything that changed, I feel like everything is the same, it's hard to understand how they can have so many powerful beings there, and still make such stupid mistakes, how can the enemy be one step ahead of them, but at the same time not knowing what they are doing.  It's just that along the way, it became a little dull.  This is the last book in Nick's part of the story, and I don't feel satisfied about it.  Still looking forward to reading about the others, but hoping things get better again.

A Simple man does not live a simple life

Nick has never been able to live a simple life. Simple Man is the culmination of his journey. It has lead him to find just who and how strong he really is.
This final fight against Araxia, his mother, brings many of those close to him to realize and accept their gifts. All will be needed in order to fight and win.
While spinning this tale, Kimbra Swain has brought in and taught us many things about the Norse Gods. Once again she has written as story for all to read and to share.

Man oh man...it was not Simple

Kimbra Swain is a plot twist witch. I honestly believe that she has some super power of keeping us on the edge of our seats until the last page. I don't want to provide a spoiler but at multiple times in this book I yelled a few bad words. My last one at the end was Dang she is good (IT REALLY WAS THE OTHER ONE).

This book is not the end but a decent path to the next Trailerverse series.

Nick comes into his own

Nicks one goal is to get Delaney back from his mother. Araxia has spun an elaborate system in which to take control of all the realms. Nick has to become the leader he was born to be. He also discovers where he came from and where he has to go in order to stop His mother. Kimbra you have outdone yourself with this book that ties so much together and opens up endless possibilities.

A must read

The Trailerverse is an amazing place, and Kimbra has taken us on a wild journey. Anyone who loves urban fantasy, romance, laughter, battles, and fantasy needs to get hooked on the series! This book marks the end of the second "chapter" of books and I can't wait until the next. Kimbra writes world's to live in, to escape to, people to love and invest in, and this book has it all!

Simply amazing

Nick's story brings it all together; everyone and everything is at stake. Characters both beloved and hated are on a journey of self discovery and only through growth and acceptance will they succeed in keeping Araxia from destroying all the realms. Nick must overcome so many forces, external and internal, in order to lead them to victory. Will everyone make it through? What ramifications are in store? Season 3 will be sure to be full of even more surprises.

You're not ready....

Love the character building & watching the relationships grow. Its awesome to me to read about an entire other realm that could truly be the town next to me. Kimbra can entice your brain, entangle your heart & blow your mind. Phenomenal conclusion.... or is it???

What a ride

I might have to sue for whiplash! The emotional roller coaster in this conclusion of The Dog River Wolfpack is intense. We lose a few friends, say good riddance to a couple enemies, and fall in love with Nick, Winnie, and the rest of the crew all over again. I'm sad to see this chapter end, but glad that there are more stories from this universe in our future.

Trailerverse to Ragnarok

I have compared this Trailerverse phase two with the Templeverse and this finale wraps up most of the plots and sub plots. Friends and family, magic from multiple stories and all with underlying themes of love in all sorts of forms. Overall, I am glad to have finally read all these books and I am looking forward to the next set of stories.

Perfect Ending

This was a perfect end to this series. Ms. Swain did not disappoint. The only thing about this particular book I did not like was that it ended a series I have enjoyed.

Awesome read!

The story telling is wonderful and we get to have time with a lot of the other characters from the original group. I learned about Norse mythology and read a great story.

Fitting conclusion

Glad that Nick was able to have backing and support but also to rise on his own. We took care of most threats but there's still one looming

What a conclusion to a fantastic series! Love these characters so much! Nick has grown into an amazing leader and a man that Delaney would be proud to stand beside! This finale is amazing in how it ties things together, bringing so many story lines to outstanding conclusions, although some are sad. New powers come into play that will astound and make the reader chuckle. Get ready for quite a ride!
