After her family falls apart on a night Feyre Archeron would rather forget, she flees to the biggest start-of-summer party around at Lucien’s where the comfort of her boyfriend Tamlin awaits. But as the party drags on, Feyre begins to realize that the cracks in her life run much deeper than she realized. When she meets a rather mysterious new friend at the party with witty remarks and what seems like genuine sympathy, senior year suddenly promises to bring a whole new set of challenges and emotions that she wasn’t prepared for.

Using this book as ACOTAR (Rhys’ POV) by illyriantremors. This was so beautifully written 🥹 I enjoyed reading it and seeing what Rhys’ thoughts could possibly have been during his chapters in the first book. Def recommend if you’re struggling through an ACOTAR book hangover ✨
I saw someone else treat this Goodreads book as Rhys' POV from A Court of Thorns and Roses, and so I'm going to do the same (this way I get to rate and review it). So that being said, this review is actually for the Rhys POV chapters from ACOTAR by IllyrianTremors.
I enjoyed getting some insight into how Rhys "felt" during the crucial moments of his ACOTAR scenes. It was just an additional layer that really enhanced my reading experience. But though I enjoyed it, I only gave it 3 stars for a few different reasons.
One reason for this, is first and foremost, is we, as readers don't know how true these thoughts actually were. Which is the point of fan fiction of course, but I took stars away, just for the fact that I am not sure how much to believe of it. It was fun as a recreational little bonus, but I cant help but wonder if SJM would have wrote Rhysand in the same way. The next reason I took stars away is because of the way the fan fiction ends. Starting with the chapter when Feyre dies, and the one where they say goodbye. In this fan fiction, Rhys kept calling her his mate the throne room as she's completing the third task. But I'm almost 99% sure he didn't realize they were mates until they were on the balcony before he winnows away. So that also gave me pause and made me think about the authenticity of the rest of the chapters.
That being said, I did really enjoy this little bonus read, and I felt IllyrianTremors did a wonderful job in capturing SJM's "voice" and writing style. It did FEEL authentic, which I appreciated. And going forward, I'm extremely curious to read Mist and Fury and see how true some of the things IllyrianTremors wrote were. I also am excited to read their Rhys POV for that book as well.
Overall, this fan fiction was a fun little bonus read that adds a layer to the world of ACOTAR. I would recommend it to anyone who is on their re-read of ACTOAR, as it is enjoyable, and low commitment enough where you may as well just do it.
I saw some other reviewers use this for ACOTAR: Rhysand's POV by IllyrianTremors so I'm going to do that as well to track it on GR :)
It's always been super hard for me to get into fanfic because my brain rejects anything that isn't from the author, and it's hit or miss if a fanfic has actually good writing, but I was really impressed with this! It actually feels like something from the brain of SJM and that this is actually what Rhysand was thinking and feeling while UTM. It was super refreshing to get his POV, especially remembering that we were supposed to hate him in book 1! It was fun to revisit this after finishing the series.
I'll definitely be reading ACOMAF: Rhysand's POV from IllyrianTremors!
I'm writing a review for ACOTAR from That's perspective, not Beneath the Stars ;) I couldn't find it anywhere on goodreads, so I figured this would work to check the box on my 2023 reading challenge lol.
Anyways, its probably been 2-3 years since I first read ACOTAR and this book made me see Rhysand in a new light. I can't wait to start ACOMAF from his perspective too.
Also illyriantremors really did an amazing job at portraying SJM's voice. This didnt feel like reading a fan fiction. Instead, it truly felt like a window into That's mind.
I loved it. It was a quick, comfort read <3

The book was a few bonus chapters from "Rhysand's POV". I had a great time. The only thing that bothered me in this fanfic was that Rhysand knew before the balcony scene that Feyre was his mate. And I think in the main books by SJM, Rhysand just realized it on the balcony.
Treating this as Rhys’ POV in ACOTAR to track and review. Overall, I liked the insights it gives into his state of mind. But you don’t truly know if that’s how Sarah intended for him to feel. I also felt like this version had Rhys realize Feyre was his mate far too early compared to when he states is the case in the actual books.

rhys is perfect and these povs were just great. I loved rereading the book and then having this as supplemental to add a little ~flare~ to the original story.
