BECOME A FAERY, STAY ALIVE

When I accidentally gave Auden all of his magic back, I *may* have set myself up on a path leading toward disaster.

After all, nonmagical things can't survive in Avalon. And a faery without magic is pretty much just a human girl with way too much hair, circling Avalon's drain.

To stay alive, I'm going to have to change even more than I already have… assuming that's possible.

And if it isn't, I'm going to have to high-tail it back to Earth.

After rescuing Hannah and Elyn, of course.

Because us ex-average-human chicks have to stay together, after all.

It sounds easy:

Become a faery, stay alive.

But nothing in Avalon is as simple as it seems… including me.

Plot ⭐️⭐️

This is where I will be putting down the series. I don't feel any connection between our MCs - our FMC is under the impression until like over halfway that our MMC isn't even attracted to her. What's a slower version of a slow burn? A snail burn??? *shivers* There's some steam in the last 40 pages but that's literally it. And while Auden is super enthusiastic to please her, after Noa comes she is tired but thinks about how she should give him a handjob or a blowjob so he doesn't go to bed w blue balls and tells him BJ's aren't her favorite thing to do but she would do it for him... oh fuck off, if you aren't clawing at his pants after this long then there's something missing. That said, I'm no longer interested in reading about this couple so I will be moving on from this series. It's a shame because I really liked her other trilogy, The Shifter Queen (book 1- Soul of the Pack & my review for SotP). I'll still give this author another chance or two but this series is a miss for me.

I don’t why I started with the second book. This series feels like children’s book (no offence). And no feelings and chemistry between characters. I Dfn’d this book

Moving Forward . . .

This book was definitely a trust builder where November and Auden get closer and their relationship finally starts to come together. Their relationship is a slow build, but we’re getting there little by little. We also get more insight into the Fae world. This book ends in a cliffhanger, so start the countdown to the next awesome story!

I really enjoyed the romance development in this book. Auden is definitely a perfect partner. I really enjoyed the connection between the two characters and the way they communicated. The main characters were really great and that's what kept the book good.
The plot was a bit more messy in this one and I wish there was more world building and the pace of the story was better.

Disclaimer: Please remember that these are my opinions and if you feel differently, that’s okay. Thanks!

Notes: POV = 1st person, FMC
Main Characters: Noa really came into herself in this book. She’s adorable, a little insecure, sweet, and loyal… I like reading about her. Auden is so awkward but he’s also possessive and sweet. They are learning and growing together, Lola Glass has a gift for writing relationships.
Auden made a strangled noise that sounded ultra- weird beneath the water. “You want that?” Oh hell. Had I somehow sent him that mental picture?

Side Characters: We met these guys in Forced to be Queen, but they’re actually important in this one. I’m talking about Auden’s friends: Rollen (the Wind Fae King), Kilo, and Froet. I like his friends, and I love that we get so much side character action. We also meet the horny Lodan and I enjoy watching Noa shoot him down. Eat it up every time.
“I’ll share my life with you,” he said, opening his arms out toward me. “What the hell are you, some kind of life- sized Ken doll?” I shot at him, taking my anger out on him a bit unfairly. “Leave us alone.”

Plot/Story: Now that we’ve made it to Avalon, we have to save Hannah and Elyn. Noa and Auden will also have to figure out what the Kings and Ien are up to so that they can stop those assholes but their end goal isn’t entirely clear yet.

Romance: Their relationship started off rocky and then slowly became a friendship. These two are so awkward that it’s cute and their conversations are nice to read. I like how their relationship is evolving and I love how they support and care for each other.
The sea king didn’t so much as glance at anyone or anything else in the room; his eyes landed squarely on me and didn’t budge. “You’re alright?”

General: There are some of the usual errors in this one. Mistakes like wrong names or missing quotations. For example, on page 38, "Ellery" instead of "Elyn".

Quotes I Really Like:

Overall:
This is a nice mindless read. I prefer other series by Lola Glass, though. Like Where the Werewolves Run.

Bound to be Human is the second book in the Sacrificed to the Fae King series. This book was really a game changer for the series. We finally get to see November and Audyn start to dig deeper and fall faster into their relationship. This is truly where Lola shines with her writing, the relationships and how they grow. I couldn't stop reading this book, and I can't wait for the next installment!

(2.5 stars) - Starts well but loses its way ...

Book 2 initially does a great job of developing Auden & Noa's relationship while they find a way for her to survive Avalon.

The first half of the book is great, though Noa's assumptions about Auden instead of talking frankly to him (which is entirely her character's forte) are pretty frustrating.

Unfortunately, that's where it begins feeling like it's stalling - or being stretched - out.

Then as they FINALLY begin communicating in the second half, the book turns into peeping tom porn.

I'm totally fine with this married couple's developing romance finally leading to intimacy, just keep it no more detailed than R-rated at worst cuz I'm not interested in "watching".

And it's not as easily skippable as it could have been as multiple episodes of their exploration of their new physical intimacy are relayed in detail - - just before the author deliberately drops a very cliffhanger ending on readers.

The first half of the book was easily 4 or 5 stars, but the second half dragged it down to 2.5. I'll read the next because I want to know how it all resolves, but probably won't read more by this author since I read for entertainment not for fueling X-rated fetishes.

I really like Lola Glass books and this is no exception. Picking right up where the last left off, November is becoming a fairy, has an infected magical wound and a strange and changing bond with her Sea Fae King husband.

I liked - loved - the development of the bond between the two main characters. They are both awkward and real and working on being friends first. They feel genuine together and I like how they treat one another despite not being in love at all - yet!!

The world building ..: it’s pretty fast paced. A bit ... skippy, I guess I would call it. But it doesn’t detract from the story at all! I want November to get her piano!! And I want to see more of the secondary characters. They are kind of interchangeable to me, at this point, which is a weakness in the story. I know there are two other average girls turned fairy and they have too crummy fae husbands and one has a dog but ... yeah, they are a little blurred for me.

Loved the fairy dust development, not normal for fae type books that I’ve read and I love it!

Fae can be such assholes!

This book picks up right where Book 1 of the series left off. Auden and Noa are in Avalon; the Fae politics and machinations from the Sky and Earth Kings have begun. They want to kill Noa to get their magic back. Noa is learning to navigate her new abilities and manage her bond with her Sea King.

I enjoyed this book. It’s definitely a slow burn romance, but I’m not mad at it. Our main couple don’t even kiss until 90% of the way through book 2! But it is so sweet when they do. Initially I thought I would be bored, but I wasn’t. The plot and world building are good enough to keep me engaged. This book is really about the bond deepening between Auden and Noa. Given how horribly things have turned out for the other two human women that were sacrificed to the Earth and Sky Kings, Noa is doing extremely well.

I do lan on finishing up the series with the next book, and recommend it to others that love a good paranormal romance.

I enjoyed this installment almost as much as the first book. The slow burn of the romance continues, which I really liked. There’s more adventure in this book. A little less focus on the other two brides, but they’re present. Much less focus on the other two brides with their kings, which I kind of miss. The evolution of the other two relationships was interesting in the first book, but in this book the other two kings are bland and lost any interesting personality.

I laughed out loud every time they described needing to rescue the dog like he was a full fledged member of their group. It was a cute element.

The main enemy is a little too “evil overlord.” It’s not great. It probably would have helped if we could have understood his motivation a bit better.

Still great though. This is my third Lola Glass series and it’s my favorite by far.

Easy, slightly repetitive, but enjoyable.

I’m not a fan of those abrupt cliffhangers, regardless if the next book is complete.
I like to feel an end to the current book. Some sort of conclusion.

This was fun, but a little slow moving in places.
I did like the MMC way better this time around. Though I was still frustrated with the FMC at some points.

Plus, the story fell into a pattern of getting caught, rescued, emotion, repeat.
Would have liked more plot development, rather than random action, for the sake of angst.
While a plot did exist beneath, the action felt irrelevant to its achievement, and more like a filler. You could easily cut 2/3 and still have the story make sense.

Regardless, for the most parts, I really enjoy this author, even when the stories are a little shallow in world building.

It’s a safe, easy read mostly.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Bound to be Human, the second book in the Sacrificed to the Fae King series by Lola Glass. This series keeps getting better and better. I love that it picks up right where Ms. Glass dropped us in the first read. Things are really heating up with Noa and Auden. This read is fast paced and action driven. The drama has ratcheted up and the sexual tension can be cut with... well you know! The rules are changing for Noa, Hannah and Elyin and not in a good way. The Kings are becoming unstable, the girls must make difficult choices, Ien is still at large and Noa and Auden might have a work around. This read does not resolve... it sets you up for the third book. Mature Readers Only Please.

In this second part of Noa and Auden’s story, we get to see much more of his home world. I loved getting to meet all the other Fae and see how the world works. The world building is great as always but what I loved most was character development. We get to see Noa and Auden develop a true friendship and slowly get closer to a relationship. I liked seeing them work on things and how he helped her through this crazy process. I love how their relationship is progressing and I can’t wait for more. I love the authenticity here. There’s no insta-love or jumping into things and I appreciate that. There’s a decent amount of action in this book and I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!

This sequel picks up right where the last one left us. I really enjoyed the world building in this book and learning more about Avalon and how it all works. This was the most enjoyable part for me.

The relationship between Noa and Auden is progressing slowly and I would have liked a bit more off the bat, however I have never been a fan of the true slow burn so perhaps I am just being impatient. I like how they are building their friendship and the time they are spending to achieve this and respect they show for one another was very special to me.

The cliffhanger at the end of the book was intriguing and I am now waiting for the final book to see what happens!!

I love this series!

When I read this line I realized Lola and I could be friends:

"I wasn’t really a social person, and I’d never been one to spend a ton of time with friends, but I was empathetic. Honestly, too empathetic. I was an emotional sponge sometimes, even if I tried not to be."

There were a LOT of thoughts like this one that made me realize that I am NOT so alone. If a FICTIONAL character can be written to feel this way, and those feelings were derived by Lola, them maybe Lola felt that way at one point in her life or another. And that made me feel like I didn't feel quite so DISCONNECTED from everyone.

Thank you Lola! Seriously, Thank you!!

I would have given this a similar rating to the first as I don't feel any different, but the abruptness and how the novel could have been expanded upon lowered my enjoyment. I really liked the characters and felt all of them could have been given more screen time if everything didn't feel so rushed. I honestly wouldn't have minded a dual perspective just so we could see things from a different mindset. The two MCs were pretty cute and it was interesting seeing how they grew through each other. I'm not keeping my hopes high for the next book as it looks just as short, but I am intrigued how the author plans to tie anything up, even when nothing has really been explained fully.

In this book, we finally get to see some steam! While the last book was largely us getting to know November and world-building, this book focuses much more on her romantic relationship with Auden. Their relationship is definitely in my top three fave Lola Glass couples. Auden really listens and shares with November, and they respect each other so much and that really shines through all their actions.

This book also gives us lots more background on the fae world and what it means to be fae! I am loving this series and can’t wait to see what happens next to all the Queens.

"Bound to be Human"  is the second instalment in the 'Sacrificed to the Fae King'  series.

I honestly enjoyed this book much more than the first volume. I loved the story, it felt as if a movie was being played and I just wanted it to go on and on.
I actually admire and cherish the friendship between the girls and absolutely loved the slow friendship plus romance between Noa and Auden it was beautiful and cute at the same time.
I'm quite excited about the next book in the sequel and to know how does the story border.

I feel like this book was torture. Let me explain why I feel this way. The main characters had to go through more torture, they forced more fae to be reborn by killing them and it just escalated. The main torture was seeing the main characters slow burn romance it was such torture…. But it was so good. Ended on a cliffhanger but one that makes me wanna read it asap. Can’t wait for the next book. Lola Glass has truly embraced a new type of world but brought all the great writing skills that we have loved in her previous series.

Devastated the third in series not available.

Well I'm bored now. Honestly if I'd have checked and seen it wasn't a complete series I would have waited before reading. But now I'm left wanting. I'll admit I'm a stubborn reader if I can't get into a story within the first 5 chapters I give up on it, and if it doesn't fully engage me, take me out of my environment and whisk me away then I won't leave a review. I fell in love with these characters and was honestly gutted to find I had to wait just a single week before I could find out what was next in Noa and Auden's story.

Very good book. High action lot of tension. It is really great that its not boring for a min and keeps the attraction high up.
And even a lot of pep talk by the hetoine its not annoying. So great job LG!
And with this ending?! Or course Im in for book3!!!
Ps. I luv that you changed the cover. If going by the previous I would have never picked it up but Im so glad I did!!! And again the new cover is an additional Great Work Award from me ;) So a 4 star for the content only! Plus a look&feel cover star :D

I'm a bit torn. The storyline is new and interesting, tho November seems to be a little shalow in her worldview. Particularly, where Hannah was holding hand with other fae and she was like: "ooo, they're holding hands, I have to keep my disdain for cheaters in check."
Like... girl your "not-anymore-average" friend is in abusive marriage and you are disturbed she's holding hands with someone else (who comfort her).
Okay. This line stuck to me to the end of the book and no amount of hot fae passionate hugging would fix that.

Love it!

Loving Auden and November so much. Despite their arranged marriage and quite a learning curve in their relationship it’s a pleasure to see them first grow comfortable with one another, then fond, to caring to respect and friendship. The rest of the story is fantastic as well, the fae world is an interesting place, the culture so foreign, I hope the human turned faery’s make some much needed changes once the evil fae are vanquished and they have a chance to take a breath. Looking forward to the resolution to see how it all plays out!!

Bound to be Human

Noa and Audens relationship grows immensely in this book. The trust and the way she starts caring and worrying more about him and his sanity is a enemies to lovers dream in books. But it happens so slowly that it was amazing to watch the buildup leading to the friendship and then possibly more? This book though had it all, other fae males, fighting, lots of magic, adventure, kidnapping and saving, touch her and die. Another book I couldn't stop reading just like book one.

Great second book

I loved that the bond between the two main characters built slowly. Seemed natural and not forced or too predicament. I also enjoyed that the MMC didn't start out manipulating the FMC. He is grumpy but a total green flag. Which is a great vibe for this book. He doesn't really understand all his feelings for the FMC but they communicate well which is wonderful. I also enjoyed the slower roll out of the overall evil scheme happening.
I had a lot of fun reading this book.

This is the second book in the series and it picks up right where the first one ends. This book was definitely a trust builder between Auden and Nova. Their relationship finally starts to come together and they actually see each other in a more personable way. We also learn alot more about the Fae lifestyle and world. This second book was definitely a building block in the series and I loved the character/ relationship building that took place.

I cannot get enough of this author. I love the way she writes and I am HOOKED!!!! I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
I loved reading this second installment of Fae and Fairy. And cannot wait for the next one. It ends on a cliffhanger.
I love all the characters, but I feel that i have bonded to Auden and November's characters the best. I love them. I love the storyline.

I really hate that I have to wait for book 3 to find out what happens. ;( This book started where book 1 left off. Auden and Nova start building there trust, also their friendship and relationship are starting to work out. I love how the author takes you through Auden and Nova's journey. They find that they are stronger together.

So good!!!

I'm really loving this series so far, I love the slow burn between November and Auden it's a nice enemies to friends it's not those dragging out their feelings and annoying you, they are genuinely trying to get to know eachother.... you think at the beginning of book 1 that November got the worst king but quickly discover that even though he can be broody she definitely got the best!!!
Can't wait to read the final book
Definitely recommend reading 📚
