In short, this is a story about a dumb author who wrote a cannibalistic story which started as a stallion story, who in the end was unable to escape the whirlpool of destiny (not really).

😅 Gu Bai's inner monologues are an absolute delight to read, and his subtle mockery of stallion novels is downright hilarious. The twist where he unknowingly adopts a teenager, only to discover it's the very villain he's been trying to avoid for years had me laughing out loud. I've been craving something similar to SVSSS, and this story hits the mark perfectly, though with an added twist: the male lead is a psychopathic, obsessive, mass-murdering lunatic. He's like a black-flag version of Luo Binghe. To give you a sense of just how utterly unhinged the ML is, here’s a brief snippet from his POV:"

"He wanted Zi Che Shu Bai to be doused in his scent from inside to outside, he wanted Zi Che Shu Bai to thoroughly understand who he belonged to.

But even if he were toyed with and violated like so, Zi Che Shu Bai still looked cold and noble, like the snow on a mountaintop.

It was as if…… he still didn’t completely have him.
This feeling made Qi Guan Rui indignant, he wanted to do it even harsher, penetrate him even further, and go even rougher.

Even if they’d already done it for three days and nights, he still wanted to continue, he still wasn’t satisfied.

…… if he swallowed him into his stomach, would that allow him to keep him forever?"

One word - unhinged. I feel like fiction is usually imaginative but this novel somehow brings it to the extreme. It's a pretty typical "I transmigrated into the cannon fodder who will be brutally murdered by the protagonist". While it starts off pretty interesting at first, I got really... dulled by the increasingly cringe MC. His monologues felt a little unnecessary but it may bring some light chuckles to others.

ML is really psycho, and this is repeated by MC many times. But imo, original MC felt more psycho.. so I guess the one we received It's pretty ok. ML was so OP that there really wasn't a challenge to anything. Other characters just felt so noob and lackluster (unless they are in ML and MC's party).


I guess it was pretty fluffy. some light mentions of smut but not too explicit. okay read, but really got draggy towards the end. BUT the ending felt a little abrupt. The extras made me realised that there were so many plot holes not closed in the main story. really recommend the extras.

A story about an Author going to into his first book, catching the attention of the protagonist (he was trying not to) and then gets into a relationship with sad protagonist. So it's a funny story, I enjoyed Gu Bai a lot. He's kinda a idiot and I love it when he outwardly acts cool and composed while inwardly making sure his robes are free of dirt so he can make sure his image is a cool as possible.

The male lead only has eyes for Gu Bai and is a walking red flag... but I knew that while reading the synopsis of the story. He is possessive, controlling, sneaky, and that's just the start.

The ending however ehhhhhhhhh. The extras made up for it...kinda

It's not the best Chinese novel, but I enjoyed reading it

this was just so mid lmao. the character’s were pretty two dimensional. the mc is painfully oblivious and you know its bad when i don’t like it cause i love oblivious characters.. the ml is like a full on psychopath that’ll even imprison the mc just to own him. it wasn’t attractive at all and it just got boring.
