Eight years ago, Gideon Lawrence Moody fell in love. He just didn’t know it yet.

Gideon has been sending his favorite Hollywood heartthrob fan mail for eight years. Every postcard he sends makes him feel a little closer to his first and forever crush. And it’s okay that it will never be real. A boy can still dream, and dreams are plenty when they include Harley Castle…

Eight years ago, Harley Castle got everything he ever wanted. He just didn’t know it yet.

Harley—or Cedric H. Livingston, as he was known before getting his big break—shot to stardom so fast it felt like riding lightning, and every moment in the spotlight has been exactly what he always dreamed of. Except for the one thing that’s missing. The one thing that he can almost pretend is real, each and every time he hears from his biggest fan…

Your Biggest Fan is a 38,000-word picture perfect gay romance novella about a shy dreamer who isn’t as invisible as he always assumed, a star who’s determined to finally shine the spotlight on love, and the kind of happily ever after that can only happen with a little help from Bridezilla, a few not-so-long walks on the beach, and the kind of family who frequently mistakes real life for a musical.

This novella is: very cute, all about Love at First Sight (or first postcard?), and utterly unbelievable. But I enjoyed it anyway.

I liked the MCs and the secondary characters, especially Gideon's friend, Andy. Gideon's entire family was pretty awesome.

My one criticism is that Stella Starling overdoes the internal monologues to the point they interrupt the story. Here we are in the middle of dialogue when one MC goes on a tangent in his head, and four pages later, we get back to the dialogue. Truth be told, I skimmed through some of these monologues because they were repetitive and exhausting.

It’s been a hot minute since I last read a story by the writing duo that makes up Stella Starling, but it was good to be back in the sappy-sweet world of strong happily-ever-afters that these authors are so well known for.

In this 93-page free story, readers must suspend a bit of disbelief to immerse themselves in this super sugary romance about a Hollywood A-lister, Harley Castle, who falls for an admirer, Gideon Moody, through the encouraging fan-mail Gideon sends unwaveringly since the early days of Harley’s acting career.

If you’re able to embrace the fairytale-like feel of a superstar falling for an avid fan, and you don’t mind a bit of sappiness and insta-love, then this should work a treat for you, as it worked for me.

The ending was slightly off—possibly the most unbelievable element of the whole thing—but, otherwise, this was the kind of starry-eyed, celebrity romance—simple, sweet and heart-warming—that I couldn’t help but be wrapped up in.

Rumour has it Gideon’s sassy, no-filter bestie, Andy, is getting his own story at some point, and I must say, I’m here for it!

I am not usually a fan of celebrity romance. There is just something usually so shady about the stories. Celebrity meets normal, everyday person and upends their life for love. Plus, there always is some sort of villain trying to ruin everything. But none of that happened in this book thank goodness! This read just as a sweet and magical true love story and if you just stay with that feeling it was lovely.

Give this a chance!

I almost DNF’d this one because there was way too much dialogue and way too much focus on other characters (who were all so annoying). Once you get past that and get to the meet cute…perfection. Harley and Gideon together made me swoon. If it had just been them and their scenes, then this novella would have been 4 stars. I’m not always into sappy, but this story often felt like it was doing it on purpose in a way that made it feel so right. Cute cute cute.

Imagine you write fan mail to your favorite actor … and keep doing so even after you grow out of this fanboy age and faithfully bombard him with your personal thoughts and family drama for 8 years. And one day – he is standing in front of you with a stack of well-read letters in his hand, expecting you to be his soulmate.

This was one of the most unrealistic meet-cutes I’ve ever encountered. Starstruck. Creepy. Cringe-worthy a hundred times. But I loved the idea of the underdog scoring the big prize. So, despite postcard writer Gideon coming over as dull and simple minded, and action star Harley coming over as very creepy with lots of (I am sure not intended) dom vibes, I liked it.

One really has to be in the mood to go with the flow, and I could have imagined some ways to make this a bit more believable (like the meeting is organized as a PR gig), but Stella Starling’s writing is good enough to pull this off, well done.

I have to finish this review; I have to write 8 years’ worth of fan mail to Kevin Costner. And Bruce Willies, Ryan Reynolds, Will Smith, and John Cusack just to be on the safe side. Boy, I wished I had known 8 years ago!!!

YOUR BIGGEST FAN was so fluffy and sugary sweet and it made my heart feel ten times larger. Gideon and Harley were so precious and I really enjoyed their romance even though they're pretty much already in love before they ever meet. The circumstances surrounding their relationship were completely unrealistic and over the top adorable but I can't find it in myself to care. This was just such a feel good romance with a nice dose of spice and lots of devoted love. I'm definitely going to be reading more by this author!

Favorite Quotes:

And Gideon? Now that Harley had found him, his gut was telling him that Gideon wasn’t just one of those perfectly right things, but maybe even the most perfectly right one.

“You should… should go. It sounds important?”

“You’re important,” Harley said, as if he was bound and determined to ruin Gideon’s heart for anyone but him.

I wasn't certain about this book as Stella Starling is a new-to-me author. The story seems a bit silly at first, but then I got hooked in. This is a sweetly charming -- or maybe that should be charmingly sweet -- story that really hits you in the feels. If you're looking for a delightful bit of romance, you won't find better anywhere else.

(muttering) I *really* need to find more stories by this author.

This was a very sweet and short story. I liked it, but it was really completely unbelievable. I don’t expect fictional stories to be based on fact, but it’s hard to imagine a movie star would fall in love with a fan just from correspondence. I also thought the story seemed rushed.

1.5 stars.... because be careful what you wish for.... and I wanted something sweet easy angst-free to read... yeah.... and dived in to the deep end of most cheesiest hallmark movie EVER!
How did I finish this, I ask myself, and have no idea how...? Why? How?
So this book is about stalker boy who writes postcards to movie star for 8(?) years. And about movie star, who is in midcarrier crisis, and decides to look for this stalker boy. Maybe he is cute and could become happily ever after for him.
In what delusional universe is this happening?
The boy is beautiful, the sex is phenomenal, propose (in joking pose) after day one, change your whole life after two days.
Are you f kiding me? Maybe he is hiding dead bodies in his closet, maybe he is major creep, maybe ... I don't know 10000maybies😳😳😳😮😮😮😮
But noooooo get on one knee and propose while whole world is watching and you are disrupting major award event.
Because it's romaaaaaaaance🤮🤮

Very sweet and entertaining. Lots of sugar, absolutely no drama, no miscommunication, this is an angst free fun story and I really loved it.
Big movie star gets fan mail since he played his first role in a small town musical. After 8 years he travels to the small seaside village the postcards are coming from, to meet his biggest fan.
It's love at first sight and utterly ridiculous, but still I had a great time reading this. 3.5 stars

This has to be one of the sweetest and most hopeful stories I’ve read in years. I laughed and I cried. I don’t want this story to end. Just like Gideon never wanted his story with Harley to end. I hope 🤞 that Ms Starling can find it within herself to write a sequel and share exactly what the strings were that Harley pulled with the studio, how Gideon came to find his dream career in Hollywood, how wonderful their wedding and honeymoon turned out to be, and how incredible their lives are together! Also… did Harley win that damn Academy Award?!?! 😁

Honestly, I usually avoid these kinds of stories because it's hard to read about someone being a celebrity and then actually feeling it. I don't know how to explain that so I'll just move on. But – yes there's a but – I gave this book a chance and let me say I wasn't disappointed. The chemistry between the leads is what actually kept me going because it was so THERE, like all up in my face. The romance is amazing and it's been a while since I found a book that made my inner hopeless romantic reermerge, no matter how unrealistic some factors in the story were. Things were just too simple and as someone who hates too much fluff but adores angst, it was refreshing to see what other readers see in these sappy stories.

I think if it wasn't for the level of romance I found in this cute story, then I doubt I would have read it because almost nothing challenging happens. Overall, it was an awesome read and I definitely recommend. Loved it!

A fairy tale come to life starts when Gideon watches Harley as a young actor in Grease onstage, and falls in love. His coming out and subsequent fan letter writing and one sided pen pal relationship lead to years of sharing his life.

Harley reads every letter, and while in the closet, listens to the advice of his number one fan. When they finally meet, the stars align, and they feel like they already know each other. Harley puts Gideon first, not his career, and they start a life together making their dreams come true.

Fun, light story, over the top with the insta love and mush, but the characters are cute and cuddly, like teddy bears. Penelope is the best!

I'm 100% a sucker for any romance that has the trope of characters having to write to each other, so this was right up my alley. Samples of the fan mail Gideon sends to Harley can be found in between each chapter, allowing us to really see just how much Gideon confides in the Hollywood star. Is it really sweet and a bit far-fetched? Absolutely. But this book completely delivered on a swoony, fairytale-esque romance, and sometimes I just need that. I also love an opposites attract, especially if one of the characters has a geeky vibe, book as well, and this book did the trope well.

This was straight up the plot of like every Wattpad fanfiction… good thing for the author I happen to love fanficiton. Okay personally was this a bit cheesy and goofy? Sure but it was short enough that it was enjoyable, long enough that it was fun, and just a bit spicy.

I liked how unsure of himself Gideon was and Harley taking his name from G was great but I REALLY wish we would have gotten the scene where Harley tells Gideon he basically named him.

2/5 on spice. 1/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears. If this was me and Henry Cavill or Blake Lively I think I’d act the same way tbh.

Celebrity guy meets regular guy stories typically make me cringe, usually they’re overtly cheesy and the instalove format is completely unlikely and unrealistic.

This story was different in that the celebrity, Harley, has been receiving postcards from his biggest fan, G, for years and as a result he felt a connection to G that steered the story away from instalove and more towards fated love.

I liked it, it was cute and I liked all the sideline characters too.

Dnf @ 77 %.

I was not this books Biggest Fan.

The relationship and feelings develops too quickly and the characters are very one-sided.

I got tired of reading about Harley being sure Gideon (whom he met a few days prior) is it for him. And Gideon was just so flustered all. The. Time.

I might have felt different, if the had been penpals, but it felt like a parasocial relationship turned whirlwind romance.

Sqee! This is a gorgeous, sweet, romantic insta-love story, and I love insta-love. Harley and Gideon are totally adorable in this all too short story. There were only two things that spoiled it for me, first we have Penelope, Harley's personal assistant, bitching, bossing, and moaning, then we get Cordelia, aka bridezilla, stomping her feet and having tantrums, and I was starting to think "Are all the women in this town like this!!".

Loved it and thought it was very sweet. However, I would have loved less inner monologues and more conversation between the two main characters. I also didn't like Penelope. I get she had a brash personality but it came across as rude mostly. The only thing I liked about her is when she finally makes Harley see he can have everything he wants now.

The Stella Starling world is a happy, mostly angst free place where love always wins. Fluffy and full of sugary sweet romance, the stories are uncomplicated, feel good reads that will put a smile on your face.

In Your Biggest Fan, Gideon is captivated when he sees Harley Castle perform in the musical, Grease. When his sister finds his address online, Gideon takes the leap to send Harley fan mail. Eight years later, Harley decides it's time to track down his biggest fan.

Hot damn. This was fantastic. I may be your biggest fan now, Stella, because this had me swooning, giggling and smiling the whole way through. It's not perfect but it's definitely a feel good romance with likeable characters and an amusing storyline. I loved the Moody family with their nosiness and love of musicals and I adored the easy acceptance they had of everyone and everything.

Perfect read to kick back and relax with. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

This was… fine.

I liked the premise a lot, and I liked Harley and Gideon, but I found most of the secondary characters unbearable. It’s a quick read, pretty cute, fulfills the HEA requirement I’ve got going on right now. But I felt like a lot of the characters were juvenile and some of the writing seemed disjointed.

Just not my cup of tea, I suppose.
