In "The Creation," E. O. Wilson appeals for leaders in religion and science to join forces to save our endangered planet. Whether one believes that life on Earth is six thousand years old or over half a billion, the need for cooperation increases as the danger to The Creation grows more imminent. The moral authority of religion and the technical expertise of science have a better chance of reaching people together than they do apart. What a shame if we should destroy our planet, this diverse world with such a small fraction of biodiversity cataloged, before we even appreciate what a beautiful and intricate world we have borrowed from our descendents.
