As the sex contract between Mason and Charlotte develops, Mason is starting to care too much about someone who should be only his revenge.
After the fire in the previous book, Charlotte is seeing a part of Mason she never imagined, and the contract is not what makes her keep going to his house on every fridays.

descriptiondescription

Everything is going so well, Mason has Van Kempt's company, he has Charlotte, and he starts to think why not?
Until Charlotte's parents tell the press they are in a sexual contract and in the way, exposing their own daughter.
This ends with a cliffhanger.

This is a continuation of Charlotte and Mason's evolving relationship. Opens where book 1 left off.

This was little more filler really. Charlotte dealing with her relationship with her parents and the struggle of her feeling with Mason and loyalty.

I did find myself skimming the intimate scene's quite a bit. Got a little too much for me and repetitive. But again that's my take and perspective.

Again love the family dynamics. This adds so much to why I am engaged in this story as well as invested.

Did have some mystery and suspense as well.

I was looking forward to the continuation of Charlotte and Mason's intense story. It's steamy and intriguing. Keeps you guessing and wanting more.

I have loved Charlotte from the start. She is selfless and would do anything to help her family. That's how she found herself with a standing (or kneeling) date with the devil himself every friday evening. Mason has not made any step of their "relationship" easy. Keeps wanting more of her body, her mind, her soul. Takes so much, but doesn't give much of himself in return.

Lines start getting even more hazy and unclear. What was just a contract obligation has developed into something neither of them were ready far. Walls are still up around their hearts.
Can Charlotte trust that Mason is doing all this for another motive and can Mason finally trust enough to let someone in?? Can revenge turn into something real like love?

I love the family dynamic with Mason and his siblings. We get to know them even more so in this book. This story was packed pull of hot scenes, a hero who you're either gonna love or hate (but in this book we do get more of a glimpse into his mind and heart. You'll understand him a little bit more and your heart will soften towards him) and a heroine who is willing to sacrifice every part of herself for others who aren't deemed worthy of it.

Amelia Wilde continues to impress with her latest book in the Wealth Trilogy, Hostile Takeover. Mason Hill and Charlotte Van Kempt's dirty and unconventional romance is still the main star of the show and I loved how much they have transformed since the last time I saw them. The story got even better—more emotional, angsty, and dirtier. The love scenes between Mason and Charlotte were scorching and burned up the pages. Mason is such a complex character and I loved how he felt more “human” in this installment. He is still cruel and continues to humiliates her in the bedroom but Charlotte actually needs and craves that from him—they both do, shockingly.
"Do you think you can save me? Maybe that's why you want me… You want me because I'll break your sweet little heart."

Charlotte has experienced a lot of character growth, emotionally and sexually, since the last book and she now knows exactly what and who she wants. Although Charlotte still retains that naivety and innocence that Mason loves, there is also another side to her that craves the darkness Mason inflicts on her. Besides the spicy scenes, the developing romance between Charlotte and Mason has become one my favorite parts about this series so far. Amelia Wilde has this amazing ability to write some incredibly emotional and heartbreaking scenes as well as highly erotic ones. In addition to the romance, Charlotte's family continues to provide additional tension, frustration, and angst between the two due to their role in the death of Mason's parents. I absolutely despise Charlotte’s parents and hope they get what’s coming for them. At times, I couldn't help but feel hopeless because Mason and Charlotte had so many barriers and obstacles working against them.

"In this one moment, he's mine. For this little flash of time, he belongs to me."

In the end, I absolutely loved this book because of the heartbreaking romance and uncertain future between Mason and Charlotte. Their relationship is so complicated and messy but it works for them. Amelia Wilde has become one of my favorite and go-to authors because of her writing style, story, and characters, and sexy love scenes. The book does end with a cliffhanger that will have you gasping for more because I certainly did. I'm hoping that Amelia will write books for Mason's siblings (Gabriel, Jameson, and Remy) in the future because I adored their relationship with each other. I highly recommend this series to those who love the contract and revenge romance trope with a complex and sometimes cruel anti-hero who has come to need his sweet and kind heroine—even while he defiles her in the name of revenge.

"Don't become him," Charlotte whispers. It nearly undoes me, the begging note in her voice. "Don't let him turn you into this."

Ever since finishing Net Worth I have been not-so-patiently waiting for its follow up. Following the Cornerstone fire, everything is pretty much turned upside down for Mason and Charlotte, and Mason is out for blood. It's no secret that Mason is gunning for Charlotte's father, after what he did to Mason's parents all those years ago.

I have to say, I struggled with Charlotte in the first book. I felt like she could not have been more blind to who her father was, blood or not. But in this book, I was glad to see her have more of a backbone and stick to her gut instincts more. I also loved how she didn't hold back when it came to Mason, regardless of the consequences.

"Do you think you can save me? Maybe that’s why you want me. That’s what they say, isn’t it? That a woman’s always looking for her father? You want me because I’ll break your sweet little heart.”

Charlotte slaps me. A stinging direct hit. She didn’t hold back. “Stop.”

And Mason, though try as he might, cannot help his developing feelings for Charlotte, and I was freaking here for it!! There's nothing I love more than watching an anti-hero thaw to his heroine. I did feel for the guy in this one, where as I kinda thought he was an ass in the first book. He's pretty much carrying the weight (and the guilt) of the world on his shoulders and it's beginning to wear on him bigtime.

"I couldn't stop myself from falling. And I can't stop myself from kissing her, stealing the rest of her words for myself."

774011

And, people? This book is HOT! Holy shit! Like, explosive hot.

Let's just say, there are hands, belts, toys...and a tie. And Mason was a filthy, dirty talker.

“Such a good, sweet little thing. Two fingers in your tightest hole. Oh, I felt how much you liked that.” He brushes a kiss to the shell of my ear and pulls his fingers out. “Are you saving your tears for my belt?”

13247994

I always struggle with book 2 of trilogies because I often feel like they consist of mainly filler material. While this installment was definitely not that, there were a few times, particularly in the first half of the book, where I didn't feel that the story was moving forward. Later on in the book, that was definitely not the case. And Mason's continuous use of the "sweet little thing" endearment began to grate on my nerves personally. I think this is a me thing though, because I read many reviews where the readers said they loved this. I don't mind the endearment itself, but it just felt like it was used to the point of overkill here.

However, those were my only struggles. I LOVED the key moments of intimacy we got between Charlotte and Mason.

“You’re lying to my face. And honestly, I don’t care. I’m not leaving. You can act like an asshole, if you want, but I’m not leaving. Because I love you.”
The words charge the air with electricity. His eyes burn. “Stop it.”
“I love you, Mason Hill.”

Blank_800_x_800

But happiness and peace are two things that have thus far been short lived in this world, so things come to a head in the end and finish on a cliff hanger. So once again I will be NOT SO PATIENTLY waiting for my next fix of these characters. The ending sets the stage for a huge showdown where really no one is safe. And I can't wait!!

I highly recommend this series to fans of edgy, dark-ish stories with broken characters and lots of quality sexy times!

When Charlotte Kempt connected with Mason Hill neither knew what exactly would happen. Each had an agenda, one of sacrifice for what she thought was a greater good, the other looking for the ultimate revenge.

Neither happened because the draw between these two was more than either of them could balance.
Neither could compartmentalize their feelings although they tried to hide them. Only when they allowed their true selves out did they know deep down, they were connected on another level.

Hostile Takeover takes this couple through so many twists and turns, so many moments between them where we know things have progressed to being a real relationship...yet it also puts the reader through a ringer or two.

Be prepared, Amelia Wilde isn't playing...she has so much more in store for this couple and us, the readers.

This was a great continuation of the last book. I was a little nervous about Charlotte at first. She was making me a little upset that she was taking up for her dad. Don't get me wrong, I realize it's her dad, but still. But thankfully, it turned around relatively quickly for me. She started to stand by Mason and wanted to help him.

Mason, I thought I loved him in the first book, but I love him more after this one. We get to see so much more of him and his defenses start to break down little by little. Charlotte is a good match for him. She is fighting for him and he needs someone like that.

I wasn't expecting the ending though! I didn't see it going in that direction. Can't wait to read the next one!!

Oh my gosh how I love Mason Hill!!! We got glimpses of the man behind the “monster” in the first book but in this one - we got the vulnerability and sweetness lying beneath the surface and I was loving every minute! I really enjoyed Charlotte as well as she really grew up in this book and I felt like she really balanced Mason. This second book really developed their relationship and the chemistry between them was still FIRE! I loved the revelations that came out in this book and I could totally feel Mason’s conflict between his feelings for charlotte and his need for revenge. I also really loved the family dynamics and how these two naturally “extended” their contract. I am loving this series so much and can’t wait for more!!

"This is corporate warfare. And Charlotte? She's my prisoner of war."

Amelia Wilde is back with Hostile Takeover the second book in the series and I'm hooked!

This picks up right after the explosive ending of the first book. This book follows Charlotte trying to decide who she should stand by, her father or the man she can't help but be attracted to.

Amelia Wilde continues to keep me hooked on Charlotte and Mason's story. I'm obsessed with their relationship. It's full of passion and I'm rooting for them. This ending has me shocked and I'm so excited for book 3!

Oh Mason... He give me so many feelings in this book. And Charlotte, she pose amazing strenght and heart here.

I lusted just into early chapter from their angry public smegsi.
How the author devoting their sexy, steamy, dirty, filthy, rough, at times also sweet, with degradation kink and absolutely dirty talk smegsi scenes in pages after pages... Ohlawwwdy its 🔥🔥

I ache for the heartbrake, lost, physically hurt that Mason endure. A burden he carry him self from young age to the man he is today.

I cheer for Charlotte for her bravery standing up from her parents greeds and ploy. I love how she's so brave with her feelings toward Mason.

I cried when Mason slowly open his heart for her.
I cried in the cemetary.
I cried again on my knees for Mason heartbreaking self guilt.
And lusted all over again for how they need each other in their own way.
I wanna cuddle charlotte in bubble away from her evil parents and the world for what they have done to her.

Hostile Takeover is on pointly written. Fast pace, steamy, perfectly tailored with angst and drama, broken H and strong h, the war in the final book would be epic!

For the love of all that is hot and bothered! I am still panting! And MAD AF! In this book.... everything is out in the open with Charlotte's parents..... and like the true society viper she is, Mrs. Van Kemp has no problem using anything and anyone to get her way. As if they didn't already cause so much trouble, they are in it cause some more. Meanwhile Charlotte and Mason turn up the heat to scorching levels! And she begins to worm her way into his heart a little more each time they are together! The cliffy at the end has me seeing red! And I am ready for the conclusion NOW!!!

This book has made an hostile takeover in my head with the incredible story of Charlotte and Mason.

The story started with Revenge in the air, Mason going to every path to get what he is owed. But no one, not even Mason could have predicted their heart will play them for good. Seriously,  I enjoyed it so much.
One thing that I absolutely adored was the Mason's family dynamics.  The way siblings bonded, the love, the hate.

The story was packed full of heat and the chemistry between Mason and Charlotte was to die for...I am literally salivating for more of their story.

I was so excited to Get to read the continuation of Mason and Charlotte’s story! I thought I couldn’t love these two more than I did in the first book but I was wrong Mason definitely shines this time around for me. I loved getting to see a different side to him and getting a more in-depth look this man is fierce and loyal and fights for what he wants. Charlotte is helping with that and she is standing by his side which is helping bring down some of those walls he’s built up so high. These chemistry between these two still burns up the pages. We still get all the angst, drama, passion, steam and all the feels you could ever want. This author has some of the most spicy/sexy/steamy scenes I have ever read and the way she draws you into the scene has you panting for more. I can definitely say I was not expecting that ending, I need to know where this story is heading and I’m so excited to read the next book.. Another fantastic read from this author.

Amelia Wilde is playing a game with us readers. It is called " Make My Readers Fall Harder For My Alpha Heroes In Each Book". And let me tell you, we are failing miserably and I am totally ok with that. I thought Mason Hill couldn't get any better or more alpha or more heartbreaking. But Amelia proved me wrong. Hostile Takeover an extravaganza of passion, emotions and suspense. Be ready to get your mind blown.
.
Mason Hill, the billionaire alpha, has bound Charlotte Van Kempt in a tight contract. To be his to dominate and seduce and control in return of saving her family business. And vengeance is fuelling every decision. Mason need to destroy her family for ruining his family. And Charlotte is supposed to be a pawn. But she is becoming so much more. So much is at risk. Mason's already broken heart. Charlotte's vulnerable side that wants to protect the monster.
.
Amelia Wilde has perfected the art showing the brutal and stunning contradictions of vulnerability and arrogance in her alpha heroes. And that's why I love Mason Hill even more in this story. He has a dark past and he has sacrificed himself over and over again for his family. He has power and money but his heart is a war zone. He wants to punish Charlotte and own her body and yet he cannot deny her calming effect in his stormy life. Charlotte should hate the man who forced her into an unfair contract and wants to destroy her family. But she craves his dominance and control in her chaotic life. She is falling for the broken man behind this aloofness and broody mask. She is fierce and soft and so amazing to see the real Mason and try to make his wounds hurt less.
The chemistry is uber hot. Amelia Wilde delivered so much filthy, dirty and kinky hotness that had me salivating badly. This story is high on intense emotions and my heart is breaking into tiny pieces for them. Mason and Charlotte together are sinful and unpredictable and all consuming. That cliffhange was pure torture.

.
If you love Alpha heroes and have not read Amelia Wilde, you are missing something spectacular and extraordinary.

Hostile Takeover
Written by: Amelia Wilde

I have never ended an Amelia Wilde book and been totally at a loss for words!

Take that in; this story, these characters, this writer left me speechless!

In Hostile Takeover readers get everything that is about to set off a corporate war and I for one want a birds eye view of what will occur in book three.

Cyrus Van Kempt is confronted about the past and the present, not pretty but at least we learn some of the truth. Victoria Van Kempt, well, is she a lizard who has adapted to her surroundings or does she know more than she’s telling; either way do you want her as your mother?

It’s Mason himself who reveals the most though and it’s not pleasant. Injured, parentless and three younger siblings he does what he needs to do to keep his family together. The damage is does to him though, physically and mentally it’s coming back to haunt him. He may survive all that is to come, but will Charlotte? Will betrayal be all that she knows from people she thought she could trust?

Mason, Charlotte and the Hill siblings are going to be in the fight of their lives. Will they all survive? Are we waiting for a white knight or better yet will Dev Madden come up with all the ammunition they will need to take down not just the Van Kempt’s but also the others involved in the fire that killed James and Natalie Hill? Will the other three names who signed off on the setting of the original fire that killed end up paying for that despicable deed?

I know we have to wait for Binding Contract book three of this series. The small battles have been fought…it’s time for war! Who will survive and who will finally pay the dues they owe?

✅Billionaire romance
✅Forced relationship
✅Enemies-to-lovers
✅Damaged hero
✅Revenge
✅Part of series
✅Cliffhanger

Mason has been on a mission since he was a teenager. His plans have included protecting and raising his three younger siblings and getting revenge for the deaths of his parents.

His revenge plans have been focused on one man in particular. His fathers best friend. The man who is responsible for his death. The man who offered no help to Mason or his siblings. What Mason had never expected, was his daughter, Charlotte.

Forcing her into a contracted sexual relationship with him was icing on the cake. Revenge has never tasted so sweet as it does when he is with her. Or, at least it did taste sweet, until he fell for her.

“Once you’ve started falling, there’s no stopping. That’s the bullshit law of the universe. Once a body is plummeting through thin air, it’s at the mercy of gravity. It will continue to fall until something breaks that fall, whether it’s a carpeted floor or a slab of concrete forty feet down. It can’t be denied. It can’t be changed. I couldn’t stop myself from falling. And I can’t stop myself from kissing her, stealing the rest of her words for myself.”

As these two wrestle with their feelings for each other and whether or not what they is real, they must begin to deal with the past and what that means for them.

Both are firmly placed on opposites sides of a war that neither started, but as time marches on, the lines begin to blur for Charlotte. And at the end of the book we are faced with such a brutal betrayal to her that I wonder if these two will be able to wade through its aftermath.

I’m eager to read the conclusion to this series to see how this intriguing pair face the wrath of the storm that’s upon them. ❤️❤️❤️

In this sequel to Net Worth, we follow Charlotte and Mason immediately following the final scene of the first book. To avoid spoilers, I’m not going to go into any more detail, but this book was everything I could have dreamed for and more!

I was absolutely obsessed with this book! I loved getting to continue Charlotte and Mason’s story, and I grew even more connected to them. Their chemistry is so raw, and they both give and take with each other. Hostile Takeover was intense and steamy, but it also pulled at my heartstrings big time. I was hooked from page one and could feel deeply what both characters were experiencing. Honestly, I wasn’t ready for this story to end and cannot wait to see how their story finishes in the third book!

Content warning for grief, sexual content, kinks.

A huge thank you to Valentine PR and Amelia Wilde for the ARC of Hostile Takeover!

Charlotte and Mason’s unconventional story continues in the second book of this trilogy.
Their relationship started as a convoluted mix of revenge, power, desperation and loyalty. Add in some kink and mind games and I love it.
In this book we get more glimpses of the characters true nature’s and feelings.
I liked them both more after this book. Mason especially became more likable and I think even hotter to me.
They are a fiery combination in a very twisted and naughty way. I love that aspect! Yummy!
I liked the secondary characters and thought they added interesting scenes, dynamics, depth and dare I say… soul?
It’s a very interesting and sexy tale and of course it has a shocking turn and a cliffhanger.
I am excited for the conclusion of this story of these intriguing characters.

Hostile Takeover by Amelia Wilde is book Two in the Wealth trilogy. This continues the story of Charlotte Van Kempt and Mason Hill. So you should read the previous book 'Net Worth' before starting this one. This book does pick up where we left off with the shocking ending. Charlotte now is having to take a side it seems with what the fall out was from the last book. Mason just keeps getting more endearing to my heart and Charlotte is growing into the women I hoped her too. This does end setting us up for the next installment. I highly recommend Ms. Wilde's writing she is really good!

Mason and Charlotte’s story just gets more and more complicated as the pages go on and I’m all about it. Both of them have reasons for being the way they are and are somewhat non apologetic for it but the more they are around each other the more there walls start to crumble and they aren’t happy about it. Can’t wait for the next one

I received an ARC for an honest review.

What can I say, this book just did it for me! Mason and Charlotte are even hotter, and I don't see an end to the flames! Mason is such a damaged soul that it is going to take a strong woman to help in out of the dark! And thankfully, Charlotte is turning into that woman. Anyways, this picked up right where book 1 left off and can I say, the Cornerstone building wasn't the only thing on fire!

There more of this book I read, my heart just kept breaking for these two. Charlotte's parents are just horrible people, I thought the mom might redeem herself, but nope. Their actions are just unforgivable! They will deserve whatever they get in book 3, let me tell you! And I hope Amelia makes it hurt!!

And as for Mason and Charlotte, holy hell people! Amelia sure knows how to write wonderfully tragic characters. She toys with your emotions, but you keep on reading because you just know she will put you back together! And by the end of this book, that process has started! I can't wait to see how explosive their HEA is!!

This book is amazing!!! Mason and Charlotte have chemistry that is off the charts! The sex scenes are like, woah. One handed reading, you know what I mean? And I actually cried. Me. I don't cry at books. Mason may have pushed Leo out of the Amelia Wilde book boyfriend #1 standing. We will have to see what happens in book 3. And Charlotte? I love her. One of the best female characters I've read in along time. Can't wait for the next one!!!!

The continued story of Mason and Charlotte was so good! This is book two and Mason is out for revenge and Charlotte is still trying to hold everything together. In the last book another building was burned to the ground and Mason and Charlotte raced to the scene to help where they could. Sadly Charlotte was faced with the horrifying realization that she truly does not know her own father, or what he is capable of. Mason was out of his mind with grief and the fire brought front and center memories and pain that have eaten him alive for years. Will they be able to fight this war together? Will Mason continue to use Charlotte for his revenge plans for the Van Kempt's? Or will their contract become more before they can say otherwise?

Mason continues to be the best part about this series! His revenge may drive him but he has done so much for his siblings and tries his best to make them happy with a life of privilege's and wealth. Gabriel, Jameson, and Remy are Mason's driving force and I just love their relationship. Mason has now found out information that is imperative to figuring out why his parents where killed and made for it to look like a tragic accident. His plans for taking down Charlottes father have now been put on hold so he can get what he needs to finally put the mystery to rest and he and his siblings to move on. And while this is all happening Mason is feeling himself drawn more and more to Charlotte and wanting her more than just on their contracted day of the week. He is doing everything he can to keep his feelings at bay but this sunshine girl is breaking through the dark curtain he has kept in place for so long.

Charlotte has definitely grown on me and she has become stronger and more determined in this second book. She is confused by her feelings for Mason and also her response to the punishments he gives her. Every Friday she is made to be used and hurt and for some reason she can't seem to say no, even through the tears. Her reaction to the man who has taken over her family's company and has promised to someday soon take her own father down, her home life, and her heart are all colliding. Her parents are directly responsible for Mason's family's loss and she wants to make it right. Her mother is back and is becoming the woman Charlotte once knew but now also has a plan to take down Mason, and Charlotte is torn. Because not only does she feel her family owes Mason so much for the pain they have caused, she also doesn't know which side she is on because she wants to protect Mason but also the Van Kempt name. What is the answer that could potentially save everyone?

Mason and Charlotte's contractual relationship his getting slightly more complicated and they are both feeling things they didn't anticipate. They have some serious sexy times and their dynamic is getting stronger. Amelia always writes a steamy romance and she kicked up the heat between these two for sure. I love the push and pull and fall into desire she creates. And I loved how their relationship progressed in this book.

I am obsessed with Amelia Wilde and she continues to give us drool worthy anti-hero's and their not so innocent leading ladies. She always finds a way to add a twist at the end and yup for sure this is what we got in Hostile Takeover. Also the detail, always the most vivid detail. I can't wait to see what happens in Binding Contract and where Mason and Charlottes love affair will take them.

This book is an example of what I want and expect when I want an enemy to lovers story. The push and pull, the angst, the sexual tension leaps of the page in book two of this trilogy, and I have to say, I am 100% here for it.

There is just something about the way that this author writes that makes me fall in love. This is a testament to her skill as a writer because her men are not easily likable at first glance. In fact, more often than naught, her leading men are deplorable in their actions. Yet, there is just a dash of humility and or vulnerability that makes me want to dig deeper into their psyche so that I can understand what makes them tick. Somehow, she makes me love the fact that they are perfect in their imperfections.

Mason, while appearing to be indifferent and aloof, is anything but that. He is complex. His need for vengeance is understandable in this case. However, even he knows that what he is doing and what he is forcing Charlotte to be a part of is wrong. I liked that I got to see him vacillate in his feelings of right and wrong because, even he knows, that his parents would not be proud of his actions. I enjoyed seeing more emotion in him in this book. Even if for the most part he doesn't soften outwardly towards Charlotte, seeing inside his head was insightful. Even though he is cruel, the moments that he shows tenderness have me eating out of the palm of his hand and makes me fall in love a little more every time. I am enjoying the interactions with his family too. It makes the siblings stand out and makes me want them to have stories of their own.

Charlotte, in the first book, didn't really capture my attention until late. However, in this book, she jumped out at me and made me her biggest fan. I loved that she seemed to have come into her own in this story, in not only the way that she was with her family but in the way that she was with Mason. Even if at a great sacrifice to herself, she seemed to be in tune with Mason and the way that he was. She was empathetic to his need for vengeance even at a great cost to herself or the actions of her family. I felt for her plight and being caught between the two.

Together, these two characters are the stuff of dreams. It is definitely evolving from just enemies to lovers. This book is about the bumpiness of the relationship turning from hatred to mutual acceptance. I cannot wait to see them finally get past the angst and anger, and instead start working towards love and a happily ever after, which quite frankly, they both deserve.

I don't know how the author manages to come up with steamy times that can top the previous ones, regardless of the series, but holy heck does she ever. I think I blushed a few times in this book which says something because I don't blush unless I am the center of attention. I don't know where she is getting these ideas but holy melt my kindle because mama likes.

It ends on a cliffhanger, which should be expected since this is part two of a trilogy. I hurt for Charlotte that it ended the way that it did. I didn't see that coming, especially, after everything that she had sacrificed. However, the other part of me is pretty happy that it will be just the push that someone needs in order to do the right thing. Highly recommend this author and series. There is a reason that she is a one-click author for me.

Holy Shit! What a fucking cliffhanger!! This book had me on edge from the very first page up until the very last one.
Hostile Takeover begins exactly were Net Worth left off. Charlotte and Mason are confronted with a situation that has ignited every one of their emotion on fire. A fire that seems to keep burning with each betrayal and plan for revenge. This book was insanely HOT. The scenes between Charlotte and Mason were on another level of angsty and deprived. Each encounter between the two left them craving for more and more. They were fueled by hate, need, and desire. Regardless, the two were in denial of the true feelings brewing between them. Was it really hate? Where Mason and Charlotte both victims of the Van Kempt family? I loved the first book (which you must read before this one), but I loved this one so much more. Although Mason continued to treat Charlotte with cruelty and disdain, I loved being able to witness his struggle with doing so. Now Charlotte, I FRIGGING LOVED HER SO MUCH. Charlotte was amazing in this book. She was caught between a rock and a hard place in wanting to remain loyal to her family, but at the same time wanting to do what is right for the Hills. The relationship between Mason and Charlotte changed in this book. Even through his cruelty Mason's softness for Charlotte was beginning to grow more. There was a lot of growth with both Charlotte and Mason's characters. I also loved getting more of Jameson, Gabe, and Remy. (I love me some Jameson). The siblings are all out after their own vendetta, but the one thing I absolutely adore and admire is their acceptance of Charlotte. They didn't see her as their enemy and welcomed them into their home. The last few scenes leading up to the cliffy ending were really intense, but also broke my heart for Mason. He, more than any of them, has had to deal with the brunt of everything since the tragedy that took his parents lives. Hostile Takeover does end in a cliffhanger, but it is worth it. I knew Victoria Van Kempt wasn't as innocent as it may have appeared. I can't wait to see what havoc Charlotte and the Hills are going to cause in Binding Contract. Mason Hill is out for vengeance - for his parents, for his siblings, for himself, and now for the woman he has fallen in love with.
