A witty heroine and a sexy, alpha-hole hero.

I'm Nora and in my entire afterlife, I never expected to be roommates with a possessive, cocky, sexy-as-sin vampire. Since I've been dead, no one has been able to see me, but that changed the second he stepped through the front door of my internal prison--aka my old house from before I flew the coop.

I damn near made the poor man drop his blood bags when he walked in to find me chillin' in my panda PJs and eating imaginary cereal. Though Landon drives me bat-shit crazy, it's nice to have a friend, and pushing his buttons isn't all bad. There's something about the anger that burns behind those eyes that just does it for me.

He’s dark, mysterious, maniacal, and downright wrong. Yet, the more he pisses me off, the more my heart warms for him. Partially because I know there’s something deep, deep down that is good, like Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. And partly, because his stupid vampire mumbo-jumbo has my lady bits dusting out the cobwebs. Thank God the logistics won’t work...or will they?

It's steamy, knock-your-socks-off funny, and will leave you dreaming about bad boys with fangs for a long time to come.

Bitter and worthless review incoming

What I thought I would get
- An adult, smutty version of the Mediator

What I got
- A headache and a loss of will to live

Landon is introduced as a cold-blooded, grumpy, sexy vampire, but in 1 whole day he becomes the biggest simp I've ever seen. Nora is there... like a lil ragdoll, having internal monologues about her betraying vayjay and daddy issues and yada yada. She's mostly just flinging along.

why can't I be a normal person and dnf

Anyway. 400+ pages (although the first 200 played out in like 4 days) containing simping, swooning, "no this will never work" etc. The best and most pathetic part was when

It had fun moments, and the smut was fine. But I got an allergic shock from this instalove and, to be frank, I don't know if I hate myself or this couple more. I'm depressed.

This is the first book I have read by Amanda and it won’t be the last. It was a easy and fast read. I found myself laughing out loud and crying. I didn’t want to put it down and when I did I wanted to get back to the story as soon as possible.

Initial Thoughts

Unique storyline about an absolute monthly FMC and her new vampire roomy. The spice was so good, the MMC left a little to be desired but I liked him nonetheless.

Spice 🌶🌶🌶
Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tropes: paranormal, forced proxy, mated
Cliffhanger: Nope
POV: MMC, FMC

Review

This story was so unique in its situation that it kept me guessing and I genuinely didn’t think there was going to be a happy ending. I couldn’t predict a way out and that was as awesome as it was frustrating. I’ve also never read a storyline where the dead person was the main character. I really enjoyed its lack of predictability.

The FMC, Nora, was such an absolute spitfire and I could have read her inner monologue forever. She didn’t hold much back when she spoke either, so that was fun for me. She was my favorite part, hands down.

The MMC, Landon, was an entire asshole but hey, we’re a community who loves a red flag. He definitely had redeeming qualities and he made some mistakes that I would have had a very difficult time getting over. One in particular, I didn’t think he deserved redemption from, at least not by the conclusion of the book. He is solely my reason for not giving 5 stars.

They, due to their forced proximity, battle it out constantly and it’s pretty clear Landon has the upper hand but that doesn’t stop Nora from giving him hell. Their back and forth was funny and enjoyable if not a little lengthy at times.

The world established in this book peaked my curiosity enough to hope that there will be more. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface on its details and I’m hungry to know more.

The spice was good. The first encounter of it was off the charts hot. Ones after that we’re almost as awesome. There wasn’t a lot of it, but more wouldn’t have fit the plot line.

Overall, I really like this author and this was an enjoyable read! 🖤

Amanda did it again — paranormal, forced proximity romance?? Sign me up!

The adored Nora, she was feisty, witty, challenging, and stuck up for herself. Landon was every red flag alphahole dream! 🖤🥵

The spice was on point! The story had me guessing at every turn, and not gonna lie I was worried you weren’t gonna give me a happy ending… but in the end you came through! 😂 such a good easy read!!! Loved this story, well done!

This book was so funny. I related to Nora on so many different levels. I adore the way that Landon cares and loves for her once he gets his head out of his ass. This was the second book I have read by Amanda but I love her writing so I will be reading more.

This was an ARC read. I loved this one! I love the MC and how they just fit together. The wit and sass between Landon and Nora was amazing and just added to the story. I loved seeing how protective Landon was of Nora. Spice level was good. I’m hoping to hear more of their story. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet. Definitely a good PNR.

I liked it sooo much more than I thought I would .

Over all I had a GREAT time!
I can’t believe I’m typing this ,seriously,I can’t. The first half of the book I absolutely hated Landon ,I mean I seriously loathed the guy. I really did. Landon was the very definition of selfish and self absorbed a giant A hole who seemed to think ONLY of himself .
And Nora ? Nora seemed like a ghost crossed with a doormat . Nora was one of those h’s that’s so lost in lust with the H ,that no how badly or atrociously they are treated by the H ,all he needs to do is smile and they melt into a puddle of lusty goo and everything is forgiven.
Gah.
Please, please save us from this misplaced lust that leaves the h stupefied and unable to see beyond her lust no matter how badly she is treated.
Guy treats you like dirt ,brings home some skanks to do a F and suck in your old room and then gets you diddle yourself in front of him for some mutual masturbation ( I so wasn’t impressed with this ) and yet it doesn’t take much to forgive and forget ,even though he continues be a d bag to you.
Landon was in the category,”he’s a jerk. But he’s my jerk.” And weirdly enough he started to change and evolve a bit and when he finally pulls back some and started try and let himself love her,I started to love them both.
And for like the middle part of the book I was happy and excited and loving them both. And so so thrilled when they were finding a way to be together! Woooo hooo! Yipeee!!!!
Then unfortunately Landon being Landon, decides to with hold important/vital info from Nora when she has to make a choice. Holding back that info for course causes to not make the choice he needs her to make . So what does he do? He does what you’d expect of course ,circumnavigates her wishes for his own and negating her free will. Now of course she is P. O. ‘ed,having finally been pushed so far her lust for him no longer works as a “get out of jail free” card for Landon . Which is great! Great to see she’s no longer Landon’s pretty lil door mat. Awesome, except
It goes on and on and on . Too long. Her lack of forgiveness becomes spiteful and petty and lasts until the last chapter or so. It ruined the story for me.
Lots of unanswered questions and threads ,things brought up and started only to be dropped and forgotten with no explanation.
Still all of that aside ,I had a great time and didn’t really want it to end. Just wish Nora had stopped being a bratty B sooner.

This felt like it was originally two books, but the author decided to make it a standalone, taking the storyline/plot for what was originally the sequel and condensing it down into what is now the last 25% of this book. I’d liken it to a modern addition to a historic home.

That observation aside, I’d best describe my reading experience as: I liked the plot, characterization and romance in the first 75%; I didn’t like the plot, characterization and romance in the last 25%.

Monster Roommate is about a funny, quirky newly murdered ghostly woman bound in a house and a handsome, quintessential broody vampire hell bent on ridding himself of his unwanted roommate.

Nora is a new ghost who finds herself bound in the house she was murdered in by her best friend. She doesn't know why she ended up in limbo and what to do with her days until a handsome vampire buys the house and happens to be able to see her and speak to her.

Landon is a vampire professor taking a break from the academy who decided to vacation in the town he once lived when he was a human. With a painful past that kept him from returning to his hometown for hundreds of years, he's in no mood to have a roommate... ghost or otherwise.

So, what to do with a very talkative, annoyingly, sexy and funny ghost??? Try to help her find her door to the other side..... or hire a powerful witch to dissolve them in thin air? Okay, be a generous host and give it a time line. After 6 months, if Nora hasn't moved on to heaven she will just cease to exist. Great plan...

Yes, wonderful plan.... only Landon begins to fall for this quirky and talkative ghost that he can't even touch. The attraction is undeniable between the two. Can a vampire love a ghost? Can a ghost love a vampire? How does that even work??

One Halloween day changes everything. Landon is convinced Nora is his soulmate and he will stop at nothing to live the rest of their lives together.

Read Monster Roommate by Amanda Aggie to see what lengths Landon is willing to do to get his chance with the love of his life.

I absolutely love Landon and Nora's story and highly recommend this book. It's funny and entertaining with unique scenes that have you chuckling and fanning yourself from so much heat.

After reading 'Must Love Humans', I was excited to pick up 'Monster Roommate'. If you love vampires, shifters, ghosts, etc, you definitely want to check this out. It is an enemies to lovers trope, a lot of supernatural vibes, and some funny tv culture comparisons. I absolutely enjoyed how Leo (from Must Love Humans) had a moment or two in this book, and can't wait to see how Amanda Aggie creates more novels in this supernatural universe she's created.

Landon definitely got on my nerves at first. He has this "protective wall" attitude and wasn't afraid to use it. Having a history of love related trauma, I can understand him wanting to protect his heart but dude, come on. But I guess that's the humanity showing in the vampire.

As for Nora, I definitely do not want to live as a ghost after witnessing her frustration of being confined to a house for 6 months. I will admit, I was not expecting the method of her unaliving. I couldn't tell if I wanted to laugh or cringe and realized, with my luck, I'd probably be unalived in a similar fashion.

Landon and Nora together cracked me up. I feel like Nora is a ghost version of Lorelai Gilmore sometimes and Landon is a brooding vampire who doesn't want to be attracted to her. When Halloween rolls around and the veil gets thin, the story really starts rolling and I'm hoping there's going to be a book 2 because I need more of these two, or at least have them featured in other people's stories.

There are some steamy scenes so 17+ age recommended. Overall, thanks for the laughs, the emotional stress, and the occasional cringe. I enjoy being immersed in the books enough to feel what the characters are going through.

Alphahole, asshole I'm not sure if it's normal in this trope but treating h like a pet is not for me. Half of the book Landon was such a jerk just because he was attracted to Nora. He played with her hot and cold on and on. Suddenly he's decent to her and suddenly he's hurting her with his words. Yes I'm saying hurting not insulting cause there's a difference. She was murdered. And he was treating her like trash. Landon mentioned in the beginning he likes fiesty woman how no one ever dared to stand up to him. But everytime Nora stand her ground and made things difficult he just commands her🤷‍♀️ Is that why you wanted someone like that so you can subdue her? I wanted to see him 2nd guess himself after turning her without her consent. I understand where he's coming from this time but he didn't have to do that. If he explained everything Nora would have agreed to that. But again he had to snatch the chance to let her decide. Like a dog. So yeah forgot about doubting his decision he didn't even felt bad.
And oh Nora was mad alright.....😒I just don't wanna comment on that.
The misunderstanding planted by Cyn? That was so stupid. Your boyfriend didn't sale his soul just to play games with you girl. You're connected internally. How someone fake that ffs? Use your brain girl. Oh he fucked it out of you ig.
More reason of my dislike - OW drama while Nora was in the living room! h who forget Hs assholeness cause he's sexy and she can't control herself, only bark no biting fiesty h.

BUT It wouldn't be fair if don't mention it.......after half point you can actually see how bad Landon fell for Nora. If its not his toxic controlling issues.......

This is one of those stories that you cannot let pass you by, the Nora and Landon story is like the 4th of July… fireworks baby, Annnd Ohh Soo Yummy!! So Nora is this sassy, feisty, funny, yet takes no shit type of woman … Landon he is an arrogant, rude, mesmerizing , absolutely gorgeous AF Alphahole!!(for a good reason though, you’ll know why when you read it)!! So, unbeknownst to them they end up in a forced proximity situation and it is nothing short of explosive and funny, and Damnnn do they know how to push each other’s buttons!!! I never wanted the story to end, Seriously!!! I fell in love with most of the characters, there were a couple I wanted to throat punch but anyway, the whole scenario,It’s everything you could want…there are some things you most definitely do not expect and it’s like OHH SH!TTT!!! Hands down The best story I’ve read yet this year! So you need to go get this book, it’s also on Kindle unlimited if you have that. Btw even if you don’t like PNR you will absolutely love this!

Amanda Aggie is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! This book was a page turner, kept me guessing and ultimately dying for more. Nora is a snarky, take-no-bullshit FMC whose wit and sassy comments had me laughing. Landon is an alpha-hole vampire in every sense of the word, but I enjoy a good vampire romance story so I was hooked from the beginning. I have never read a ghost romance though, so that was new but I absolutely loved every detail that Aggie put into this. I also really loved that this takes place in the same universe as Aggie's other books like Must Love Humans (another vampire romance must-read) and The Demon Prince (sexy paranormal adventure and prequel to a series). The spice level in Monster Roommate was through the roof while still making sense to the plot and character development. Overall the story was so unique and fun to read and the characters (while a ghost and a vampire) were relatable. I'd gladly be Nora's best friend! Can't wait to see what's next for Amanda Aggie as she's been knocking all her recent releases out of the park!

I loved this book. But it was problematic in a number of ways.

The MMC is a problem because he lies and manipulated rather than simply explaining his motivations. It’s toxic. And she forgives him twice after two major betrayals.

The first time: He does what HE thinks is best FOR HIM and somewhat for her but mostly he is damaged emotionally and this makes him do some stupid things like be an asshole who threatens to end her in order to protect his messed up heart.

He truly repents and makes a good effort to grow from this one so it’s easier to get past.

The second time: he changes her against her will without giving her the respect of telling her all the information to make an educated decision.

I was torn at the ending. It works but he just gets away with being a jerk the second time and never really understands what he did wrong. He made decisions for her as if she is not capable of deciding for herself. And because of lust and such, he gets away with it.

BUT I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN. Great writing. Well done.

Where to begin... Aggie did it again with her hilariously creative mind!

Nora and Landon's story is so cute, funny, and serious at times, but all in all a great love story.

Who knew a sassy ghost could fall in love with an alpha hole vampire.

Nora is betrayed by her friend/roommate who brings her to her ultimate demise by using an eating utensil. That were the laughs begin. She is doomed to live out the rest of her nonhuman existence in the house she was murdered in.

Landon is your typical frat boy, bad boy who happens to be over 100 years old. He's determined to rid his new home of the pesky ghost haunting it but as time slowly passes he ends up falling head-over-heels for his ghostly roommate.

The whirlwind of ups and downs these two go through over the duration of this book keeps you on your toes and wanting more. A definite page-turner.

This book was my first ghost read. 😂 I enjoyed it alot. Nora made me laugh out loud many times. Her thought process of being a ghost and running the new tenant out was priceless. Landon for as old as he is makes the same stupid mistakes most guys do... Thinking they know exactly what is best for their girl.

This book was fast pace and a great read. I enjoyed it al the way through. Especially the last few chapters. Seeing Nora find her places and realizing what her purpose is made me smile.

The story is a definite 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟. The spicy parts are 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶️ 🌶. This book will make you look at things from other presepectives. I really hope Nora and Landon make appearances in another book or maybe get a second one of their own.

Nora, a ghost and Landon, a sexy possessive vampire are the least likely match to fall in love. I loved that you had no idea how this would work out, how there could ever be a HEA, or what that would even look like. The story is so unpredictable, but so good! There are some good spice scenes, with a sprinkle of praise. Chapter 15 was 🥵! I love how Landon would do anything to help her in every scenario.
The world is awesome, and I’d love to see more of it! This is the third book I’ve read and loved by this author.

The story is a cute paranormal romance with a ghost, Nora and a handsome vampire, Landon. Landon is back in town to help the local coven that is having some problems so he’s renting a house that apparently comes with a ghost. Nora is newly deceased and cannot leave the house where she was murdered. She wasn’t happy to be sharing it with anyone until she realized What Landon is in that he can see her. This is their story of falling in love and him helping Nora.

I enjoyed the story and how Landon helped Nora. The characters are very likable and it did have me laughing. I liked how the author explain some of the paranormal happenings and I cannot wait to read more.

Different. Fun. Slightly creepy and disturbing.

I really liked this book. Loved the characters and the plot. The relationship built believably and at a good pace. The only dislike I had with this book was Nora's additude towards the end of the book. Her anger dragged on which didn't fit her character or her previous actions. It made the story end on a low point, after so many high points throughout her and Landons journey. Everything resolved in the end I guess, just very quickly for the amount of angst in the last quarter of the book. I will be looking forward to the next book.

This book was a roller-coaster that took you through all of the turns willing or not. The plot with a ghost & a vampire romance was a new turn. I liked that it was not something that had already been beat to death. The steam to smoking hot build-up was nicely paced. Landon is your typical alpha-hole that makes decisions that affect Nora. But Nora is NOT a subdued character. She is strong willed....and stubborn. I would have liked the school to have a little more page time than it did along with her final changed status. But I feel this was tied up enough that it is not a cliff hanger, but will also have you looking forward to the next story

I read Must Love Humans by Amanda Aggie and then I was hooked on her books! This was a fun read from page one. I was in a bit of a reading slump when I picked this up and boy did it help me get out of it. The ending was something that I was not expecting which made me enjoy it that much more. If you like paranormal romance this would be a great one to pick up! There is some spice and it did not disappoint. Only reason this is getting a 4 star is because I felt like the ending was a little rushed but not to bad.

I was given an ARC of this book by Amanda Aggie for an honest review. This review is my opinion and mine alone.

I absolutely loved Nora and Landon’s story! Nora’s character was a lot of fun to read. I loved her reaction to Landon in the beginning and how she does her best to not be attracted to him (even though she’s a ghost and it’s *cough* been awhile *cough*). I enjoyed the bit of lore we get in this book also, with vampires, witches, and with Nora at the end. Definitely intriguing! Landon made me want to punch him in the beginning when he was threatening Nora, but I ended up adoring him (at least until the part where he didn’t respect Nora’s decision, that made me super pissed at him). Overall I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more in this world!

Who knew being dead could be so stressful

I read this book based on the brilliant synopsis and was not disappointed. It was a love to hate, hate to love affair with our two protagonists, and even though they are made from the stuff of nightmares they pretty much had a lot of human issues and baggage to deal with. Some scenes were ghost chilli hot, 🌶 but the word foreplay between both characters for me were the best. Some bits felt glazed over too quickly as I would have liked to know about the psycho roommates background. All in all a very modern take on folklore with a hint of old world. Enjoyed this book.

“A puff puff here… a puff puff there…”

I am crying laughing right now. I started MR 4 hours ago. I couldn’t put it down. I laughed, audibly, so. Many. Times. Amanda KILLED it with this book!!

Nora is snarky and quick witted. She also happens to be a ghost. Landon is a typical alphahole vampire who’s had his emotions shut off for a century. So what could possibly go wrong when he moves into the house Nora is stuck in?

If you want adorable, hilarious, and a PNR that falls somewhere between insta-love and a slow burn, Monster Roommate is exactly what you need

Nora is dead and haunting the house she was killed in when a sexy vampire moves in. She's used to not being seen, so the fact that he can see her (and then some) makes things all the more interesting.

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved Nora and the absolute spitfire she is. She was hysterical when she mocked how her previous roommate killed her and I love her pokes at Landon.

Landon was a tough character to like. He's just a walking red flag with many qualities I could get behind. But he matched Nora perfectly and their steamy scenes together were fantastic.

As always with this author's book you can't put them down and this one is no different. Nora and Landon are great characters. They just have this way of making you laugh so hard. You can't put this book down because you want to know what happens next. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Though they acted like they hated each other you knew that was a lie. This book should be on everyone's TBR list because you won't be disappointed at all. This will be another book by this author that I will be reading multiple times.

I wasn’t sure how this was going to work when one of the main characters was a ghost, but Amanda Aggie has outdone herself again. What an emotional roller coaster!! The sadness for Nora, being stuck in this house and having to watch life go on without her. Then hope when Landon can see her, but then he’s all over the place with his emotions. Finally, we get a little action. Who knew that would work?!? Then we mix in a cross roads demon, some witches, and a colorful potion, then BAM! Well I’ll leave the rest for you to find out.

So, I'd like to preface this by saying I hated Landon at first. However, he quickly became a fan fav of mine. He turned his attitude around and once he stopped treating Nora like the enemies, I got onboard SO FAST. 100% shipped them.

I loved the twists and turns in this darker pnr. The entire book was such a unique concept that it kept me on my toes. I'm usually able to predict books, especially romances since they tend to have an HEA but this one got me! I was super happy with the ending.

I'm hoping to see them again, like the other characters in her HB&DD series!

When I tell you I am SCREAMING! The ending left me crying and laughing so hard. It was to the point I wasn’t sure if the tears were from it ending or how hard I laughed at parts. The character’s literally SUCKED me in (lol book pun intended). These characters made me angry, while also making me smile and laugh when I didn’t want to. Like I’ve been sick for days but Nora made me feel 100 times better while reading. She constantly made me laugh and agree with her sassy remarks. I kid you not, I’m definitely using some of her catchphrases from now on. 1809/10 great quality book. Please read!
