A Cello on the Wall, 1989, The Fall of the Berlin Wall is a storybook that not only tells us the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall but also the tale of a German family who suffered because of this wall that separated the people of Berlin for several years. On 13 August 1961, the Soviet Union leaders decided to erect a wall in East Berlin to stop the flow of people who were migrating en masse to West Berlin. Although for a few decades this Wall of Shame stayed tall, on 9 November 1989, the people of West Berlin and East Berlin came together and demolished the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was one of the most powerful and iconic symbols of the Cold War.
