Luca Rossi isn’t my fiancée.
He stole me in the middle of the night.
Now, I’m expected to marry the enemy.

Luca Rossi is the heir to my family’s greatest rival within the Italian mafia. He’s cocky, ruthless, and has a keen sense of when I need him the most.

When I look into his eyes, I see his hatred for what I represent. While I see another arrogant mafia man trying to control me.

On the eve of my arranged marriage, he’s the last person I expect to see. Like the thief he is, he steals me in the night, setting off a war that had been brewing for years.

I’m so happy I got introduced to reading Emily’s books by my friend Nadine. The Dark Mafia Sins has been my favorite series.

Luca is the son of the head of the Rossi family, we discover his upbringing and the respect he has gained within the family, being next in line to rule.

Aly has had a curious life being the bastard child of the Mancini family, she’s not welcomed 100% into the family but she’s left in the outskirts with protection and her dad's loyal eye.

Luca & Aly are incredible together, enemies to lovers - the banter between them is fiery.

The world-building in this book is so good it connects books 1 and 2 perfectly!

I absolutely loved this book, it was just an amazing read. It kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The turmoil that both Luca and Aly felt was so strong I could feel it myself and the way they were able to calm each other with just a touch was awesome. The suspense of it all will have your heart racing the entire time you are reading. I love this series and this one has been my favorite so far.

Luca and Aly were a fabulous read.
A little dark, a little dirty, with a surprising twist near the end.
If you have enjoyed the previous books in Emily's Dark Mafia Sins Series, you will DEVOUR this one.

I love curling up to a great mafia, dark romance and this was a perfect read. Right from the beginning I was entranced with the dual POV of Aly and Luca. Two rival mafia families and forbidden chemistry make this story sizzle. Luca is intriguing, protective, alpha and part of the Rossi family. Aly is smart and strong and part of the Mancini family. When they meet, you can just feel Luca's presence in protecting Aly, even though she is from a rival mafia family. Things turn when Aly has an arranged marriage by her father and Luca was not having none of that to the point the families were about to have a war over it. I loved the action, twists, turns and steamy chemistry between Luca and Aly!

Intense and captivating!
What a great start to a new mafia series! Aly is the bastard child who isn't accepted in the mafia world and Luca is lucky enough to join a prominent mafia family when nothing else in his life is going right. Sinful Vow is everything you'd expect from a mafia story... dark, twisted, and fast-paced! Luca and Aly fit together seamlessly despite being from rival families. Their story is raw and emotional with just enough steam to keep you hooked.

Sinful Vow is Book #1 in Dark Mafia Sins series by Emily Bowie. It is a dark contemporary romance with an enemies to lovers element, mafia politics, danger, drama, tension, suspense, action, angst, emotion, banter, and family rivalry- all wrapped up into a bit of an intense and gritty read.
I am loving this series, even though I came into it a little backwards by reading book two first, but luckily the stories read well as standalones. I am well and truly hooked on the Dark Mafia sins now and can’t wait to dive into more.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Emily Bowie!

This story finds Luca and Aly on opposite sides of the Mafia. Aly the "secret" daughter that no one acknowledges but yet they all protect and Luca, the orphan who was adopted into the Mafia and made a son.
Luca vows to always protect Aly and he keeps his word up to the day that he takes her for his own.
WONDERFUL character building, I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series.
New to me author but she has drawn into her world with this first book in the series.

What happens when you are born into a world that does not want you, thinks you’re a cast off. Well, that’s me Aly the illegitimate child of one of the most powerful men in the town. No-one dares to touch me until one night I witness a stranger running away from a gunshot, but he turns and stands in front of me, although I am scared, he just captivates me. He vows to protect me even from my family.

Luca started life on the street a nobody, but one chance meeting and his life has changed forever. Now part of one of the biggest crime families in the town he is destined to become the Don when his father steps down, but one night he makes a mistake and saves a damsel in distress. Later, she captivates him, and Luca cannot give her up, the only problem she is the daughter of there enemy and will he be able to have his girl and keep the peace.

This story is full of action from the first page, seeing Luca’s start in life till now you understand why there is such rivalry with the Rossi’s and Mancini’s. Luca is captivated with Aly but he see’s away to get back at Mancini with making his daughter fall in love with him and this will be the ultimate betrayal. Although when Aly’s brother Jonny and the next in line for the Mancini line is killed, Aly’s father must find away to keep her the next in line to takeover the family but of course this goes wrong.

I love the character of Aly, she is full of sass and determination to become the woman she wants to be, within the mafia world she has seen how they have treated her mother and is determined that is not going to happen to her. Although when Luca comes into the picture, she is fascinated by him although at first, they are frenemies she then starts having feeling towards him and eventually they both can’t hide their true feelings anymore.

The characters in this story are so well developed and rich, the story is powerful but shows that there is a soft side to rugged men and that love does win out in the end. I can’t wait to read more books in this series and by this author.

This book was a treat to read for me! I do highly love my passionate books as well as Mafia books. This one was a true engagement from the start, the spice and temptation it brought on, was more than amazing. It was a perfect blend. More like a dessert where you take one bite, and you know you want more.

Something I really enjoyed about this one, I loved the characters yes. They made the story, with out a doubt. The darkness in this book, between the events, as well as the characters really, and I mean really, made me get sucked into this gem of a novel. It was a good read, but not all lollipops and daises between the characters. There was the darkness I would say within a lot of the characters that had to be expelled out of them at different times. And to me that made the characters very relatable and real!

Also the chemistry between Aly and Luca was the spiciness I love and enjoy with all my heart. The moments they shared together, my kindle was needing a fan on it I swear. You really felt the lust and the passion between them. Knowing the darkness within each other, it did not stop the suspense of the feelings of when ever they were near. What I loved about that, was it was not just about that, there was so much more. Even though they did not want to show it to the world, it was there. Through the reading the characters development was perfectly done. I will be reading more of this series with no doubt!

I loved the writing style of this amazing author, and how they suck you in and hold you there as you live on every word, and wonder with anticipation what will happen next! A must read author and certainly a must read book! Highly recommend up Don't pass this book up, you wouldn't pass up dessert would you?

I've recently gotten into mafia books, and this was a great addition to the collection. The book starts out with Luca as a young orphan who runs the streets with his friends, pickpocketing unsuspecting victims. After getting caught in the act by a couple of mafia bosses, one of them takes him in as a son.

As an adult, Luca encounters the teenage daughter of an enemy boss as he's leaving the scene of a crime, and Aly's pass on ratting him out to her father forges an unlikely alliance between the two, which grows over time with random encounters.

As Aly grows on the fringe of the mafia, not quite fully under her father's protection since her mother was his mistress, and never taking money from him to avoid his rule, she's able to build a successful business. But, when her mother falls ill, she turns to her father to help with her medical care and finds herself sucked into her father's business.

Things take a turn for the worse when her brother, the heir of the business, is killed, and her father decides it's time for Aly to step up and marry into another mafia family to forge a stronger alliance. Held captive by her father until the wedding, Luca shows up to rescue her, but neither are sure how much to trust the other.

Luca declares he’ll marry Aly, and she finds herself still trapped, but in a different setting. Things heat up between the two and their bond is tested when Aly’s father gives her poison to kill Luca. Faced with deciding between allegiance to her family or the man who’s somehow always shown up to protect her when there was no one else, Aly must decide her own fate.

A great slow-burn romance with lots of twists and turns!

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, book 1) by Emily Bowie

5 out of 5 Stars

This might have been the author’s first foray into the mafia genre, but Damn! What a first shot!! I was invested, hooked, thrilled from the first page of Chapter One. The story was fun. The characters are real and believable. The banter between Aly and Luca is witty and funny.

Luca Rossi has never had an easy life. Luca had the fortune of meeting Mafia Boss Nicoli Rossi on one of the worst days of Luca’s short life. The only good to come out of it was that Nicoli adopted Luca. That day and the change of fortune would ripples in Luca’s life forever. When Luca was trying to make his bones and protect his family, he stumbled across her. She was young, strong, beautiful and addictive.

She is Aly Mancini, illegitimate daughter of the Rossi’s family rival. The day she met Luca, Aly didn’t know who he was but she knew he was dangerous and deadly. Luca kept turning up whenever Aly needed him for the next 6 years. Aly claimed that she hated his intrusion into her life but, secretly, she felt safe and protected knowing that he would be there for her.

When Aly’s father decides that she has to marry to keep the family strong, Aly doesn’t want to do it. Luca agrees. Luca takes Aly. Is Aly just another pawn in the ongoing feud between the families or does Luca really love her?

The story has so many twists and turns. My heartbroke right along with Luca’s when he thought he was betrayed. My pulse raced when Aly was in danger. The pages flew when plans were being made. My screen got all foggy during the steam! Please tell me Book 2 is coming soon!

Luca Rossi has been following Aly Mancini since she was sixteen. As the only witness to the murder, Aly decides not to inform her father. When her brother, Jonny, dies, Pierre Mancini tells Aly she is required to marry Coy. Despite her protests, Mancini kept her captive in his home. The evening before her wedding, Luca appears. After a brief struggle, Luca drugged Aly. When she awakens, Aly finds herself a prisoner and Luca’s bride to be. The Rossi family directly opposes the Mancini family. Luca’s marriage to Aly would be a powerful move to end the Mancini family. There is a problem with the plan. Luca and Aly both have powerful feelings for one another. The loyalty to each family is the only issue preventing them from confessing their feelings to one another. What will it take to tip the balance?

An engaging Mafia romance, I thoroughly enjoyed the amount of relatable characterizations made throughout the story. Luca’s coldness was his defensive armor, and I fully understand why he did his best not to show any weakness to anyone. Growing up, she never found favor by the Mancini family. The result from one of Pierre’s affairs. She didn’t have the same loyalty to her father and went to incredible lengths to make sure she was not dependent on him for her own business success. Mancini’s attempt to manipulate Aly disgusted me. The suspense of this story is epic, and I would recommend this book to any adult reader who loves a slow burn romance with inconceivable twists.

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins #1) by Emily Bowie

This isn't the first book I've read by the author. The author has once again proved that she is good at what she does. Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins Series.

Luca is the adoptive son of the Rossi's and he's looking for revenge. When a meek girl catches him leaving a warehouse after shooting someone he becomes intrigued. He feels it deep in his chest when she's in trouble and races to save her each time. The quote I chose for Luca is: “It’s not to keep you a prisoner but to keep you safe. I have some work still to do, but I will be coming to bed tonight. We might as well get used to sleeping in the same bed, as we will be doing that for the rest of our lives.”

Aly is the only daughter of her father, but isn't involved with the family. She is well protected, but she's also looked down on because she's a child from the mistress. When she is arranged to marry someone her saviour comes to the rescue. The quote I chose for Aly is: “I’m sorry for everything, Luca. I don’t know why I accepted the poison from my father. You have to believe me that I would never use it to hurt you or anyone in your family. You have to believe me that I love you.”

Highly recommended for Dark Mafia lovers.

First let me say that I have read these books all out of order. I wasn’t confused by it at all. They can be read as standalone books. But I will say they are better read in order. I read Sinful Kisses, the third book in the series first about a year ago. This book is about Luca and his bride. Luca may not be a Rossi by blood but that doesn’t matter. He is the heir to the family. He first met Aly when she was sixteen. All it took was one time and he knew that she would be his. Aly is a bastard child and isn’t really accepted by the mafia families. Her older brother is forced to watch over her a lot and resentful of it. Luca always seems to pop up when Aly needs him too. They have a bit of a weird relationship of sorts through the years. They should hate each other because they are from rival families but they don’t. Then Luca takes Aly. He keeps telling himself it is to help his family. While it may help his family that isn’t the real reason. Luca won’t allow anyone else to have Aly. This book was a great read. Luca and Aly have great chemistry. The banter between them is amazing. They do have snags as they are from different families. For Aly she discovers the family she always wished she had. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Great job Emily.

This is the first book in a new Mafia series. I had high hopes for this book as I love Mafia romance books and I had previously read, and enjoyed, one by this author. I’m so glad to say that it totally lived up to my expectations and more. I absolutely loved this book.
I was totally gripped to Luca and Aly’s story. The story gripped me from the very first chapter and continued to keep me gripped and entertained right to the very end. As with most mafia romance books there is a lot of violence, danger, drama and intrigue. In addition to this, it’s also a fantastic enemies to lovers story as Luca and Aly belong to opposing mafia families who have hated each other for years.
I loved reading about Luca and Aly. Both are fascinating characters and I can say that the author has done a great job in creating these characters. I could have read about them for hours and hours. Luca isn’t used to women being sassy and answering him back and that’s exactly what he gets with Aly.
If this first book in the series is anything to go by, then this is going to be an awesome series. Definitely recommend.

Ever since their paths crossed years ago, Luca has vowed to protect Aly...whether she thinks she needs it or not. However, the night before she is set to marry one of her father's men, Luca steals her away and announces she will marry him instead. He believes he is using her as leverage in a war between the families...so why is his heart getting involved? She knows she is being used and doesn't know which side she can truly trust...but her heart is getting involved, too! Is she just a pawn in a game? Or is she the queen he has needed since years ago? When loyalties are tested...is their alliance strong enough to last?

I enjoyed this story. Sat down and read it one sitting. I liked both main characters...and Luca's right hand man is a fun character, too! There are some twists and turns that I didn't see coming and kept the story interesting. Overall, an entertaining read that kept me turning the pages. There is hinting at the end at what the next story might be...and I am looking forward to it.

Luca and Aly were such a sweet couple. The chemistry and connection they shared could not be ignored, and on Luca's end would not be denied.

Luca lost his innocence as a young child being neglected and moved foster home to foster home, but being taken in by Rossi family was that light in the dark for him. Luca was immensely loyal, and as the heir to the Rossi family he was also ruthless and cold when needed.
Knowing each other since they were kids there was a great deal of history with Luca and Aly. Luca was always protective and possessive of Aly, and he always knew when she needed him. However Luca being a Rossi and Aly a Mancini they were sworn enemies, and truly a Romeo and Juliet in the making. When Luca takes Aly as his own on her arranged wedding day its a declaration of war for the families. As the story unfolds there are many twists that were not foreseen along with a great deal of drama, romance, and betrayal. This story was a good one, and a great way to start the series. I am eager for what's next.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. This is the first book in this new series for her and I look forward to reading more. This is a great start to the series. It is dark in spots and the author's writing style brings the story to life. I was pulled into the story by the characters and kept engaging to the end. The twists and turns made the story not only pop but also hard to put down. This is a mafia romance story where the characters are connectable and made the story entertaining to read. It is a fast paced story about what happens when an arranged marriage turns out to be more than what is bargained for. I enjoyed the characters' connection and chemistry. Their growth as well as the plot growth throughout the story made the story easy to read. It is a great story that I really enjoyed and is worth the pick up. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Luca, is the son of the head of the Rossi Mafia family, is expected to learn the ropes in order to become head of the family when his father is ready to step down. Through a twist of fate, Aly, the bastard child of an opposing family, the Mancini family, catches Lucas eyes and intrigues him when they are young. Over the years this leads Luca to watch over Aly from the shadows and steps in when necessary. But, when he learns Aly has been promised to someone else, he takes action, kidnapping Aly. She is his, no one else is suppose to touch her. Luca decides as a way to keep Aly and get back at her father, the two of them will wed. The chemistry between the two is off the charts. This well written story keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what surprising twist will be next. I highly recommend reading this book, I could not put it down. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book of this series. Looking forward to more works by Emily Bowie.

This is the first book in the dark mafia sins series and OMG this is a great book and I fell in love could not put this book down I ended up finishing it in one day. This is a dark romance with a twist.
Luca Rossi is cocky and ruthless, when she look into his eyes, all she see his is hatred for what she represent. He is the heir to her family’s greatest rival within the Italian mafia but he also has a keen sense of when I need him the most.

Now he expects her to marry him is he crazy? What about her fiancé? What about her Family? Can they overcome being enemies to lovers? Will they have a happily ever after?

You will need to read this story to find out…

Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins series. I have read book 2, and didn't even realize this was from the same series until the very end. So clearly, I like this series, and now I want to read them all. They don't have to be read in order, and can be enjoyed as stand alone. I was back and forth on if I wanted to read this book- I didn't like the idea of Luca "stealing" Aly, but I love reading Mafia romance books. I am glad I took the chance, because it wasn't as gruesome and awful of an event as it sounds. I really liked the development of the characters, and their relationship. I don't want to give things away, but there is more to the story than the brief description lets on. While Luca is a mobster, killer, criminal, etc, he is also kind of sweet. Aly is strong and I love the life she built for herself. Highly recommend this book (and series) and can't wait to get the next book in my hands.
