If you’ve been reading this series then this book will grip you quickly like the others!!
I loved the dynamic between Mac and Athena. It was fresh and exciting. Which turned into Dom/Sub relationship.
I absolutely love the suspense that Nikki puts in each story. It’s pulse pounding. This one almost cut deeper because of the circumstances!!

Steamy Friends To Lovers
Unreasonable is Book 4 in the Heroes of Calvano Security series and it's my fave so far. Athena and Mac have been best friends and partners at work for years. They have both had feelings for each other but never acted on anything until one day they did as decided to be friends with benefits, Everyone knew they belonged together but what will it take for the two of them to realise this.
This was a great read and I was invested in this couple from the start.

The start of this book was a little hard to swallow, and not due to it being poorly written. Nikki Rome tackled the difficult nature of sex trafficking, and did so with a beautiful level of compassion for the victims. It was just a triggering start, but only lasted a few chapters & was critical in the rest of the stories development.
Athena & Mac had an immense push & pull that was brilliant to read. Given the length of time they’d been partners & their bond - it allowed for a great friends to lovers storyline. It was a great slow to medium burn. Spice was interesting, as there was a sub & dom element, but it wasn’t overdone or to in your face.
When Athena was taken, you could feel the tension, the angst & worry coming from Mac, especially when Athenas pregnancy is outed. Nikki Rome did a great job in ensuring us readers could feel his heartache.

Another thrilling installment in the Heroes of Calvano Security series. This one was a fast-paced thriller and oh-so-steamy! The tension between Athena and Mac was palpable. Excited to see where the rest of the series goes!

Sophomoric writing style was the first thing that put me off. Less telling and more painting would have gone far in bringing the story to life. Then we have the miss-used pronouns, typos, and almost complete lack of character substance or depth. I'm giving it 2 stars because I believe there is a good story here. The delivery is just lacking. Proof readers should have picked up on a lot of the things I found wrong with this book. It's just not ready for publication the way it stands.

Mac and Athena were partners at the security company weee they worked. They were like fire and ice, always bickering with each other but when they were in the field working they were the best duo the company had. Everyone at the company always wondered what was really going on with them. Mac proposed a plan that they would become friends with benefits. Will this be a good thing?

Mac and Athena's story brings you a friends to lovers trope that is filled with suspense and even a surprise pregnancy. If you are looking for a read with a angsty hero fighting to save his heroine then this book is for you!
