Sadly Brutal Boss doea not deliver the promise of dark mafia romance. The story is bad. The plot is not exciting. And the entire book is just... well... forgetable.
This is my first read by Miss Fox. Such a disappointment. I want more feeling on the forbidden, dark romance. I want more exciting conversation or banter.
I got nothing.

Book 1 in the Bratva Brothers series follows Mikhail and Madisyn.
I wish that I had read a previous book where Mikhail was introduced, so I could have know him better.
Mikhail is head of the bratva and Madisyn is working undercover with the FBI to try to bring him down. How happy do you think the powerful mafia boss will be when he finds this out?
There was lots of action packed in this quick read and this couple had good chemistry.
I loved the set up for the next book.

Yikes... This story & the writing was a bit of a mess. Very weak story line. The characters were also weak and didn't make sense. She's a trained FBI agent but acts like a damn damsel in distress who can't take care of herself. And him, he's a freaking Bratva boss & acts like a dumbass. There was no character development at all. And there was no chemistry other than lust due to "job obligation". They didn't have any kind of relationship or bond, they were very disconnected from eachother. As they should be, they're strangers. The dialogue was juvenile and the story was just lacking.
What Bratva boss just voluntarily goes to a rival cartel compound without an army? Fighting with a dirty FBI agent to win her as a prize? A boss? Fighting some rando? *sigh*
And my biggest pet peeve of all, the oopsie pregnancy *eye roll*. Where he proceeds to ask her to move in with him. They are complete strangers! They've had a total of a some hot hours banging eachother & he's already falling in love & asking her to move in?! Oh lord, what a mess.

Well, this is embarrassing! I was hoping that this was WF's first book so I could be hopeful her writing would improve, I was even going to give her a pass on the unoriginal premise. Unfortunately, it's probably too late to change bad habits, such as way too much telling & far too little showing & no heat in any part of her storytelling. If everyone was as stupid and repetitive as the H & h mankind would still be swinging in the trees. DNF 75%

I honestly expected more from this book based on the reviews. It was very rushed and kind of confusing to follow along with.

Brutal Boss: Bratva Brothers Book One by Willow Fox has no shortage of action.
FBI agent, Madisyn and Bratva’s boss, Mikhail, have weird chemistry. Madisyn finds incriminating evidence on Mikhail but doesn’t turn it in to the FBI. Mikhail finds out Madisyn is an undercover FBI agent and doesn’t kill her. Lol, that’s love!
The book is fantastic with all its twists and turns. It was heartwarming when Mikhail saved Madisyn after she was kidnapped. I love the twist there too. I never guessed (spoiler, so no name) worked for the cartel. Although I will say, towards the end, I did get a bit annoyed with Madisyn wondering if Mikhail would kill her.
Is the novel realistic? No. But it is entertaining, and that is why I read fiction.
So, that said, all the characters and settings were developed incredibly well. The plot flowed nicely and was super exciting. The romantic scenes were smoking hot. Five Stars!

I had the pleasure of reading this as an arc and hehe...Willow, may I have book 2 please😊🤸♀️.
I also had the pleasure of reading book 5 of Ruthless vow and as such, I understand mikhail a little bit better, although I will say IT IS NOT REQUIRED TO READ RUTHLESS VOW TO UNDERSTAND BRUTAL BOSS, I just got the privilege to.
I will admit, like he says, he's not a good guy and Ruthless Vow had me thinking there was no way something good could come of him for his own vook with how he acted in the predecessor although I really wanted too see how it would turn. To say the least? It turned it FANTASTIC. I liked his book a whole lot. In my opinion, there wasn't a better girl for him that M, she is the perfect fit. The banter but care they have for each other is kinda cute, I won't lie.
I can't wait for book 2 for the Bratva Brothers Series.

Madisyn is a new nurse practitioner at Steele Concierge Medical. However she’s really an FBI agent who has been tasked to go undercover and get as much evidence against Mikhail Barinov. He is the Pakhan of his Bratva and was recently released from custody after a not guilty verdict, that Mikhail paid for. A plan for her car to break down near his compound is to take place that evening. The guard really doesn’t want to get involved but as Mikhail returns home and sees the cold, drowned rat that Madisyn is, he takes pity on her and brings her inside his home. He trusts very few people after the recent betrayal that put him behind bars, so he plays his cards close to his chest. But he takes a liking to Madisyn. There’s something about her, and that something sees them engaging in a passionate relationship. Madisyn finds herself torn. She hears and sees very little but quickly learns that Mikhail may be the head of his Bratva, but he’s a decent man that surrounds himself with good people. He’s in a constant battle with a local cartel and Madisyn finds herself dragged into a dangerous situation. This was a thoroughly enjoyable read with an entertaining plot and interesting characters. The ending plants a major seed for book two, Luka’s story.

She didn't plan on the chemistry between them, she didn't plan on an ex-lover coming to her and jeopardizing her operation. She didn't plan on being exposed....
They want to hate one another.
I have to say, when I got through about half the book, I ran into a twist I didn't foresee. This couple fights themselves between what they should do and what their heart and soul tells them to do. Mikhail is suspicious of her from the beginning and it will take something big to earn his trust. Can she or will she do it?
I really enjoyed this story. The words grabbed me right from the beginning and kept me wanting more. I would definitely read more!

Willow Fox continues to draw me into her mafia world! This is the story of Mikhail (Pakhan of the Bratva) and Madisyn (undercover agent in the FBI). Madisyn’s job is to infiltrate Mikhail’s compound and become an important part of his life so she can find evidence to have him put away. Mikhail is a typical Pakhan – does not trust easily and is very cautious of whom he allows in his life. That is, until Madisyn comes along! There is an attraction between Mikhail and Madisyn that is intriguing. The journey between them is full of drama, danger, passion, deceit, secrets, and in the end – loyalty.
I loved how the end of the story will lead into the next story in this series and I cannot wait to see what happens to Mikhail’s friend Luca! Great story, great characters with some twists and turns and a few surprises!

Seeing Mikhail in Ruthless Vow didn't have me excited to see him again. He was not nice to his sister, but that was also different situation and through her viewpoint.
I was very surprised to get a different Mikhail in Brutal Boss. He is controlled and calculating, but with Madisyn there is something else. They both pul each other in and sparks fly. She is walking a fine line as a undercover agent, but the real danger is harder to spot.
I got lost in their relationship. There is a connection that cannot be denied even though there is no way a brave boss and an FBI agent should be anything more than enemies. Through her time with him, Madisyn gets to see a different side to Mikhail and realizes things are not so black and white.
A riveting story that had me glued until the last line. Such a great set up for book 2. I am excited to see what comes next.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BRUTAL BOSS" I thoroughly enjoyed this Mafia Romance your hooked from the start with suspense, angst, intrigue, steam, secrets, beteatal, twists that make this an addicting image turner.
Mikhail is head of the Bratva in NYC & Madisyn is an undercover FBI Agent trying to bring him down when she finds evidence on him though she doesn't turn it in he knows who she is & didn't kill her.
I loved the chemistry between Mikhail & Madisyn she was a spitfire, spunky not afraid of him something he wasn't use to most people cower around him he dangerous but also kind.
I definitely recommend to get this amazing well written story so well worth the read there were twists that had you on the edge of your seat you don't want to miss this book I'm looking forward to next book in series. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!

The first in a series, however we met Mikhail, the H in a previous series, Mafia Marriages, where his sister married into the Italian mafia.
I seriously did not like this man in that book. I was unsure if he’d be able to redeem himself enough for me to enjoy him as the H or anti-hero as it suits him better. To my surprise this is my favourite book by Willow Fox. I’ve liked her other books but there have been times I’ve struggled with connecting to the couple. Not so here. Madisyn and Mikhail have palpable tension that gave me everything I want when I read a romance. I want the longing, the attraction, the spice, and the emotional connection. Mikhail, you bad Bratva boss, you managed to make me love you.
Now all I need is for him to repair his relationship with his sister. Oh, and Luka’s story coming up next.

Mikhail & Madisyn 🤔
This book was not at all what the title & preview makes it out to be. “Brutal Boss”? He wasn’t brutal, he wasn’t even a boss 🤦🏾♀️. Mikhail is as soft as cotton 🤣😂🤣. And if he was only soft with Madisyn I’d be overjoyed but no he’s the Bratva Boss that allowed some nobody to beat the crap out of his girl with no repercussions! Madisyn I just didn’t get her, she added no value to the story her entire storyline was for nothing well other than to lol 😂 I don’t know. This story is hard to review because it just wasn’t what I thought it would be. Brutal Boss?

Brutal Boss, book 1 in the Bratva Brothers series was good, not necessarily a dark mafia romance, but good. Mikhail and Madisyn had good chemistry, there wasn’t a lot of steamy scenes between them, but the couple of the ones that were were spicy!
I read Ruthless Vow previously and Mikhail is definitely not a good guy in it, but seeing him in Brutal Boss definitely paints a different picture of him. I really liked him. For supposedly being a big bad Bratva leader, he was very forgiving of Madisyn and her lies and betrayal. I thought they were perfect, I loved her smart mouth and how she wasn’t afraid of him.
I’ve read several books by Willow, including others from this series, and have enjoyed them all.

Listed to as audiobook on YouTube while cooking and driving. I liked the audiobook and enjoyed the story. I think her turn from FBI to liking him for then just physically needed more time/detail to develop. The story also felt a little cut off how it jump forward but only for like 2 chapters and then ended I need more for the aftermath of she is giving up everything for him. Like she never wanted to leave her job before and now shes like fuck it. She said it her self she barely knows him but is totally willing to have his kid like I feel there needs to be more first. It was good overall and would probably listen to the other audiobooks by this author since they are on YouTube for free.

I thought the FBI angle was ridiculous. Obviously not everything has to be believable in these types of books but having her be an FBI agent and be able to pass as a nurse also? As if you can just fake that type of work. Or does she have some unknown nursing degree. Then it ends with her no longer being an FBI agent and now she is a nurse full time? Again with what nursing degree or training?! I would have rather the angle that she got into some trouble or maybe a brother or something got into some trouble and the FBI was forcing her into this situation. Or maybe she went out with Aaron the asshole and he ended up blackmailing her for something to do work for the FBI. I can think of a number of other scenarios I would have enjoyed more.

I love the characters that Willow Fox created in this book. Mikhail and Madisyn should not work as a couple because Mikhail is a Bratva boss and Madisyn is an FBI agent, but their story and how they finally end up together is an amazing and entertaining story to read. Mikhail does not trust easily, but there is something that he sees in Aria that he just cannot resist. Aria is trying to do her job, but it is hard when the chemistry between her and Mikhail has such a strong pull. I cannot wait for the next book that has Hannah, Aria's co-worker and Luka, Mikhail's most trusted man.

Madisyn is undercover as a nurse to infiltrate the Bratva when she is picked up by Mikhail in the middle of the rain storm.
This was so good!!! Drama a must, this fulfils all my Bratva story requests. So intense this story I found the mixture is the fiery Madisyn and complex character of Mikhail to be a compelling mix. I loved these two together. They really make the book

He was a powerful, careful man who didn't take anything from anyone.........
Mikhail turned out to be a kind person,NOT such a Brutal Boss as the name implies........ he wasn’t very violent in this book...........
Madisyn.....is supposed to a rough tough Fbi agent going undercover ..... It was kind of humorous because he is written to be stern, bossy, yet he is so easily duped,........She is spunky, independent, and strong without being supposedly obnoxious about it........
he ends up falling in love , fighting an enemy to save her... she ends up being let go / quits because she ends up prego with being undercover ??? some fbi agent ...... for this reader a cute short story but not believable.....

Too obvious: Madisyn had Mikhail's coat on with s flash drive in the pocket. Drive goes missing and big bad brat a boss can' t figure out where it went? (Pg95) FBI undercover agent Madisyn, sleeps with her assignment less than 48 hours after meeting him. Second sex session they do not use protection so knot she will become pregnant.(pg151) There is no suspense, thrills or intrigue. Flimsy plot for a Brava crime story. Madison gives all female undercover agents a bad reputation. No hardcore alpha brat a boss would behave like Mikhail nor make such stupid decisions. Laughing out loud at title and story Brutal Boss.

I started this book thinking I would put it down after a couple of chapters and go to bed. Is that what happened? Nope, not in the slightest. I finished it. Was extremely fast-paced. Loved Madisyn. I was wondering throughout the whole book how the hell she was going to be an FBI agent and still be with Mikhail. I'm really glad that she chose him, but it was crazy for her to finally come to that conclusion. It was a bit predictable when it came to Aaron, but he got what he deserved. Well, maybe not totally. Still great ending. And omg! The twist with her friend Hannah!! Oh, I can't wait to start the next book!

This is a well written Mafia romance with strong characters in Mikhail and Madisyn. The author does a great job building the tension as she brings them together. He's head of the Bratva and she's undercover FBI who set out to take him down. Let the sparks fly!! She had me glued to the pages with all of the drama and secrets along with the romance and twists along the way. It's well written,moves fluidly and is a terrific read. Loved and recommend this book.

Dnf. Story so unbelievable and doesn’t make sense!
Madison is an undercover F.B.I agent, who is working to prove Mikhail’s guilt as a murderer and mob boss. So she’s working as a nurse undercover. A nurse??? If she’s not trained as a nurse how is that a good idea? So the plan is that she’ll get let into his house by her car breaking down near to him. Great plan….. 😂😂😂 He lets her into his house and makes her strip in front of him!!! She’s supposed to be a shy nurse, and doesn’t question him demanding that she strip in front of him??? It just doesn’t make any sense.

I mean, it wasn’t bad per sé. But it wasn’t that good either! It’s weird, their relationship was okay I could’ve forgive a lot of things, but the whole situation with the ex boyfriend and her not wanting to talk to mikhail was just weird, she was supposed to be a bad ass fbi agent who loved her job but was so sloppy about her mission and at the end she just completely ignored her goals and job responsibilities because she fell in love and is having a child with the MMC. I don’t know, the whole storyline robbed me the wrong way I guess. Let’s see what happens with Luka’s book.

If you've read 'Ruthless Vow' this is a follow on of Mikhail's life after he got arrested.
Will Mikhail end up in prison again or will he work out that he has a spy in his organisation?
This book completely changed my view of Mikhail and Luka and I can't wait to read book 2 in the Bratva Brothers series.

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this story given that the main character Mikhail had been portrayed in the previous book. I was surprised to find that I actually found him quite likeable although I can’t understand how his personality is so different from the previous book, hopefully this will be revealed in a future book. A worthy read.

Who doesn’t love a good Mafia story full of undercover discoveries and a kidnapping by a rival cartel. Madisyn is working with the FBI and goes undercover with the Bravata, she is fierce, independent, smart, and gives Mikhail a piece of her mind and talks right back. And honestly I really like Mikhail’s demeanor and interactions with Madisyn.

Great start to a new Bratva series. Mikhail is head of the bratva and one night decides to help out Madisyn when her breaks down in the rain. He takes her to his compound and when he finds out that she is actually and FBY agent now he doesn’t plan on letting her go. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, steam and emotion. Great characters and action packed; I was hooked from beginning to end. I really liked it.
