She signed up to give him an heir, but what he really wants is her heart.

Piper’s infertility sent her childhood sweetheart into the arms of another woman. Now she’s cashing in her credits at the local fertility clinic so she can do the traveling she’s always dreamed of.

But when the clinic offers her a secret third option, she can’t resist.

The plan? Act as a surrogate for an alien male, and have her own fertility restored in exchange.

The catch? She and the tall, dark and handsome alien will need to do it the old-fashioned way.

He’s wealthy. She’s poor. He’s set in his ways. She longs to travel. The only thing the two agree on? They’ve both made a terrible mistake.

Their pact is simple - convince the staff of the Midsummer Center that they’re trying their best. They’ll go their separate ways when it’s over.

All they have to do is manage not to fall for each other in the most romantic place in the known universe, where the admin, the staff, and the system’s most gifted AI are all working together to make falling in love (or at least in lust) completely irresistible.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5)
Trope: fake relationship
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥

Super cute book in a new series by Tasha Black. When her inability to conceive destroys her relationship, Piper is willing to take drastic measures for the chance to start the family she’s always wanted.

Piper is a quick and easy read that will leave you with all the warm fuzzies. Brax is the perfect, slightly vulnerable hero who wants this to be the real thing. Piper is very endearing and you can definitely commiserate with her struggles. Loved it and can’t wait for the next one!

Piper is the first book in the new Alien Adoption Agency series by Tasha Black and can be read as a standalone. It is told in first person, from multiple perspectives.

Piper de Tasha Black serie Alien Surrogate Agency libro 1

Argumento:

Piper gives up on the dream of a child after multiple fertility treatments and her childhood sweetheart dumps her. She's taking her life back. But what if she's offered one more chance? She can be a surrogate for a Maltaffian which will restore her fertility. So Piper forges ahead. Except she didn't read the contract she signed and she's in for a shock. Now throw in a conniving AI who's read too many earth romance books and a very wealthy Maltaffian who decides he wants more than a baby, he wants Piper. Piper was very entertaining, sweet, funny, and steamy. This was a great night's read! I'll be reading more in this series! 4 stars!

This book was well written but the story and romance was really lacklustre! Pipers character felt very hollow as did Brax’ the only one with real feel was the AI lol and that’s saying something!

First off the steam rating for this one is about 🌶🌶 this isn’t the focus and gets only a few pages at the end so I was left a little disappointed! I wanted more steam and romance and we only got 2 scenes!

The romance was very rushed and seemed too fake to me! Piper and Brax went from meeting, to agreeing to fake date, to falling for each other all over the course of a day. While I’ve read scifi romance that has a similar storyline the development was so good I didn’t even mind! However this one made it seem very insta love.

While I wasn’t a fan of the romance the story and writing was phenomenal and I would really love to give something else by this author a shot! Overall the book was a 3/5 for me. The steam and romance weren’t there and that’s one of the biggest reasons I love this genre! However this author deserves another chance so we’ll see what I can find of hers to dive into!

Every time this author’s book shows up on my Kindle it’s an automatic read for me. I thoroughly enjoy her work and take a break from reality and get some merged into a Science Fiction Romance. This is no exception, Piper as long for a child of her own that will inherit everything because it would be the first heir and then she can get married and have a family. But the fertility treatments her family sacrificed all of their money on didn’t work and the old fashion way with her boyfriend was a bust also. Her boyfriend leaves her and enters into a contract with her neighbor and leaves Piper utterly heartbroken. A unique opportunity opens itself up to her to have the child she longs for and she grasps it with both hands. Brax is looking for a surrogate because he needs an heir to keep his cousins grubby hands off his vineyard. They are matched and get to spend a week in paradise but is not what either of them thought, especially Piper. Will they go through with the surrogacy? Will Oberon, the retreat’s AI, be able to keep them safe and foster love?

2.75 ⭐️ so i rounded up

edit: this books was so short and that definitely factored into the rating lol

i
man idk

the whole time i tried to pretend he was a human
but maannnnnn

okay so if this book was about humans, it would be cute and i would give it like 4 stars
but it’s aliens
parts of it were sweet and like a normal good romance book
and at least she is a Terra, so like basically human
but his name Brax Tressel
and the horns
and the fact that he is green
AND THE MATING THRALL
MATING BOND
PAGAHAHAHA i knew jt was coming and it still caught me off guard

okay but Oberon 🫢🫣🥰
so so sweet
never thought i would like an AI character better than the actual MCs but there is a first time for everything

Piper: Alien Surrogate Agency #1
By Tasha Black

I received a digital arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a scrumptiously fun quick read.
The world building is solid and relatable. I always enjoy when space travel takes place in a future world where the humans are the futuristic descendants of our current earth.

This story had so much heart and warmth packed in; in so many ways. I loved the artificial intelligence unit - Oberon. I loved each twist and turn and how much fun the characters had along the way. The couple had a whirlwind romance and the book really makes the reader feel like they’ve been swept up into it all right along with them. Slow build, open door but lots of plot and character development. Great read. 5/5

I absolutely loved this awesome must read in a new spin-off series!! “Piper: Alien Surrogate Agency” is the 1st book with a fresh storyline & never a dull copycat ;) I was hooked from the start by this author’s relatable characters & clever dialogue plus romance & chemistry between the H/h, Brax & Piper and a new little family, that kept me turning pages like crazy & gives me the HEA I crave ;) ... Even tho I volunteered to read this before the kindle release day, it was without any outside influences & I can honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction! As usual, now I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment, but of course I always do wait ;)

This was a cute little light sci-fi read. It’s a little corky at times and a little overly sweet. I enjoyed the romance obsessed match making AI and the on nose references it would make to romance tropes while executing its plans. Although I did like this I have to admit it felt a little kitchen sink like the further you get into the book.
I think I would have enjoyed this a bit more without the clinic being in danger of being shutdown plotline. It felt unnecessary with everything else the author had going on in this book with these two.

The base idea is great but in my opinion it could've used a bit more work. Conflicts were started and immediately resolved within the next few sentences which made the tension fall flat on its nose.

Oberon was probably my absolute favourite thing about this. His monologues and dialogues were pretty good.

Piper is a beautiful story guaranteed to warm the heart and leave smiles at the end.piper and Brax are such an adorable pair and they have some battles to overcome. It was such fun watching over them as they find their way. All of the characters are awesome but those two are more! And the loving is… so very well written, so romantic and hot. This will be an outstanding series, I believe.

Developing changes
This book is so good! The author took something that so many suffer and struggle with and turned into a beautifully sweet romance. I love the hints of danger, and the attempt to save the day, no matter the cost. The characters were fully developed and heartwarming and I was immediately intrigued with their plight. This book has so many layers between the pages and each one is a hidden gem just waiting to be enjoyed. I can’t wait to see the couple that take advantage of Oberon’s tool box to find more than what they were looking for.

Great opening first book series in Alien Surrogacy Agency, riveting read
Piper had been trying to fall pregnant for a long time with her long-time boyfriend and had failed and then with her parent’s help had tried fertility treatment which also had failed and as her family were poor, they had not been able to help any more even though they had sold everything they could to help. Piper had then taken on extra work and invested every penny she had and gone to one of the cheaper fertility clinics but unfortunately still had failed.
Then she had been given an opportunity to become a surrogate for an alien race which when she had the baby and hand it to the father had in most cases increased the female’s fertility by over seventy percent, Piper had jumped at the chance and this was without really even considering the cash incentive just the chance of her own child was what counted.
When she met the child’s father the first time, she was totally blown away at how hansom he was with blue horns and a greenish tint to his muscular frame and extremely handsome and with a totally wonderful character she was very drawn to.
As they begin their five-day introduction which is arranged by Oberon a computerised AI who plans their dates, plans their meals and also anything and everything else they might possibly require and as the time passes Brax quickly realises as much as Piper that she has feelings for this generous and kind man and having to leave him is going to be extremely difficult.
As the story continues and you follow their relationship you learn all about their planet and also the reason, he is so desperate for a child of his own. Piper tells him all about herself and why she wants child all of her own, to love and to care for with her mothers’ eyes and her father smile so that she could live on in them and pass on their personalities.
I assure you that once you begin reading this wonderful book you will enjoy every single moment of the book.
I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This book is absolutely phenomenal! Piper wants her fertility restored so she can have children. The fertility clinic sounds like the best place to start. Brax wants a child and is willing to go the surrogate way to get what he wants.

Piper and Brax hit it off from the very beginning, which is a plus, but Piper wasn’t told the most important detail about the conception of and when she finds out she’s not sure how she feels about it. But she does have a strong attraction to Brax so she’s hopeful it will work for them! Brax doesn’t realize that Piper doesn’t know they have to create the child the tried and true way so he wants to nullify the contract because he thinks she’s afraid. However, Piper really wants a child so they agree to “pretend” they’re trying to get pregnant and it turns into so much more!

I absolutely loved Oberon! What a character! An AI Cupid! He definitely keeps things lively! He sets them up for success by sending them to romantic getaways so they can connect and hopefully fall in love. That’s his ultimate goal. Of course, sometimes things don’t go the way you want them to, but things turn out the way he wants them to – just not in the way he planned!

A case of overhearing a one-sided conversation almost ends what Piper and Brax have started to build, but it’s a lesson in not making assumptions when you only know one side of the story! I think everyone has learned this lesson at one point or another! Due to this, Brax is ready to give her up, although he doesn’t really want to.

Piper overhears two people talking about closing the fertility clinic…saying it’s a sex clinic and not a fertility clinic. Piper is not going to let that happen if she can help it! She goes to the meeting and speaks from her heart. She doesn’t know Brax hears everything.

The ending to this story is so sweet! And sexy! And just a feel good, all around lovely story. It made my heart melt. In the end, they get what they both wanted all along! And more!

Another awesome book from Tasha Black! And a great first book to what is going to be another winning series for this fabulous author! If you haven’t read Piper, you really should. You’ll love it!

“Piper” is the first book in the series “Alien Surrogate Agency” from Tasha Black. The story is impressive, fantastic and a beautifully told romantic tale. There are twists, turns and suspense, as we follow the main characters through an emotional path. The characters are really well drawn in this story. Even the secondary characters are interesting on their own. Amongst them is Oberon, who I adored!
Brax Trassel is a Maltaffian, who has been searching for a surrogate that meets his qualifications for over a year. He needs an heir to keep rival vineyards and his relatives from inheriting the vineyard his grandmother painstakingly built into a thriving business.
Piper is a human and has longed to have a child of her own that’ll inherit from her because in her culture the first heir gets all and then she can marry and have a family. The fertility treatments her family sacrificed all of their money on didn’t work and the old fashion way with her boyfriend was a bust also. Piper is left heartbroken when her boyfriend leaves her to start a family with someone else. She agrees to try the Alien Surrogate program because she has a very good chance of becoming fertile from the treatment. She agrees to the terms of the contract and the clause Brax included about signing away parental rights. Hey! Neither one wanted a relationship. LOL What we want and what we get may not be the same…….You got it! They meet and the electricity is enthralling between them. Now, they just need to acknowledge it! And, the story takes off!
Through Tasha Black’s wonderful talent, we are shown how the characters learn about themselves, each other, relationships and that together they grow stronger and can realize a brighter future. The book is a page turner from page one! Their characters are well developed, the story is riveting and uncertainty fills one with worry, tension and you just keep reading and reading! Thank you Tasha Black for such a beautiful love story!

Destiny

I was so pleased with this story as I know all too well the heartbreaking emotions of infertility. Piper Arquette lives on Terra-58, she's tried several unsuccessful treatments to become pregnant. It's a custom for her society to achieve pregnancy before being eligible for marriage. The child to inherit the lions share of her wealth thus ensuring the wealth stays along the maternal line. When her current boyfriend dumps her another, does she wallow in pity? Yeah, for awhile, but she decides to travel n enjoy herself before accepting her date in life. But destiny has other plans for her as another option becomes available with Alien Fertility Agency to become a surrogate. They have a proven success rate with 50% of the surrogates conceiving on their own afterwards. Her client is a Maltaffian, one touch sent a wave of pleasure she felt all the way to her toes.
Brax Tressel, Maltaffian, has been searching for a surrogate that meets his qualifications for over a year. He wants an heir to keep his other relatives from inheriting the vineyard his grandmother painstakingly cultivated n grew into a thriving business. He already had a rival vineyard try to trick him into a marriage proposal. Imagine his surprise when informed a Terran agreed to the terms of his contract, including the clause about signing away her parental rights. When he meets Piper their touch gives him a feeling deep in his chest he never experienced in his life. It was like gravity - rooting him- along with a deep satisfaction & longing . But that was impossible, wasn't it? No way could she be experiencing the same emotions.
What a very satisfying tale the author wove. But to me the star of the story was the AI named Oberon who planned n programmed the activities for the participants in the facility run by the Agency.

Piper is a single female who resides in Terra-58, which is a matriarchal society where, to be considered eligible, all women had to have a child on their own first through artificial insemination, which ensures that wealth and standing are passed down through the maternal line. She joins the fertility clinic for the conception process, however, it is not successful but she is given the opportunity to sign up with the Alien Fertility Agency.

Brax Tressel is a Maltaffian who owns an ava grape vineyard, and this land is everything to his family. He is the last of his line, other than distant cousins on his father's side. for personal reasons, he avoids marriage. Some are trying to supplant his position with the land by adding their gene to his family pool. Without a marriage, his only other option is to find a surrogate.

It's already an amazing series, and its only book one, and I read it in just a couple of hours.

The characters were well developed, as the story was told from multiple points of view. I could have envisioned the place and its period in time as the world was set in the future. The setting added to the mood and structure of the story and was solely based on imagination. The events of the story move the story forward at a nice pace, which makes it engaging and a page-turner as it is character driven.

Would I re-read this, and does it earn a place on my “forever shelf”? I would say yes! I would recommend this book to everyone as a short read and palette cleanser. It's a very sweet story with a happy ending and just enough heat, and I loved the AI, Oberon, who planned the activities for the participants in the facility run by the Agency which helped bring them together.

Absolutely amazing read, highly recommend the author love the way this Sci-Fi thriller was written. The two main characters were so totally different and from different backgrounds but the same need for a child brought them together, they wanted to be parents and needed one another to make their dream come true.

Piper had infertility issues that caused the man she loved, which was her high school sweetheart to leave her for someone she thought was her best friend and someone she could trust. So once Piper visits the clinic, she goes into cash out on remaining treatments because all the one's she used failed. The infertility clinic gave her hope by telling her she could become a surrogate for an alien who was wealthy on another planet and after she had a child for him, they would pay her a hefty sum so she could come back home and afford to have her infertility restored to make her dream come true.

The catch to making all her dreams happen was she had to have sex and make a baby the old fashion way with this wealthy handsome alien, the other thing she different realize the reason they were brought together would ultimately seal their fates to be together and have a kid as a couple instead of her giving up her dream she was gaining a family of her own, husband included a package deal.

Enjoyed this thrilling emotional rollercoaster ride of all types of emotions. There was love, lost, lust and grief and so many twists and turns. Plan to read more of this series in the future.

What an amazing series already, and it’s only book one. Earth isn’t what it used to be and we’re not even called earthlings. Earth is old earth, and our species is spread out. Terra58 Is one of the most advanced planets with our species. And it is a matriarch society. That is what brought this planet to be more prosperous than the others that head our species on it. The problem with that is A law states a female must first be her child before she can even be in a relationship. It is done through fertility clinics, you can’t even move on to help your family without bearing a child. Piper has been through so many fertility tries and it has drained their money. She’s done trying. Then an opportunity comes up for her to bare the child of a different species, it is said that after you bare that child there’s a 95% chance you can have more children. Be a surrogate for one child, leave the child with the father and come home and start your own family. Simple right? Once Piper got there, there was a little snag, she did not plan on Brax. First meeting him, and then finding out you can only get pregnant by doing it the old-fashioned way by his species. Piper didn’t know whether to cheer or cry. I loved the story, very descriptive and the characters you fall in love with. And when the happily ever after has a baby in it you can’t get much better than that.

Thon Radnor… me agradó bastante.

Blurb:

Their pact is simple – convince the staff of the Midsummer Center that they’re trying their best. They’ll go their separate ways when it’s over.
All they have to do is manage not to fall for each other in the most romantic place in the known universe, where the admin, the staff, and the system’s most gifted AI are all working together to make falling in love (or at least in lust) completely irresistible.

This first book in the series provides the reader with a great world to immerse themselves in, along with a wonderful premise and reason for being. Sci-fi is not my favourite genre or sub-genre but I've read a few books from this author and always found them entertaining but this story is next level.
This story isn't just entertaining, it's also insightful, tender, sensitive and funny. Both Piper and Brax want a family and the only way they each can achieve this is to use a fertility clinic. On the surface it's unusual for a sci-fi, but it's really a way to express that the desire for a family isn't limited to a single set of people. There was so much tenderness and understanding in this story that it did have me in tears in places.
This may make the book sound like it's heavy and emotionally exhausting but it's not. Thanks in large part to Oberon there is enough light moments to balance out the story and make it enjoyable from start to finish.
I can't wait to read more from this series.

I've never read this author before and I thought this story was "fine"? I wanted more based on the grade here. The story is about Piper a human with fertility issues on a planet where having a child heir is everything. After trying everything and losing a fiancé to the issue she is approached to act as a possible surrogate to a male on another planet. Seems the two species are compatible and the male is so potent (?) that it would solve any future fertility issues. The drawback is she has to leave any child she conceives with the male on his world. Piper is desperate enough to agree. Thinking this will be a lab/test tube type thing she balks when she finds out they have to have actual sex and conceive the old fashioned way. Look, the story and characters were good and the premise is extremely promising but in my opinion this story just wasn't dynamic enough. Brax and Piper had little conflict and and an immediate attraction to each other. Boom. Everything is solved. Your interpretation may differ.
