This book is very well written and easily digestible for a total beginner such as myself.

Definitely good enough to get you started. Having said that it is quite broad and only introductory. If you have familiarity with any other adobe product like illustrator, you can fastrun through this book without that much new knowledge. I was particularly interested in epub making but the last chapter on it quite shallow and checks off of controls list (who adds a movie player into a epub really) instead of providing a realistic workflow (no mention of navigation Table of Contents or even within epub hyperlinks for creating notes or appendix) cheap and cheerful but like I said, it is great for starting from scratch.

I liked this book for the ease with which it walked me through using Adobe InDesign, giving me a hands-on experience with every aspect of the software. However, there were places where I would have liked more explanation for why certain settings were selected as opposed to simply being fed the settings without a thorough explanation.

I will be returning to this book again and again as I seek to master Adobe InDesign.

The best book if you want to go through all the functions systematically, but what always bothered me about these official books is that they are too chatty. If you're a new user to computers in general, then step by step instructions won't hinder you, but for someone who wants to learn major functions quickly, you'll have to learn skipping the unimportant/repetitive parts.

It has been a very long time since I worked with InDesign. I am so impressed with the features and interoperability with the Creative Cloud suite. Sure, I can use the help system to achieve the same knowledge as in the book. But as a desktop reference, this is my "how to" in one place.

Helpful in learning Adobe InDesign and preparing for the certification test. It is also interesting to see how Adobe intends for users to use its own product. Designers generally have there own way of doing things and it's helpful to see a different way and to see if it is more or less effective.

Quite useful in learning the basics, but would have been pretty awesome to have a chapter on more text-heavy (book interiors, for example) projects.

Please be sure to take notes and read throughly. Also, to have an instructor who is caring and classmate who do not judge you
