New Year’s is approaching, and Rykell has no plans again this year. Last year she stayed home cuddled on the couch with her Yorkie, Stella. When her friends start making plans for New Year’s, Rykell will only attend if she has a date. With this information, her friends come up with an idea to find the perfect companion for the night. Will they succeed with their plan, or will Rykell be at home with Stella once again?

Miguel has known Rykell since he was a senior in high school, and she was a freshman. He’s always had his eyes on her, but he knew she was off-limits since she is best friends with his sister. That is until his sister approaches him about possibly being Rykell’s date. Without a second thought, he agrees and sets out to become the last man standing and create a New Year’s Eve that she will never forget.

good holiday book

I enjoyed this book. I was looking for a nice and quick holiday read. I enjoyed the blind date aspect and the set up. I really enjoyed it.

Rykell doesnt want to be the 9th wheel to her friends at New Year's. When they suggest a blind dating game, Ry feels crazy for going along with it, but maybe its exactly what she needs to make the move shes been needing to make since high school.

10/10 would recommend. Johnson gives us a sweet and passionate love story in this novella that leaves readers salivating for more. This is also the sneakiest and most loving group of friends ever and everyone needs true girls girls like this group has. The perfect New Year's read!

Funny

This book cracked me up. All that planning and scheming by the friends just to get two people together. What made it even crazier was that the friends had other people to play along in the scheme. Smh. I need some friends like that.
