Scarlett Malone was a feisty headstrong young she-wolf, blessed by the moon goddess as the first Alpha Female. Moving to a new town with her mother to start afresh, they were welcomed into a new pack and a new family. Things became complicated when she begins to feel attracted to her smart and cocky stepbrother, the future Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. Will she be able to overcome the illicit thoughts that consume her mind and awaken a pleasure deep within her? or would she push even her own boundaries and explore the forbidden feelings that burned within her? Elijah Westwood, the most popular boy around, and one every girl wished to have a taste of. A player who didn’t believe in love, nor mates. He was twenty-one and was in no rush to find his fated one, enjoying life as he was, with no shortages of women to. What happens when he returns home only to find that he’s begun to see his step-sister in a new light? Knowing that when the mating ceremony came, she would find her mate. Will he fight against everything for her, or would he let her go? - "This is wrong..." She whimpered pleasure consuming her. “You want me just as much as I want you, give in to your desires sweetheart and I’ll make you feel so good, that you won't ever want another man to touch you.” He whispered huskily making her core throb. That was what she was afraid of, that when he was done with her, she would be left broken…
I enjoyed this one, it a new to me author and I received this in a book box I subscribe to. The copy is bloody gorgeous and being a shifter paranormal romance it was right up my street so I was excited to get stuck in. This had a distinct style of narration that initially left me slightly unsure if we'd click, but after a few chapters, I was invested in the unfolding drama. Was it perfect no, but it sure was entertaining and the drama was non-stop. It all had a kind of soap opera over-the-top feel to it, but for me, this only made it even more digestible.
Some of the scenarios were definitely ridiculous, and some of the dialogue was a tad cheesy. The characters as much as I loved them we had some real caricatures, but I don't know what it was I was enthralled as well as entertained. I also appreciated it being set in my neck of the woods, the UK and the familiarity of all this only added to my sense of comfort.
This is told from multiple POVs, this is what I mean by distinct writing, any character at any given time could jump in with a thought or perspective, making it easy to connect and feel invested. The central two characters were Scarlet and Elijah, they are stepbrother and sister, so not blood-related and not as major of a big deal as everyone was alluding to here. Elijah is the heir to the Blood Moon pack and both of their parents are an item. Scarlett along with her mother and sister Indigo escaped their old pack, faking their deaths to get away from an abusive situation. The Blood Moon pack took them in and Jackson, Elijah's father accepted the girls as his daughter's.
There's a whole load of drama, lots of procrastination from Scarlet about whether she should lower her high walls for Elijah. A whole lot of spice, in fact, the heat is high for this one. Elijah could be a bit of an arrogant misogynistic fuck-boy pre-Scarlett, but to be fair to him he does change once they become a thing and it's totally obvious he is bloody smitten and would do anything for his Red even reject his own fated mate chosen by the moon goddess herself if it doesn't turn out they are fated to each other like he hopes and suspects. Scarlett also wasn't perfect she could definitely be a bit of a drama llama and is also rather high maintenance emotionally, she makes snap illogical judgements and is somewhat unreasonable, but I liked that neither of these two were perfect and both had their faults, it made it feel more real.
This was entertaining and easy to digest I'm going to be reading more by this author and totally recommend giving this a go. It felt fresh-voiced despite it being a common enough story maybe because of the writing style used. There was a bit of everything provided we had danger, passion, intrigue, betrayal, heartbreak the list was endless. I'm now incredibly intrigued and excited to see what comes next with this series.
This book wasn’t just a wild ride; it’s a whole freaking amusement park of rides!
I don’t even know where to begin. I had no idea what I was getting into when I picked this book up.
This book was spicy AF! 🥵 It was actually done super well. The step sibling thing caught me off guard at first; because I didn’t read the description before starting. Lol But it made sense and wasn’t icky like I expected.
Plot! There are solid plot lines that are actually very interesting. I find that so rare in books this spicy!
It’s long, but I never lost interest.
Occasionally something would happen and I’d be like “yeah, I don’t like that.” And literally a few pages later it was broken down, and I’d be like “ohhh, okay.”
You will feel every emotion. Something I haven’t found in a book since I read Manacled.
There are some dark topics that will break your heard. (But it’s NOT as dark as Manacled)
The love story is super sexy and sweet. Their dynamic was perfection. She crushes first, but he falls first!
I’m so excited to read the next book. I’m super intrigued by Alejandro! He’s such a fascinating shit head. I want to see how Kiara will work into his story.
Warning in the beginning the use of the phrase “raised an eyebrow” is used excessively. Do not let this deter you! It stops after a few chapters and the book is definitely worth it!
In all honesty, I am not really sure how to rate this book. I am not sure if to go with a 3 1/2 or 4 star rating. I did really enjoy the story. I was hooked from the start and kept wanting more. Some characters were very unique. The development of the story was on the right path, but I think I started to struggle with the story a little past the halfway point. Really, it wasn't the story itself but the character dialogues that was throwing me off a little. There were times some acted very childish or their word play was just off and cliche. It was putting me off the story and it somehow started to drag afterwards. By that point I was just trying to get through the book. There were several instances I thought of stepping back from the story and maybe coming back to it. I ended up finishing it, but it did take me a lot longer than I would have liked. I did end up skimming through the rest of the book, although, there were some occasions where I did stop to read a little more in detail some scenes that felt important. There were some key characters that really stood out. It is obvious they will end up with a book of their own. I am extremely curious about Alejandro, so I most likely will look into reading his book. I did like that I was able to enjoy the epilogue. It caused my curiosity to spike a little more, so I might continue the series because of it.
Overall, the story was great, the characters were interesting and some unique, and it was a page-turner for a good chunk of the book. I am still unsure of the rating I want to give it, but this is an interesting enough book to pick up.
OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK, moonlight muse is incredible. The world and characters she created are magical in so many ways! I hope she NEVER stops adding to these storylines!
DNF'D at 10% because it wasn't what I was looking for and my kindle library was full. Gave it 3 stars because, who knows, it could be a masterpiece. I guess I'll never know.
This book had it all. Angst. Laughter. Smiles. Tears. It had me from the first page. I recommend reading the trigger warnings. Parts were tough but I’m so glad I read it. Elijah and Scarlett had a forbidden love that was meant to be. I loved the chemistry between these two. I can’t wait to read the next book. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5

This book was absolutely AH-MAZING! Typically, when I cannot put a book down, I get aggravated when I have to; however, as I waited to finish this book, I just became more and more hooked! Now, I don't normally recommend books from sites such as goodnovel, for I feel like an individual end up paying more in coins then the book is actually worth; BUT for this story and the way it draws you in, I will make an exception!! 😍😍
Her Forbidden Alpha – Moonlight Muse Ha! Ale miałam po niej mętlik w głowie!
Miałam przyjemność czytać „Her Forbidden Alpha” w przepięknym wydaniu z The Butterfly Book Club. Szkoda tylko, że w miękkiej oprawie. Poza samym wyglądem książki do jej przeczytania skłoniły mnie dołączone do boxa ulotki.
Teraz! Dalej czytasz na własną odpowiedzialność! Główni bohaterowie to przyrodnie rodzeństwo.
Kolejny tom dotyczny powiązanych z nimi i tą historia postaci. Czy kupię i przeczytam? Nie wiem, bije się z myślami. Decyzję podejmę pewnie dopiero gdy zobaczę projekty kolejnych tomów.
I COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT THE LENGTH, SOME PARTS WERE UNNECESSARILY LONG AND DRAGGY BUT, IT WAS A PRETTY DECENT SHIFTER STEPBROTHER ROMANCE. Colour me surprised!
SCARLETT'S a little insecure but, she's fierce and strong. The story starts off cliche but, I did enjoy the obvious sexual tension and chemistry between the step siblings. Initially from another pack, Scarlett's entire family suffered domestic abuse and violence through the hands of their alpha father. Needless to say, this entire plot centres on Scarlett's past and the power that she holds. Like I said, the story honestly didn't have to be as long, everything could have been neatly packed in half the amount of pages. The push and pull between Scarlett and Elijah was good, though the waiting period and how Scarlett seems quick to accuse him of cheating got on my nerve a little.
ELIJAH was a hot player type who becomes pussy whipped when he falls in love. Can't say of how I'm a fan of his 'sowing wild oats' way, but I guess he proved that he could be more when he realized how much Scarlett meant to him. As a budding alpha, throughout the story while he does portray signs of his lineage, he wasn't exactly hero material when the bad guys constantly got one up over him...I guess I shouldn't be too hard on the guy, i think he was only in his early 20s.
OVERALL I'm a little lazy today to write a long review, just know that if you enjoy a smutty shifter romance with a decent plot, then you should definitely give this a shot. There was mild angst and no cheating. I look forward to the next book, Alejandro seems something fierce!
This book kicks things off with a bang—and by bang, I mean the kind of forbidden step-sibling tension that practically scorches the page. Scarlett is our fierce, no-nonsense she-wolf with some serious power bubbling under the surface. She’s strong, smart, and not about to let some cocky future alpha get under her skin… except that said alpha is Elijah, her insanely hot, maddeningly arrogant stepbrother. Cue the chaos. Their chemistry? Off the charts. Every time they’re in the same room, it’s like the air gets thinner and the sexual tension thickens. But what makes this story more than just a spicy romance is the emotional depth. Scarlett isn’t just tough—she’s carrying real pain and trauma, and watching her grow into her power is deeply satisfying. Elijah, meanwhile, goes from being a “ugh, you’re the worst” to a “fine, I’m in love with you” type of guy—and the transformation is surprisingly heartfelt. The writing is seductive and addictive. Moonlight Muse knows exactly when to turn up the heat and when to yank your heartstrings. This book is the perfect blend of drama, destiny, and seriously steamy moments. If taboo romance and badass heroines are your vibe, this one’s a must.
This book had me hooked, I struggled to put it down! It is a YA style read but with plenty of steamy scene’s. The Female MC is strong and independent the entire book, unlike a lot of other books I’ve read where they meet their mate and suddenly become little princess’s, both characters manage to have plenty of personality growth without completely losing their personality traits from the beginning of the read. There are some triggering scene’s such as physical abuse that go into a fair bit of detail so if that’s a trigger for you it may not be the book for you. It’s also got a few little details that make it different from other werewolf stories which is nice, making it a little unique. I’ve given it 4 stars as I would have liked a little more depth into some of the other characters, and keeping up with who’s POV I was reading sometimes took me a second to figure out, having to read the sentence to know instead of at the start of the POV change just having their name to tell you. I’ll definitely be reading the next book when it’s out!
I loved the overall story some same old shifter theme but enjoyed the different twists within such as the Grandmas and family dynamics. Great characters and different personalities. I don't enjoy certain phrases reused like a broken record. Once or twice is enough. Every kiss or sexual experience better than any before it becomes absolutely unbelievable in the story. His eyes don't need a descript of Cerulean blue eyes every time. And the story would stand a little better on its own without so much time spent on describing outfits. Also its a weird discrepancy between old fashioned sounding ter.s like 'charcoal' chicken in a book with so quite modern technology. Overall fantastic, engaging plot and would recommend to most people over the age of 16. Sure there is a lot sexual content but better for youth to learn what's love involved behavior vs what's inappropriate sexual advance. Also, I LOVE the strong female characters!
Taboo love, hot sex, werewolves—what’s not to love? Except maybe a stupid slash immature heroine. This is why I generally dislike 18-year-old protagonists. Too much of a baby who barely knows what’s going on with the world and yet overestimates themselves (talking about her vs her father’s situation).
I’d say good communication overall between the 2 lovers. Conflicts were addressed. It was much more lengthy than I liked, and some parts were pretty cliche, but it also breaks the stereotype that the hero is the strongest alpha etc. since a side character is apparently an alpha of all alphas.
About how it ends, however… It seems to suggest that 20y/o having something in connection with a 4y/o in the future. Maybe not romantically, but experience tells me it just may be, and that’s extremely uncomfortable.
Doubt I’ll reread this unless it’s for the hot sex scenes.
Elijah & Scarlett: The first couple of the Alpha series and my favorite one! Elijah was a playboy who changed his ways drastically when he finally noticed that his stepsister had turned into a gorgeous woman. He did everything to capture her heart, only for her to shove him away continuously. Scarlett was an abused child and became bullied when she shifted into her wolf. However, she was strong and determined in her decisions. Her long-term infatuation with her stepbrother - the only thing she couldn't resist. Will they succumb to this unacceptable attraction? Will fate unite them? Will they support each other when an old enemy returns? Read to find out... I've read this book more than once and every time it felt like the first! It's a real page-turner and still provoked many emotions, even if I knew what was going to happen.
Her Forbidden Alpha is the story that started it all for me with Moonlight Muse. The title intrigued me, I was curious about
exactly how “forbidden” this would be. Thankfully it is a relationship between steps that didn’t really grow up with each other so, as far as taboo goes, it was acceptable to me, if not to the people around them who see them as siblings.
As I was reading it I couldn’t help but get excited by the naughtiness of their “questionable” relationship. Constantly worrying about their parents’ reactions made the situation more intense.
In my opinion, the mate bond manifesting validated their relationship. It didn’t matter what anyone else thought because their relationship was Goddess-blessed!
I love this book. I bought book 2 in paperback. I have not read it yet cause it so heavy to hold. This is a forbidden love/wolf shifter romance! It follows Scarlet and Elijah who are step siblings. Elijah is the future alpha of his pack and Scarlett’s mother left her and her sisters father and became the Luna of Elijah’s pack when she mated with his father. Elijah never saw Scarlet as a sister. They fight their attraction to eachother. Scarlett’s father is not a good alpha at all and He is hunting for Scarlett because she is stronger than him. Elijah stays by her side and would do anything to keep her safe. This book is amazing and If you like forbidden romance Tropes and shifter book. This could be a book for you
At first I thought this was just another erotica book but it turned out to be so much more. It was worth every cent! It has a really good plot and the writing is superb. I had to check what I thought were grammatical errors which turned out to be a rule I had long forgotten. Well written and well edited. The plot is so gripping I haven't got out of bed and it's nearly 1pm lol. It's refreshing to read a book with a bit of everything in it. I had no intention of reading the set but I'm addicted so I'll be buying the next! Its a novel with a love story, mystery, horror, defeat and victory. Everything a good book needs. I thoroughly recommend it.
I got a special edition of this from my monthly subscription to the Butterfly Book Club and oh my gosh, it is stunning!!
It was so strange to read a shifter book set in England! Very surreal reading about shops I go to and areas I’ve visited.
I loved the chemistry and relationship development between Elijah and Scarlett. It was obvious from the start they were meant to be together.
I loved Amelia! She was sassy and amazing.
There was also a darker element to this which was quite hard to read in parts! And not just from the bad guy! There were horrid actions from pack members which was dealt with very satisfactorily.
The only thing I struggled with was the writing style. It was true 3rd person but I don’t think it worked very well as it was a bit too explanatory. Part of it felt like it was explained a bit too much for non-UK readers. However. I believe the author is rewriting it to 1st person so I will 100% get that when it comes out as the story itself was brilliant. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Scarlet and Elijah are stepsiblings who by law are not supposed to marry each other. In the main the impossible becomes possible, the Ferry Goddess blesses them by being star crossed lovers (TRUE MATE). Elijah always ridiculed Scarlet every time, when he came to visit for the holidays. Indi was always favored by Elijah and never thought that one day she will fall in love with the bigger sister. The old alpha has marked the mother of both girls however fate is not on their side. I’m left hanging about the child who is deformed and belongs to the two powerful alphas.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Goodfm)
Stepchildren attracted to each other, but are they true fated mates? It's a story of the worst of nature against the best of nature. A father's mistreatment of his daughter, whilst another father's love for the step-daughter that his second chance bride had brought with her. How could his natural son find his step-sister attractive? Wasn't it incest? Read the book, you'll find these questions answered and more!
Author Moonlight Muse is a painter with worlds. She can create extremely detailed and unique worlds that seem so real you can image yourself being there. This book specifically is book one of an ongoing series, which is by far the best and my favorite book series ever. (And I read a lot). She keeps you on your toes in this one while we follow Scarlett and Elijah, werewolves, through their forbidden romance and their life afterward. Anyone who likes to read will absolutely fall in love with this book and of course our Queen, Moonlight Muse.
While I originally read this story on Goodnovel as it was being serialized, I ordered a special edition paperback through The Butterfly Book Club and it was worth the wait for physical copy of the first book in The Alpha Series.
Elijah and Scarlett are stepsiblings so their pull is forbidden but as soon as they see each other after he returns home, they cannot seem to keep apart. However, Elijah is not the only one who has eyes on her. This story is suspenseful, riveting and action-packed. Loved it!
This book was the first book I read that had me addicted to not only fantasy werewolf stories but to this author. It was well written and Moonlight_Muse captured all the right feels. Has the right amount of spice and the storyline was great. Although it wasnt a POV type of story more of a third person narration type, for the story was so good it didnt matter. The way she wrote each character especially the MMC and MFC and their relationship was amazing. Definitely a great book to read.
This book was everything you want and more when it comes to romance, fantasy and anything having to do with wolf lore. This is the first book of a series that will take you into so many twists and turns. You will be rooting for the hero’s and heroines of this story. The villains are amazing as well and I find myself despising them so much(haha). I can not recommend this book enough, especially if you’re looking for a series that is still ongoing and captivating.
If you don't fall in love with Elijah from the first few pages, I don't know what kind of alpha-male you are looking for. Elijah is everything a women could want wrapped in the sexiest of packages. Scarlett is the Queen he never knew he needed. If you like strong female leads, this one is for you! This tale of "forbidden" love is a page turner. The spice is top notch! I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
This author is amazing I love this book I read some of the other ones in the series before this one I wish I'd read this one first but I'm glad I got to come back and read this one. Just so amazing the writing style the way everything flows it's absolutely a great read you will not regret it make sure you read this one and all of them. I'm currently going to go read the rewrite of this one too and see how good it is.
I got so hooked on this first book by Moonlight Muse that I immediately wanted to gobble up and read the rest of her books.
The storyline is quite unique in a sense that it seems like it’s a forbidden love story but it really isn’t since they’re not related. I love the tension and build up and the unexpected twists and turns of the story.
I love the growth of character of Scarlett and how determined Elijah is.
Am so glad I was able to read Author Muse’s books! I am so hooked!!!!
