Short and simple devotional style book. I'd highly recommend the last 10 chapters in particular in learning the sort of "prayer format" that Daniel Henderson is speaking and teaching about. A very helpful, God-centered, Worship-focused, Scripture-based way for the Christian to pray. And, because it is all of those things, I think we'll find tremendous blessing in it when we follow it personally and in our churches.
While I appreciated how this devotional defined and laid out reasons for, benefits of and ways to practice worship-based prayer, and how that looks different than gratitude or “grocery-list” prayer, the rest of it was relatively unenlightening. Good, but not great. I would give it a solid 2.5 if possible
With the purpose of this book being more devotional style with only 4-5 pages per day for 21 days of reading, it was awesome! There was something everyday that I could think about with prayer. It’s a different prayer model than the common one “ACTS”, but it was really helpful. Good book to help get you thinking about prayer and then doing it daily!
I appreciated this approach, which rings true to the biblical description of prayer and it's purpose in the life of the Church and Individual Christians. I found the first 4-5 days pretty basic and without much benefit, but if you persist past that it's an excellent resource.
