Hi everyone,
This version of 24 HOURS IN PARIS (midnight blue cover) will be in bookstores on May 10th, 2022, and if you previously read the Wattpad version, this is a complete page-one rewrite! My goal with this reboot was to write the rom com I wanted to read, and here's what that means for me:
-A POC lead to reflect my South Asian background (as well as our diverse society!)
-A lead that is in her mid-thirties, because contrary to common belief, single women in books don't simply go extinct after age 30 ;-).
-A dual POV, so we can find out what the guy is thinking and show a little depth from his angle
-A focus on the themes of choices, regret, and true happiness, with a good dose of yearning too (I'm a sucker for yearning)
-I didn't include the kind of wild scenarios or wackiness you sometimes find in chicklit books, because while that is VERY fun and enjoyable, I wanted to focus on the sort of flawed and confused people you may encounter in real life, people who just happen to find themselves in unexpected circumstances. Basically, I wanted it to feel like you're following these characters around for the day and watching their chemistry grow (and maybe swooning a bit?), while getting a tour of Paris. This slice-of-life, dialed down kind of rom-com with a focus on conversations is not the usual fare for this genre and therefore—it may not be for everyone! And that's okay. Alternatively, it may just be what you're looking for! :-) Needlessly to say, it was the sort of story I was passionate about, so that's why I wrote it this way. And so, if you're someone who likes reading books where you feel like you're watching a movie, then 24 HOURS IN PARIS might be for you!

"If the hot lacrosse guy thought she was a weirdo for being emotionally attached to cheese, she wasn't about to change his mind by acting like someone else.To do so would not only be weak,but foolish,because hot guys came and went,but when would she be in Paris again buying unpasteurized cheese?"
An interesting story.However,it's unusual for me to not really like the main character/the narrator and to prefer the 'hot,cocky guy".I don't know why but I just couldn't connect with Mira.The story is interesting but the progression of feelings between the main characters is quite unbelievable,to be honest.Also,for someone who is visiting Paris for the first time,Mira seems to find everything she wants to see quite easy.I literally got lost in the capital city of my country,but maybe that's just me.Also,Celeste&Henri?
I don't know why but I really liked the ending,.
Overall,not so bad.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I tried very hard to connect with Mira and her journey, but I just couldn't find myself engaging with her as our female MC. It's her first time in Paris and everything seems like an easy breezy ride for her. It would've been nice for Moondi to explore various struggles she may encounter, such as different language, diverse culture etc. This would've added more to the otherwise simple and straight forward story and allowed the reader to explore various facets of Mira's personality.
The romance was something I was looking forward to and given Paris is the city of love, it felt like the MC's love story was taking place in an unconvincing manner. It is possible that I went into the story with much higher expectations than what the book ended up giving me.

I’ve been waiting to write this review since the first couple of pages.
This book was not good at all. It was very cringey and childish. I bought it because I like a little rom-com moment, and I thought it would be cute. The main characters acted like they were children throughout the whole book. And not in a “live in the moment” type of way either. THEY WERE 35. By the way they interacted with each other and everyone in this book, you would think that they’ve never experienced any human interaction at all. I constantly had to close the book or just roll my eyes from the second hand embarrassment.
I understand the book take place in Paris, and the architecture and food are going to be important for the setting, but after 20 chapters of just reading about every single food stand/restaurant that the characters
visited, it gets tiring. I mean they were in Paris, it’s supposed to be romantic. I have no problem with food, but there could have been cuter moments between them that didn’t have to revolve around food.
Also, the MMC slept with a waitress in the first couple of chapters, but then after having spent time with the FMC, he realized that he wanted to hang out with her instead of the waitress. You’d think since he’s an adult, he would just tell the waitress that he doesn’t want to go over to her house again when she asked. BUT NO. He continues to go on throughout the day of hanging with the FMC, telling her that the his plans keep on getting pushed back. I know he did it to get her the FMC an exclusive boat ride, but I just found it unfair and rude to the waitress.

Mira is a foodie, a bucket-list planner, and a bookworm, the type of person you would want as your travel companion. She knows Paris like the back of her hand. I like how quirky she is and I like that she's a person of color! Meanwhile, Jake is the complete opposite of him. Jake is not the typical alpha or cocky man. I like how he is so hilarious and has so much personality in him. The banter and dynamic were so much fun to read! I like how the setting is in Paris. And I feel the author's passion for writing this and how she showed us Paris in a single book! I adore her way of writing, especially the way she describes the places and food! It's the food that got me!
The thing that really set this book apart for me was that the romance was mature. Though considering the genre, I had a hard time reading because I don't think the romance was really upfront. An enemies to lovers trope was established given the fact that Mira said she found Jake irritating and annoying. Unfortunately, it was not clearly emphasised. I think it would be best if the enemies to lovers were given a chance to build up. However, the romance was good, there's chemistry, and there's no cheesy, over-the-top romance.
Let's talk about that ending though. I liked how it ended. I thought there would be some kind of twist so they could be with each other, but I like how they just stick with the plan. Overall, I rate my 24 Hours in Paris with four stars! ★

I don't know what's going on, but the ARCs I've been approved for lately haven't been doing it for me. This one was an example of that.
First from a practical standpoint, WHY WAS THE FONT SO SMALL?? I couldn't make it bigger without then having to scroll horizontally, which gave me a headache.
Anyway, on to the book. It was well written, but SUCH slow pacing. I wasn't feeling at all connected to the characters, I REALLY didn't care if they fell in love. But the WORST part was

Thank you to NetGalley and Wattpad books for an arc of this book! I did not like this, its mainly the characters, they are really annoying, I loved the premise but I can’t look past how bad the main characters are.

Thank you, NetGalley and Wattpad Books, for an early copy! I thoroughly enjoyed this RomCom set within a day in Paris.
Mira is incredible - a foodie, bucket list-kind of a travel planner, & a walking Google Map/Wikipedia of Paris. She is weird and only now learning to appreciate and enjoy her own quirks. I respect that she is in her 30s and is still figuring out what makes her happy. Because that does happen, not everyone has their entire life mapped out at 25!
It's rare for me to completely appreciate the smoldering 'cocky' guy in RomComs because there is usually one or two unflattering aspects. But not Jake; he is a jock with a good heart, flawed, and has insecurities (human, duh!). The creative choice to narrate some portions of the story from the guy's pov definitely helped his character.
The romance was good, and the chemistry apparent. Thank s to the author for not being over the top cheesy. It was mature and enjoyable (lately, I have a newfound dislike for YA romance!). The author's original Wattpad version was with Jake & Mira being a couple of college students on a trip to Paris. Now, for the book's publication in May 2022, she has rewritten it as an adult romance. I am happy this is the version I got to read!
Lastly Paris… My God, it's the 3rd protagonist of the story! It's apparent how much the author loves this city! This book is a tourism guide to Paris with a detailed layout of what to eat, where to visit, and how to travel. I took stock of Mira's itinerary for my future Paris travel!

This was an enjoyable read that really made me want to travel to Paris and complete a food & wine centered bucket list! 🇫🇷 I loved the MCs, Mira & Jake and their growth throughout the book. However, there was something missing from the book and I didn't love the ending

2⭐️ Honestly, I get what she was trying to do. But damn, that was a slow fucking burn for nothing. It was more of a where to go in Paris than a storyline. I also didn’t believe they could stay up that long and do that much. Anywho. Don’t really recommend. Just my opinion, might be okay for someone else.

Mira is so used to being in control, so when her flight back to NYC is overbooked, she forced to stay an extra day with her intolerable co-worker, Jake.
An extra day in Paris, for free?! SIGN ME UP!
The next twenty four hours in Paris, exploring (and eating) their way through the city both Mira and Jake realize they have more in common that they initially thought. Could this be the start of something new?
Okay, so I hardly EVER rate books less than 3 stars…I can always find a positive in any book and go off of that – but I was honestly bored to tears while reading this. At the halfway mark, I surely thought things would pick up but unfortunately that was not the case. I was expecting a whirlwind love story in the most romantic city in the world – but I what I got was a lackluster plot with ZERO romance.
I did enjoy the parade of pastries through Paris, but other than that this book was not for me.

Fun summer read, felt like a Mindy Kaling rom-com. While I'm not really interested in the Desi protaganist/White love interest stories (there's just too much of it), I'm looking forward to more of Mira & Jake's story.

The quote here is very misleading alright, there is no other woman. I just liked it. So where do I begin ? I quite liked this book, it was a wonderfully lighthearted read and it was fun too ! The banter and humour between the couple ? Immaculate. Loved it. Living for it. I loved the theme mostly. Paris? sign me up !! Will I be taking this book with me as a tour guide to Paris? Yes, yes I will.
Mira. Disturbed by so called bringing shame to her desi family for not wanting to settle for a marriage without love, goes on a work trip to Paris alongside her annoying colleague, Jake. Mira’s flight back home gets delayed by a day, and so does Jake’s. The two then (begrudgingly, Mira at least) begin a journey of ticking the boxes off of Mira’s Paris bucket list and somewhere along the line, they start fancying each other ;)))
Sooner than later, the two find themselves inseparable but the idea of going back to reality and Jake leaving for his 10.00pm date (a hookup, actually) looms over them. Yeah, that’s also *not* the only dreadful event looming over them.
I was heartbroken that the book ended that way, it wasn’t necessarily bad or a cliffhanger I just felt, unsatisfied. THANKFULLY, the author states that there’s more Mira and Jake to come. I would definitely love to explore the relationship between these too !
Either way, y’all should definitely pick this up ! It’s a fun and cheesy read with banter and humor that also works as a tour guide to Paris. Mira’s detailed lists call out to me, as a fellow list maker (lol). Loved this ! I would’ve loved a lot more action ;))) and interactions between Jake and Mira but I guess I’ll have to wait for the next book.

I was heartbroken that the book ended that way, it wasn’t necessarily bad or a cliffhanger I just felt, unsatisfied. THANKFULLY, the author states that there’s more Mira and Jake to come. I would definitely love to explore the relationship between these too !
Either way, y’all should definitely pick this up ! It’s a fun and cheesy read with banter and humor that also works as a tour guide to Paris. Mira’s detailed lists call out to me, as a fellow list maker (lol). Loved this ! I would’ve loved a lot more action ;))) and interactions between Jake and Mira but I guess I’ll have to wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed 24 HOURS IN PARIS. I have such wanderlust, so the book was a perfect read for me right now. Mira and Jake have wonderful chemistry, and I rooted for their relationship from the beginning. This book also made me incredibly hungry (Moondi's food descriptions are vivid and spectacular), so perhaps have some dessert on hand when reading. (A certain macaron dessert described in the book is now on my personal travel bucket list.) I could see this book being adapted into a film, and I'd gladly watch it. The book has it all -- many amusing moments, a gorgeous setting, and two witty and genuinely likable leads. Can't wait to read the next installment!

Mira and Jake her coworker are stuck in Paris for 24 hours, what else is there to do in Paris away from work? Mira decides the time to start marking off some of her bucket lists and since Jake doesn't have much else to do he asks to go along. As they visit different Cafes and many different places they start to learn more and more about one another.
Another one that just wasn't my cup of tea, I couldn't focus on what I was reading it felt like I was just staring at the wall while reading. I also wasn't fond of the characters.

The characters in the book are very likeable. Easy read for the summer. My favorite part was reliving my own experiences in Paris through the wonderful walking tour weaved throughout the story.

while this book is a thoroughly enjoyable read, the ending felt very abrupt and left a lot to be desired. it's a fun, cute read but i wish the conclusion was more conclusive if that makes sense.

Enjoyable rom-com about business colleagues having to remain in Paris for another 24 hours. Descriptions of sights and foods are well done.

Very cute and heartwarming! It took me a long time to finish it because I was in a reading slump, but I loved it nevertheless.
The only thing that kinda annoyed me is that we didn’t really get a backstory about Dev. I want to know more about their relationship!!!! Hoping for more details in the second book, and can’t wait to hear more about Jake and Mira!

Full disclosure before we get rolling: I’ve known Romi Moondi/her work for over a decade, having read her indie books and helped plan an event that she was a featured author at back in 2013. I was so thrilled that she was finally being traditionally published because I knew she deserved it. Therefore, I was pretty pumped to read 24 Hours in Paris. I say this to explain there was a bit of bias and a whole lot of really high expectations going into reading this new rom com. While I can’t say that I loooved 24 Hours in Paris, I can say that it was funny, entertaining, and enjoyable.
One thing you must know about Moondi is that she is funny. I found myself laughing throughout this story and I just love how clever Moondi is and that, by extension, her characters are whip smart too. That was probably my favourite thing about both Mira and this book. Too many rom coms these days are light on the “com” – but not Moondi’s novel. (In fact, you might even argue it’s light on the “rom”.) I wish I had noted some of the particularly humorous quotes but, alas, I was enjoying my reading experience too much to stop and write anything down or take pictures! You’ll just have to read it to see what I mean!
A few other reviewers have noted something that I think bothered me but I wasn’t able to put my finger on exactly what it was. Mira had never been to Paris and yet moved around the city extremely effectively. Would it really have been that easy for her? It’s not a small city but I can’t recall a single moment where she was even remotely lost or struggling with the city. Other than, of course, the initial hullaballoo that led her to being “stuck” in the city for an extra day. And I know a lot of people in Paris speak English but Mira didn’t seem to have many language barrier issues at all either. It just didn’t ring very true to me and must have stuck with me more than I realized.
What 24 Hours in Paris does really well is inspire strong wanderlust. My goodness, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to travel to Paris more than when I was reading Moondi’s novel. There were a few places I recognized as I read the book (recognized based almost entirely on other books and a few movies that I’ve watched based in the city) as well as several new spots that I’d love to visit someday. This part of the story was a balm during a time where travel has been really limited.
24 Hours in Paris isn’t just a romantic comedy. Romi Moondi’s novel is also a love letter to Paris. This is a book to read if you enjoy armchair traveling and characters who are funny and smart and may or may not fall in love by the time you get to the last page.

Mira is a mood. Her snark hit so good! She’s on a business trip in Paris- a city she has basically had dream-board for for years- and yet she’s stuck going to tourist trap restaurants with her awful co-workers. So yeah, she’s salty. And not to mention she’s avoiding an arranged marriage as well. After a series of annoyances (I personally have been stuck in both Paris and in Italy due to strikes and/or broken trains, so I really felt for our heroine) she’s stuck in Paris for an additional 24 hours, on a super tight budget annnnnddddd stuck with her office nemesis, Jake. Mira is on a mission to strike out her Paris bucket list. I feel this deeply girl. I too am a compulsive planner/dreamer. She not only will have a place in mind, she knows the history of said place, as well as trivial information. Hi, it’s me. Mira would be my dream travel companion. And if I’m honest- we aren’t many peoples dream travel companions. But what a dream Jake is to so cooly and easily go along and LISTEN to Mira’s chatter. It’s subtle, but Jake is dreamy little by little. I mean, he’s charming about her sniffing old books in a Parisian bookshop for goodness sake! *le sigh*
This sweet little book really exceeded my expectations! It was really relatable with all the right cheesy romance you want in a rom-com. And I was happy to see a little author’s note mentioning how Mira and Jake’s story isn’t over yet….

24 Hours in Paris was a cute read! The two main characters, Jake and Mira, are stuck in Paris together after missing their flight home from a business trip. Mira has a whole bucket list of sights to see and Jake ends up along for the ride.
I did not like Mira at first because she is very negative and rigid, but those do become endearing qualities by the end. Jake is adorable, end of story. They do have good chemistry together too. I also liked the side characters, especially Eloise and Alexandre with their scheming to help get Mira and Jake together.
The plot was sweet, but the idea of going to 24 hours worth of sight, bars, and parties without sleep made me tired. The ending was sweet, but left me wanting more. Hopefully there is more to Jake and Mira's story in another book down the line.
