The Family Wins New Testament Devotional

Rate this book
The purpose of a quiet time or a daily devotion is to intentionally step away from
the distractions in our lives and focus on spiritual matters. one on one with the
Creator.
In order to have a good relationship with somebody, you need to spend time with
That person. Similarly, if you desire a meaningful relationship with God, you must set aside time to spend with Him. A personal quiet time is how this is accomplished.
Choosing to bypass reading the Bible in favor of other methods of spiritual growth
will not lead to maturity or a deep personal relationship with the Lord. The Bible is
unique because its God’s living Word. He reveals himself to us through his Word by means of the Holy Spirit. No other resource has the power to do the same.
So, why don't we read the Bible daily? The answer is quite simple ... Because we
don't want to!
Perhaps John Piper says it best:
"If we wanted to do it, we would. We are driven by desire, and we often don't desire God." If you're not feeling a desire to spend time with God, pray and ask him to give you a hunger for his Word, and he will answer vour
prayer.
The Family Wins New Testament Devotional is designed to help you overcome
excuses and distractions, making it easier for you to encounter God every day.
