*Saved by the Devilish Highlander is a steamy Scottish historical romance novel of 80,000 words (around 400 pages). No cheating, no cliffhangers, lots of steam and a happy ending.
Delphine thought she had made a good match accepting a marriage proposal. She heads North leaving her home for the first time with so much hope for the future. Colt soon shows the true man he is when they get to his Castle. He is cruel and no longer the loving suitor. A clan his has fought with for years clash She try’s to escape from Colt only to be kidnapped by the other leader Bellamy has actually done her a favor she would not have made it to safety. This is where their story begins. She tells herself she won’t be so foolish again to fall for sweet talk from another man. He will have to prove himself to her. Of course Colt is not happy to lose his intended. There are clash’s over her intrigue of how it will all end. I received a arc copy for my honest review I read it in one sitting. If you like these type of books you will e joy it
This book has a cast of strong characters and an interesting storyline, but was marred by the historical inaccuracies, like the lines of the marriage ceremony. There are also quite a few parts where it is confusing as to which character is speaking and needed a re-read to sort it out. In the wait for the siege to begin, Delphine has a line, even though she is actually held hostage inside the castle. I found the story to be predictable in several parts, and this was not up to Maddie's usual standard. The bones are there and it is a shame the inaccuracies tended to overshadow the rich characters making up the tale. This was an ARC I voluntarily read and perhaps the final edit will raise it to the level expected from this author.
She leaves home to marry her betrothed but once he arrived at his castle he changed into a monster she is rescued while trying to escape and falls in love for real There are twists and turns but love and courage wins The characters are determined and courageous The extended epilogue completes the story with happiness This is a steamy story but a very good and well written one
Be careful that your love is pure and true and you have the right person!
Delphine was betrothed to a man who didn’t really love or want her, but was evil and cruel. She found this out when she went to his house. The fearsome Bellamy Murray came and rescued her. Could she love this man, her saviour? Would the evil laird come to get her back? Read this story. It’s exciting to the end!
First Love Gone Wrong: A strongminded Delphine is making life hard for Laird Bellamy who recused her from an evil situation. They will have a rough and exciting road ahead before they do find their happiness. There is lots of unnecessary dialogue throughout which made this a long story. The ending was very frightening along with bravery and the evil villain of the story gets his due reward.
What a terrific story. I just had to stop the book I was reading and start this. Never let down by any story Maddie writes! Loved the characters and storyline so much. I give nothing away so others can just read the book without knowing what the story is about. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜💜😊🥰💜
What a wonderful journey of adventure and love. It’s absolutely amazing and full of adventure and mystery. The characters are very interesting and the story line was amazing. The extended epilogue was wonderful with an excellent happy ending. I highly recommend reading this excellent story.
This is a well written book with strong characters and an exciting story line. The author brings tons of suspense and had me glued to the pages with all the twists and turns along the way. Add in the romance and you have a wonderful historical Scottish Highland romance.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
A beautifully touching story. The tale of Bellamy and Delphine is is a true loves story you'll get carried away just like she was. Don't forget to read the extended epilogue.
This is a wonderful love story with a few twists and turns in it to determine which laird will have her. The one who loves her or the one that merely wants to possess her.
Even though I may be a man, I am amazed at how truly cruel men can be. While this was only a storyline, it is a fair representation of what can happen. Excellent outcome.
What a very complex and complicated read this was. From being a dedicated betrothed to a nasty controlling narcissist. And the clan was the same. But then a siege happened and this story just gets better and develops into such a delightful story.
From one Laird whom she believes is a wonderful man to another whose reputation says he is the devil. Delphine discovers what is perceived is not always the truth.
This novel was poorly written, badly edited, and appears to never have been proofread. There is much better stuff out there in the genre. Don’t waste your time.
