Fragile Vows #3

Value Me: Part III

Hitting rock bottom feels like two broken legs and an empty bank account.
Everyone around me is moving on. Even Liz is finding a new beginning with Bancroft, while I’m stuck. Waiting. In limbo.
Until I meet her.
Destiny is dark eyes, bright smiles, and one devastating stipulation—she doesn’t date men who’ve cheated.
I know I shouldn’t play this game, but I’ve never felt like this about anyone.
I have to keep Destiny from finding out about my past and that means becoming a completely different man.
Can Doc finally turn me into the man who can earn a woman’s trust? And what happens if Destiny finds out the truth before I show her that I’ve changed?

VALUE ME: Part III is a gritty romance that explores life after divorce and dealing with the scars of broken trust.

What an amazing series

Not much I can say to any justice to this story. All I can tell you is my spirit relates and I feel peace watching these couples grow with love and trust.
We all need a Doc in our lives, the wisdom of elders begin to take root when you see bits and pieces of your life unfold within the pages.
Can a cheater change their ways? Can they make amends for the pain they’ve caused? Not just to their significant other but to the children who watched and lived through watching their Mother cry, still too young to grasp the reason behind her tears, and not knowing how to make it better.
I hope Patrick and Amir get their relationship on the right track, the pain and anger Amir has is so justified since Patrick broke his Mother Liz, even though she has moved on and married Johnny and found happiness, Amir is showing the scars of betrayal. I hope somewhere in the series this father/son relationship heals as well.

Loved this Book! Liz & Johnny, Patrick & Destiny

WOW! OMG! I read Liz’s story first and then Patrick’s to keep track of one at a time…that’s how my brain works.
SPOILER ALERT
Loved Liz’s story. Cried when WE thought Johnny was cheating. Come to find out he was planning to propose! The wedding and their commitment was beautiful. Nia highlighted on high society and now bigotry can tear it’s ugly head…but Johnny’s mother was a force to be reckoned with.
Patrick - Believe it or not, he’s growing and wanting to be a better man than he was with Liz. He found love with Destiny but she is a straight shutter: no infidelity. When she realized, at Liz’s wedding to Johnny, what he had done during his marriage to Liz, she dropped him. He went back to Doc, making sure he was on the right path. Finally, she decides to have coffee with him.
Maybe there’s a Value Me #4 in the works?

Love happens

Johnny and Liz'd happily ever after comes with lots of highs and lows it's hard to cross the finishline. Liz didn't equate love to happiness and commitment. She had to learn to accept happiness over pain.

Patrick and Destiny were on course that had growth and maturity. Patrick had been so selfish his entire life that only he matter. That attitude lost him everything. But the very person he rejected saved him financially - Liz.
Patrick took everything that a person could take from another.

Liz and Johnny lived, learned and accepted the pain that was in their lives. They recovered and Johnny's strength taught Liz to love herself and him.

Patrick learned, saved Johnny and saved himself.

A must read!!!

Patrick's ready

His Arthur's is one of those people that just has a way with words. I'm surprised that more don't read her. The series his always about growth andchange. Patrick is an arrogant, non repentant serial cheater who's wife leaves him after decades. Here he's broken and broke but is building his life and is caught between returning to his old life and trying to fix the damage he's done to all around him including himself. Liz his wife. Can't let go of the bitterness she feels from putting up with him. Hearing how the characters think and struggle with moving on to better is a good read. There's action, lust, betrayal+

EXCELLENT

This was a work of art! Thank you for diving in to show how true change can occur even when we think there is no possibility of reform!, This series has been a journey filled with turmoil, healing and repair. Nia Arthurs you are wonderful at your craft especially to have me cheering…slightly…for Patrick. And thank you for letting us see Liz achieve wholeness and the peek into what work Johnny had done on himself to reach this point to be with Liz. Thank you!!

True Believer

If Ms. Nia Arthurs (or Doc) could find redeeming qualities in a DAWG like Patrick Wilson and actually make this character likeable and sympathetic, well then, I must consider her the greatest author of all time! I would not have spit on Patrick if he was on fire (and let's face it, he literally was, kind of)! He treated Lizette HORRIBLY! This just goes to show what an excellent writer can do!

Natural Progression

I love the way Liz and Johhny's story continued and the way it intertwined with Patrick and Destiny. I love the way that love can't be denied, not real love that sacrifices and dares, love that stays consistent and requires sacrifice. I feel hope for Pateick because his metamorphosis was the most painful and challenging. Another masterful Arthurs-Sylburn collaboration.

Great read

Enjoyed the entire series. Very riveting, could not put it down.
I would recommend everyone to read this series. It shows the importance of understanding your `roles` as men and women in relationships. In today's society, a lot of blurred lines has removed a lot of teachings that helped the future generation learn from the past. This reminds you of these universal teachings we must pass on.

Great Conclusion

Following Liz and Johnny on their journey was wonderful. Individually and as a couple they learned so much about each other. Their hearts were in the right place and it showed through their love for each other. It was hard to garner any sympathy for Patrick. Hopefully, he has learned what is is to love and respect someone.

As a reader who follows this author on Facebook, I participated in her poll to determine if Patrick deserved to have his own story written. I enthusiastically voted no way. I have to admit, I was very pleased with the way Nia Arthurs was able to tell Patrick's story in a way that was true to the man we met in Value Me I and II. I continue to love reading her stories.

Fear of love

This was a very nice way to conclude both Lizette’s story and Patrick’s. I appreciate the insight into how their troubling experiences are resolved in this story telling and the complexities. Great book, as always.

Whew!

I rarely give out 5 stars but wow. I didn’t think Nia could keep me on the edge of my seat anymore after the second book, but she did. Patrick’s story and growth was truly painful but inspiring. Seeing Liz receive all she had been looking for was heartfelt.

This Author did what she was supposed to do. I can't bring myself to cheer Patrick on but am happy for Liz. Hope Amir isn't too bitter that he can't find his own happiness.

I just finished Part I. I had to jump ahead to this one to make sure Liz and Patrick don’t end up together. I guess everything has two sided but at this point, good riddance to you sir!
