Why oh why did I choose a collection of horror stories written by someone named Creapson? I should have known better. These stories were all a variation on a theme, gore and more gore. Nothing subtle or sophisticated, no build up of tension, just straight in with the blood and guts. Oh, and the book was riddled with typos. This is one for hard core horror fans and that just isn't me.
The stories could have been better, especially the dialogue. Don't get me wrong, not all of the stories were bad, a few were actually pretty good. The typos were horrible! Doesn't anyone proofread these days? In one of the stories there's a dog that starts as a females and on the next page becomes a male, something that a proofreader would have caught.
Good short stories. I read this in a couple of hours. Only complaint is the amount of typos. Typos are a big pet peeve of mine so it may not bother anyone else.
I love horror, whether it is a short story, a novel, or a movie. This book of short stories was average at best. The second story, “TURN AROUND NOW”, was my favorite.
However, I noticed many misspelled words. Most of the time I could deduce what the correct word was based on context, but if this book was proofread by an individual other than the author, the author needs to find a new proofreader.
Finally, the author is named “T.T. Creapson”. Really?
Unfortunately I have to give this book 1 star. Considering it had 14 stories I thought I would give it a chance after reading the first one that wasn’t enjoyable to read, but I should have left it there. This book had quite a lot of spelling errors also. I can’t say I would recommend this book to anyone.
