Rett Gordon, the lead singer and primary songwriter for breakout country stars Rett Gordon and the Last Train Home, has a problem: despite the city of Nashville re-opening after the global pandemic, allowing the band to play sold-out concerts once again, he suffers from writer’s block. Knowing that a new album is necessary as part of their contractual obligations with Giant Records, he needs to get the songs written.
When the record label hires renowned poet Nico St. John to assist with the writing of the band’s fast-tracked sophomore album, Rett is incensed, trusting his own skills and talents as a songwriter. St. John, initially unimpressed with Rett, is a reluctant partner, seeing the job as a temporary stop-over in her career in academia.

Despite their initial averseness, Rett and Nico begin working together – and the sparks of attraction become harder and harder to hide. As they write the album, Rett’s stardom becoming more and more apparent, the band lands a surprise tour with industry superstar Mackenzie Taylor – who may have ulterior motives of her own with Rett.

Fun, flirty and full of heart, All The Right Notes is “the perfect summer romance read.” (Readers' Favorite 5-star review)

I had heard great things about this book but didn’t know what to expect because this author was new to me (in fact, he’s new to the genre).

Let me tell y’all, I’m definitely a fan now!

I haven’t been to a live music event in ages, and it has been even longer since I’ve been to Nashville, but after reading this book, I feel like I’ve accomplished both goals...from the comfort of my couch 😊

I’d also like to applaud Elliott Andrews for tackling a tough issue in his book while still giving us the laughs and HEA we’ve all come to love and expect from these stories. I feel like that’s a tough thing to balance, keeping it light despite the gravity of difficult topics, but he does it seamlessly.

If you’re looking for a quick, fun summer read that will leave you smiling, this is a great one!

All the Right Notes by Elliot Andrews

Have you ever loved a book so much that you needed the physical book as well as the ebook? Well that’s exactly how I feel about this book!!

This story is set in the music scene of Nashville that is reopening post pandemic. Rett is playing sold out concerts with his band again and his record label wants him to release a new album. However, Rett has the dreadful writers block! Nico is a poet brought on to assist Rett with his song writing but they don’t see eye to eye. But soon the attraction between the two of them become harder to hide and sparks are flying!

All the right notes gave me all of the emotions. I absolutely love that it was set in present time and tackling touchy issues but still giving all the the feel good vibes. I highly recommend going to grab this if you don’t have it because you are missing out!!

This is a perfect summer read, a fabulous romantic debut. A music romance with a difference. I could feel the excitement of listening to live music. I loved the connection between Nico and Rett. This was so enjoyable. Romance, music and a serious issue which is dealt with in a sensitive way. The characters were so likeable, I hope there is more. Thank you to Elliott Andrews for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This author is brand new to this genre and what a first book indeed.

🖤 Slow Burn
🖤 Rock Star
🖤 Enemies to Lovers

I’ll be honest, I found it started a bit slow and normally if I feel that way I tend to DNF however I really liked Rett so I kept reading as I thought his character had something to give us. I’m so glad that I made the choice to keep going as once it sped up for me I was hooked, I loved Rett and I loved Nico St John (just need to add I LOVE that name)

The storyline was great and obviously touched on a horrible subject, which was covered really well.

I loved the all of the supporting characters too, and just loved the general overall feel of the book.

I will definitely be back for book number 2.

So many good things to say about this book. The author did such an amazing job with putting the story in our present times without adding in his own views or subtle political jabs which I truly appreciate as a reader. He shares the positivity and makes you feel it as well. I feel like the blurb for this did not do it justice. It has so much more depth than what I thought it would which was a great surprise. The sensitive subject of sexual assault is handled with so much care and dignity for the characters it affects. Romance, friendships, staying true to yourself, fighting for yourself, and being a good human are all part of this story. Grab a drink and a lounge chair because this is a summer MUST-READ!!!!

This is a love story set in the music industry in Nashville. I liked how down to earth the band were, and the main characters were both likeable. Some of the story touches on the serious subject of Me Too, and it is tastefully done. This is a well-written and enjoyable romance book.

Received as an ARC.

So fun! Great characters, insiders view of Nashville and the music world, romantic but with substance too. The character voices are especially well written for a modern romance.
The only downfall was it wasn't longer! I wanted more🤩
I would say this is the perfect summer read!

Many people have a few genres that they consistently read from. That is not me. I am able to bounce from genre to genre and when I do I always remember how much I enjoy that genre. Romance, especially modern romance novels like All the Right Notes, immediately pull me in and remind me how much I love the hopeful feelings you get from these books.

I was not planning to read a romance novel, but when I picked up All the Right Notes I could not put it down. I really appreciated how this book combined the unrealistic aspects of just stumbling into love with the very real aspects of how our past and the baggage we carry impacts relationships and how we trust one another. It was the perfect combination of hopeful and yet heart wrenching.

It is still the season for beach reads and guilty pleasures. This is the perfect book to pick up for the end of the summer and just enjoy falling in love.

*ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

This book is an ode to music itself! It’s full of passion for the creativity and solace that comes with writing music and lyrics—something that many musicians and songwriters aspire to find. It’s a story of finding yourself through music and becoming who you’re meant to be.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s a smooth read and is full of quirky, yet oddly specific nuances that, as a musician, I appreciated very much. I definitely got Nashville (the tv show) vibes while reading, and could picture the backdrop of the city blanketing the story in a homey, southern Music City bliss. The band rapport is calming and humorous, and the friendships are rock solid—it’s a representation of what everyone looks for in a found-family. And while the story deals with life-altering circumstances, it’s a buoyant, uplifting read.

Nico and Rett’s relationship is real. Their meet-cute is more of a meet-shoot, as the characters butt heads right from the get go. But that’s what makes their story all the more enticing. I loved the take-no-shit attitude Nico had with Rett, and how Rett constantly pushed her buttons. But the most beautiful part of their love story is how they grow comfortable with one another, to the point where each character emulates their true self. They accept the vulnerability, and lean on each other for support.

If you’re in the mood for a rockstar romance, or a story set in the beautiful city of Nashville, I definitely recommend picking up this book!

Congratulations, Elliott, on your romance debut!

All the Right Notes transports us to Nashville, where the live music scene is finally reopening post covid. Rett Gordon and his band start to play sold out concerts again, leading to their record label wanting them to record and release a new album - ASAP. The only problem is, Rett has writers block. Enter Nico St John, a poet brought in by the label to assist Rett with his songwriting. Whilst initially not seeing eye to eye, sparks soon fly - but there are some major hurdles for them to overcome.

Reading this book, I really felt like I was transported to the Nashville music scene (and was a little sad that I couldn’t go there!!). This was such an easy, feel good book to read which did touch on some deeper issues. I only wish it was a little longer!

Thanks to @authorelliottandrews for the arc - All the Right Notes is out today!! 🙌🏻

This is one of those stories that we don't really know how much we needed to read something like that, until we read it.

I’ve loved this book right from the blurb. A music romance novel is right up my alley and a must-read for me. I had high expectations and did it deliver! I just can’t praise it enough.

Everett Gordon and his friends have been playing music since college. Now they’re breakout country stars, going back to playing concerts again after the global pandemic that shuttered everything down. Also, they’re now in a big label, which has pushed them back into the studio to record a new album. It’s all a dream come true, except for the fact that Rett, who’s usually the band’s songwriter, is going through a writer’s block. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the record label hires a famous poet, Nico St. John, to help them write their new album, ASAP. That’s not the best of the beginnings for them both, but as time goes by and they come to know each other better, feelings start to change. Rett is the ultimate book boyfriend, but Nicole has some struggles of her own, related to her past. And add to that Mackenzie Taylor, the label Record superstar, taking Rett and the guys on her tour as a support act band, sending them right to the stardom.

The author did a brilliant job on his first romance novel! I really liked how sensitively he tackled an important, difficult subject here and, still, managed to make this a feel-good, uplifting story. In addition, it was so refreshing to read about things going back to how they used to be before this terrible pandemic. It filled my heart with hope. Also, I have to say that, being myself a great U2 fan, I could totally picture the scene in which there’s an album of theirs on, one of those from the nineties. I could listen to it playing in my head. Finally, I may have shed a tear or two in my absolutely favorite part of this book: what happens to Rett when they start playing one of their new songs to the audience.

Just… read this book! Music, true friendship, a cute love story… It sure has all the right notes to touch our hearts.

I’m so grateful to the author for kindly providing me an ARC of the book. And I’m really looking forward to reading more about these characters. Here’s hoping for Clay’s story.

This book had me smiling the majority of the read. Move over, Andrew J. Brandt, I’ve got a new favorite author coming in hot! Although the relationship does move unbelievably fast, that’s what a good fiction novel is all about, right? No time was wasted in getting to where the story was going. The inside look at the music scene was very well done, the conversations seemed like any I could have with a friend who’s also a bachelor musician. That being said, if you find stereotypical bachelor humor more offensive than humorous, this is not the book for you. This is also not the book for a person who can’t handle a few curse words scattered throughout. I’m assuming that the author nailed the male thoughts, being a male, but was surprised at how well the female thoughts represented how I would have felt in the given situations. The author kept it classy when it could have very easily not been done that way, and dealt with multiple tough topics, with much care. Possible trigger warnings, to those who have suffered ectopic pregnancies and/or been taken advantage of by men who used their powerful positions, however, it is a happily ever after novel. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a “clean” romance, there is a tiny bit of description, but it’s far from being filthy. This going to be a book I re-read many times. Fingers crossed for sequels and movies!

First off, this book was fun and flirty to read. A perfect summer book to read sitting by the pool or beach. Based off Nashville vibes, you will feel like you are in the heart of the city. A romantic upbeat story. Music, romantic friendship, strong character development.. all the right notes! Now sitting here waiting for the next story to drop.

I would like to give a big thank you to the author, who very kindly forwarded me a copy of his book, for my Kindle, in return for an honest review.
Right from the very beginning I absolutely loved this book and the authors style of writing kept me wanting to read more.
Not only did I love the two main characters - Rett and Nico but I also enjoyed the supporting characters, especially Gabriella and Clay. I can honestly see more books to come in a wonderful series.
The storyline ticks along at a nice pace with no major twists and turns and I found myself being drawn into the wonderful world of the music business, which I loved.
Towards the end of the book some serious issues are touched upon and it is written really well.
As the whole story comes together it actually gave me the goosebumps as I could feel what all the characters were going through - and getting goosebumps from a book is my measure for a 5 star book, if it can give me goosebumps then it is definitely worthy of a full 5 stars!!
This was a wonderful book and I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end, I can’t wait to find out what happens with the other characters and I will definitely be coming back for more…..

All The Right Notes by Elliott Andrews

I was already so excited after seeing it on the Authors Instagram page so I didn’t waste any time digging in!

It was such a fun, easy to read romance that had me hooked from the get go! I’d recommend it to everyone!

The story is set in Nashville which has never really been a place I’ve thought about visiting but after reading this I’m dying to go! I got sucked into the writing and reading the descriptions made me feel like I was there walking down the same streets or sitting in the same cafes and bars.

Things I loved about this book.

✨Clay! I’m so intrigued about Clay and can’t wait to see if he’ll get his own story!

✨One of the plot lines in this book is sexual harassment experienced by the heroine and her friend and I thought it was well handled and respectful to anyone who ay have been a victim.

✨That it happens in a post pandemic world. It felt like a nice glimpse of what life will be like when we can eventually go to gigs and festivals.

I feel like this is the romance book we all needed after everything we went through the past year.
I loved getting to know Rett and Nico, watching them both overcome struggles they've been secretly facing. Finding that they bring out the better in each other. But also showing that everyone has a past and the best thing to do is move forward. Without giving spoilers, I'll just say that Rett really did bother me at some parts. But I totally forgave him at the end. 😅
Andrews did a wonderful job at helping me feel ALL the emotions. It also gave me a sense of what tends to happen in the music industry and positive outcomes that can come from it. Like the band donating a portion of the proceeds to women's groups for sexual assault victims ♥️

I loved this book and couldn't get enough of Nico and Rett...
But I can't wait to get to know CLAY😍 more in the next book.

I am a sucker for a romance with a musician hero and All the Right Notes did not disappoint! The characters were charming and the story was engaging. While it does deal with sensitive subject matter it is handled in a respectful way. I especially loved reading both Rett and Nico's POV, it added depth to the story and showed who these characters are outside of the romance. The Nashville setting is also a highlight and it was so interesting to really delve into what the music scene is like. The story also takes place post pandemic and it was refreshing to see it depicted in a story.

AND CLAY! I loved Clay and I am so excited to read his story.

All in all, a great romance and now I'm just going to sit here patiently and wait for book 2.

Fine and enjoyable but not one of my favourites. The plot was excellent but it lacked the emotional intensity I look for in romance novels. I wanted more angst, more yearning, more feelings. The sexual attraction felt a bit bland.
