From bestselling author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp, comes a steamy, marriage of convenience romantic suspense...

Reed Lockhard loves his single life. Even after joining Covington Security, he’s still known as the viral sensation, San Francisco’s Hot Cop. His nights are never lonely, and the gorgeous redhead who catches his eye from across the bar promises an unforgettable one.

And waking up, covered in blood, with a ring on his left hand would certainly be a night to remember—only Reed can’t remember a single thing.

Callie Mayes doesn’t remember much, but with her sister missing and a cop dead, the stranger she married is the only man who can help her. Unfortunately, the handsome security agent is one piece of evidence away from being thrown in jail. Until they can uncover more about the night that brought them together, the longer they stay married, the safer they’ll both be.

As the massive investigation narrows, Reed and Callie have to work together to uncover the truth. As facts begin to unfold, so does their relationship, and Reed finds himself falling for his unexpected wife.

But as Callie begins to remember things about that night, she has no choice but to tell him. And when she does, love will make Reed question everything he’s always believed.

Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.

When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

This was an interesting take on a marriage of convenience style book. It was more of a marriage in Vegas and the two MCs woke up married but also covered in blood. They were both drugged and have no idea what happened. A cop was killed and Callie's sister was missing. So there's a little mystery involved too.

I'll be honest - I was more interested in the mystery side of the story. At first, I was all about the feelings they had blooming for each other, but the chemistry just wasn't there for me. There was wayyy too many "my wife"s thrown in. After a while it just felt cringy to hear them be all "my wife" and he would make her say husband as she came - CRINGEEE.

The mystery side was intriguing but I did guess who the killer was from the beginning of the story - I just held on to see if I was right. I also wanted to see how all of it fit together so it kept me reading.

Overall, it was okay. If you want a little mystery with a little spice then give it a try. I will say I am interested in the motorcycle gang which I found out is a series the author is working on. So I will check that out to see if that one is any good once it releases.

Believed is the 7th installment in the Covington Security Series and as usual, it does not disappoint.

Reed, who is a self-imposed playboy bachelor for life, sees Callie at a club one night and is instantly drawn to her. He notices that she seems “off” and when he sees her arguing with her date, he follows them outside. He almost immediately blacks out. When they wake up in the morning, Callie and Reed notice that they are in the middle of what looks like a crime scene. But more than that, they wake up married. Neither of them has any recollection of what happened after their brief interaction in the bar. Once they turn on the TV, they find out that Callie’s date, who is a cop that she was meeting to discuss her missing sister’s case, has been found dead. Were Reed and Callie involved in the murder? Will they ever know the truth if their memories don’t come back?

I felt like this book was different than the other Covington Security books. We didn’t see much of the actual security business – we were more drawn to the two different cases at hand – the cops murder and Callie’s missing sister. There was also the parts where Reed and Callie felt this chemistry that they didn’t know if they should act on. So there was a lot going on, but it just worked.

I was satisfied with the ending of the book, but like always, I wanted more! I can’t wait to read Rorik’s story as he has been the biggest mystery yet.

1.5⭐🧽🧹Here we go again with a commitment phobic playboy H and a "I'm ready on a platter for you, plz f*** me" "no one made me orgasm except you" desperate h. 🙄
🧽🧹Why the heck she's not giving back his ring? He told you it's his mother's so obviously it's valuable to him and he didn't intend to get married to you. So anyone would give him back the ring in that situation. She's desperately trying to be his wife ffs.
🧽🧹I don't trust Vic. Not a bit. And yeah Callie is turning into more of a doormat.
🧽🧹Why is Callie not mentioning her memories? It would help so much for the investigation. This book is frustrating the heck out of me!
🧽🧹I think I'm constantly irritated because I don't understand how Reed leaving Callie makes her safe. And my god Callie is so dumb.
🧽🧹Callie is clinging to Reed like he'll escape the second she let him out of her sight. That much doubtful he made her.
🧽🧹End thought - Blah.

Another fab read by this author!

"My problem was that I was incredibly, irrevocably, and recklessly attracted to my wife."

Reed Lockhard revels in his 'San Francisco's hot cop' label. His family history means that he's not looking for commitment and he's happy to play the field. All that changes when he's captivated by a beautiful stranger and wakes up the next morning married to her, with no memory of how or why it happened. Oh, and let's not forget his bloodied clothes in the bathroom and the murder of a cop on the news.

"The only thing that would send this alternate reality over the top would be if I started to fall for my husband. Which wasn't going to happen."

All Callie Mayes wanted to do was find her missing sister. When she wakes up to find she's married to Reed, even though he's a complete stranger to her, she instinctively knows that she can trust him. Hiding out in Carmel Cove with him, living at his apartment, the relationship she is gradually building with him, all fan the flames of attraction, as they slowly start to piece together exactly what happened on the night they met.

"We ached for each other's touch as much as we fought to avoid it."

Loved this story so much! It was so steamy and intense, with an excellent plot. Reed is a good guy through and through, always striving to escape the long shadow cast by his father, and be the best person he can be. I thrilled at his attraction to Callie and how hard he tried to keep her at arm's length, but his possessiveness got the better of him! This author really knows how to build the sexual tension between her characters. SO. HOT!! Callie was a solid character. She was strong, brave and assertive when she needed to be, and I adored the calm she provided for Reed's rioting thoughts and feelings about his situation. I loved seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones that will hopefully get stories, too.

Wow this book blew me away! So raw, emotional, and full of chemistry and heat! Our hero Reed is a conundrum as he's know for being the social media darling as "Hot Cop" but he's very much more than that. He's built up walls sky high to protect himself and others from his childhood trauma. He uses the hot Cop to impress ladies for nothing more than one night of passion, until he meets Callie and his life is in one night changes his whole world. Callie is out badass, independent, loyal as hell heroine. And he red hair and and fiery fight for those she loves captivates our man Reed with one look.

This book is about overcoming huge hurdles, having faith in those you love and realizing that sometimes love is the most selfless and honest thing we have. It is not short or twists, turns and full on drama, and if you've read any of the Covington Security books you'll see some familiar faces too.

Definitely a page turner.

Settled on 4⭐️ because I was thinking 3⭐️ for the couple. Not my favorite couple. But 5⭐️ for the story!
Wow that was fun! Think about the movie The Hangover but it’s a romance. It was so much fun to try and figure out what happened that fateful night that everything changed.
I was hoping for more from this marriage of convenience. This couple didn’t shine for me. While I liked the characters I didn’t think they fit well. Didn’t stop me from devouring this mystery! I read this in 2 days.

I absolutely loved this book, and I am going to give it five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️… BUT I would like to know if I am the only one who guessed who the antagonist is from the very beginning?😂 I cannot tell if it was obvious, or if I’m just really good at predicting what will happen. Thoughts?

I go into these books knowing the one before it was so great and I’m like “how can this one top the last” and every single time I am rewarded with just that. Reed and Callie’s story was perfection! The angst, the fire and spice, the edge of my seat moments, the emotions, all stemming from “protect and serve” and “I do”. I caught on pretty early to what I thought would be how it would all play out with the mystery (as an avid Sharp reader already and how previous books read) but she still managed to throw me off my guard a few times with the reveals of Reed’s past and what all he thought he knew and how it shaped his life, and how his past was intertwined with the present events. I love how the Convington Team is a family unit through and through, no matter if it’s with the OG or with the probies! I loved seeing the interaction with the Sherwood and AT guys knowing some of their stories are coming up made it so much more intriguing. Thick or thin, they all have each other’s 6 and in the case of Reed and Callie, for better or for worse. The way love at first sight can be real, whether or not they truly realized it until it seemed their better was more for worse, but they never stopped truly wanting to be there for one another, to protect, to love, and to understand that it’s ok to put yourself first for once. That it’s ok to want something you never realized you needed until that one person is there for you above all else, to be your someone. Absolutely loved this story and has now taken root as my favorite CS book thus far!.

Reed and Callie

This author knows how to write a plot twist. There were so many secrets and missing pieces in this book it kept me reading so I could find the next piece of the puzzle. It was exciting and filled with sexual tension between Reed and Callie.

Reed and Callie wake up after meeting briefly in a club married, covered in blood, and with a giant hole in their memories. They both remember meeting and being attracted to each other, but after that everything is a blur. When a cop is reported to have been killed at the same night club they met in, they decide to go back to Carmel Cove while hoping their memories return. Reed and the Covington team set out to find Callie’s missing sister and what unravels during their investigation doesn’t help with their memory loss and is filled with evidence that points to Reed as the killer.

As the investigation goes on, Callie and Reed grow closer, both fighting their feelings for different reasons. But when they finally give in, their chemistry is explosive. Both Reed and Callie keep secrets, thinking they’re protecting each other, but when they’re finally revealed, it might be too late. The level of betrayal Reed has to face is overwhelming and it’s only his quick thinking that will get them out of this.

This was a great marriage of convenience, forced proximity, romantic suspense.

Wowers what a remarkable story!
I absolutely love a marraige of covenience story and Reed and Callies is one of the best ones I have read.Because as well as being hot as hades their love story comes with action and mystery, they don't begin their fake relationship positively.
Waking up together they have NO memory of the night before, only now they are married and Reed is covered in blood that isn't hers or his own.
They decide to stay together to solve the confusion of what happened the night before, what happened to them? And whose blood is Reed dowsed in.
Callie soon discovers that she is now married to the cop that she was supposed to meet to discuss how to find her missing sister....Sounds like fate to me.!
Reed doesn't want to be married he is happily single but as he spends more time with Callie and as they work togther to solve the mystry surrounding them. His feelings start to feel more real than fake and vice versa with Callie.
I was totally captivated with this book and on the edge of my seat, hanging onto everyone of Rebecca Sharp's addictive words.I think after reading this book Hot Cops could be my new favourite thing,I Love being in this world and Believed is another Fantastic edition to this series.
Loved it.
Excellent.

“Her words were my strength and sword. My beginning and end. My everything.” - Reed

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god… these two were made for each other. They got married in order to help protect each other in a murder case, however they fell in love in the most extreme way!! Reed knew from the moment he met Callie, there was something about her that he couldn’t quite grasp & eagerly wanted to find out so he followed her into the darkness. Callie didn’t know that talking to Reed in that bar would change her world forever, with him agreeing to help find her sister while promising to love her forever. These two might have not chosen to get married so early but turns out their romance only blossomed more because of it… they loved each other despite the crime they ‘apparently’ committed. Everything about their love story describes true love & how protecting the ones you love turns out to be the best thing in life.

“But I was wrong. It’s not about giving up… I’m not giving up something to protect you. Protecting you is the only thing that matters, Callie. Love isn’t sacrifice, it’s selflessness. It’s knowing who is important, and once you know that, everything else is instinct.” - Reed

It was Ace, then Dante then Rocco took top spot. Now I’m all in for a Covington Calender please!! Make Reed mr January if you would 🤣

Intriguing and delightful this book really does rollercoaster around. A solid read it has a really good underlying story, fab interactions with the wider team as usual and also introduces a biker gang and a tactical team….all in all a rather full plate

Despite this it’s absolutely on point focused on Reed and Callie and their journey, which is a story to behold. Both happily sacrificing their own future happiness for others, Callie to save her sister and Reed to stop his bloodline following his fathers actions, they will learn that it’s not selfish to love, in fact it’s the most selfless thing even where these two are involved

Hot hot hot scenes (hot cop indeed!!) but with much more depth and feeling than I expected. I loved the journey this couple went on, as backwards as it was

Bring me ALL the books asap please, I need to read about these other characters!!.

The Hot Cop is off the market!

This series gets better and better. I loved the last book, but was horrified at the atrocious editing. It read like a rough draft. This time, the editing was a huge improvement, with only a few mistakes.

Reed has long been the eternal bachelor and famed San Francisco Hot Cop. But waking up covered in blood, with a wedding ring on his finger definitely changes things. Neither he nor his new wife Callie remember how they got there, but they’re about to find themselves forced together to figure out where her missing sister is, who killed the cop whose blood is on Reed’s clothes, and why they were drugged. It’s a great ride, as these two find themselves drawn to each other while trying to put the pieces together. I love the side characters, and was so happy to see Izzy’s brothers and the rest of the Sherwood guys involved. It was quite a rollercoaster for Reed in particular, as he found himself in love with the wife he never wanted, and finds that almost everything he knew to be true was a lie. I’m going to need to see an HEA for Reed’s brother for sure!

Waking up with partial amnesia is hard enough. Waking up married AND wondering if you or your new spouse is a murderer is a whole other headache. But that's what happens with Reed and Callie when they wake up together in his hotel room, bloody clothes, and wedding rings on their fingers. All Callie wanted to do was find her missing sister, but now she's front and center in this murder investigation and Reed is her only hope in discovering the truth and finding her sister before one of them ends up in jail for a murder neither one can remember committing.

Believed is yet another well written and engaging entry in Dr. Sharp's Covington Security. Unlike many series, the heroes aren't all carbon copies, each of them has distinct personalities. Often, the series get stale and formulaic, but each one is pretty unique. The twist with the villain took me longer to figure out which I enjoyed as it kept me engaged while reading.

It's not just hot - it's scorching.

Where do I start? I am a huge fan of the Covington series and have been looking forward to Reed's story for a while now. I'm not typically a fan of the marriage of convenience trope, but it's done so well here. The relationship between Reed and Callie feels genuine as they learn more about each other. They are pretty high on my favorite couples list for the series, and I can't wait to see them pop up in future books.

But, the real bread and butter for me is the suspense. I love how Dr. Rebecca Sharp weaves suspense and action into her stories. It's downright exciting to read and always has me on the edge of my seat. No spoilers - but the mystery in this one is some of the best so far. And I love how the events directly affect Reed, Callie and their relationship.

I love this series and they are definitely the thinking woman's romantic suspense as they not only have the drama that you need but there is usually a mystery that needs to be solved and usually a twist you don't see coming and that is exactly what happens in this latest offering in this series

Reed Lockhard may have left the police force but his tag of "Hot Cop" has followed him to Covington Security and he definitely uses his to his advantage for his one night stands as that is all that he wants He has plenty of damage in his past and allows no woman past his walls. That is until he waked up covered in blood next to a woman and discovers that they are married. With the blood belonging to neither of them and Callie been the client he was to meet so that he could help to find her sister They decide to work together to get to the bottom of what is going on and in the process they soon realise that they have feelings for one another but will they last You will have to read to see

Reed is meeting his brother at a sex club, he bought him a membership for his birthday. He sees the redhead enter, she would make an unforgettable night. When later he sees her arguing with a guy and he manhandling her, he starts to follow. Next thing that happens is he is in bed with the same redhead, he has blood on him and she is wearing his mother's ring. Did he actually get married? His clothes are in the bathroom covered in blood, they say a cop was killed last night, the one she was arguing with.

The first call he makes is to his boss and gives him all the details. Callie (redhead) was in the club looking into her sister's disappearance, she was working at the club. The police did not seem to take her seriously. Reed is determined to find out what happened, protect Callie and find her sister. Will the two them remember any of that night or will danger close in first?.

I love Rebecca’s writing. I love the emotions she can evoke and her Covington Security series has been good. Not, in my opinion, her best series, but there are some gems in it. I personally love the first four in the series: Ace, Dex, Dante, and Rocco all made for amazing stories. They last few have not been as amazing, but still delightful to read. Callie and Reed’s story is no different. I liked Reed’s character a lot! But Callie is probably one of my least favorite heroines. She just didn’t really do much. She didn’t seem to have any fire. Again, I have this book five stars because the series is generally great and I love the way she tells stories! This just wasn’t my favorite. But having a least favorite in a pool of amazingness is like having a least favorite chocolate. Chocolate is still wonderful, some is just more wonderful than others.

The plot in this book was so well written. I was guessing right up until the protagonist was revealed. Dr. Rebecca Sharp is a master at character development, the characters have such growth and it is is so natural.

Reed starts out wanting nothing but meaningless one night hook-ups and Callie is so consumed with taking care of her sister that she doesn't have time for anything else. As the two of them navigate the mess they wake up to, the both discover how powerful it is to believe in love.

The plot of this story has twists and turns and in the end, I was shocked to find out who was pulling the strings. And poor Reed - I am so glad Callie was there to pick him up and help him piece it all back together.

Another winner by Dr. Rebecca Sharp! I can't wait for the next one!.

"Believed" was a great book. It had everything a reader like me is looking for, heat, passion, love, action, suspense and a very interesting plot. It kept me on the edge from the very first pages till the end.
As i have mentioned before in other reviews, after having read more than 500 books, what makes them good and interesting, more than the plot itself, is the way they are written and in this case i loved the writing style. Still, the plot was good and making you curious to see what really happened.
This was my first book from the author and definitely i will read more.

Reed and Callie's story was a mystery for a while.
Everything that they endured was shrouded in a cloak of secrecy...until it wasn't. But the betrayal came from someone you would not expect (except I did).

Reed tried to keep in line with his morals and keep things in a safe zone when it came to Callie, but what started out as a slow burn quickly ignited into an inferno. Their chemistry was sizzling and while the way they came to be together may have been a farce, their mutual attraction was not.

I really enjoyed seeing the different series being intertwined. We had the Sherwood MC characters, Covington Security, residents of Carmel Cove as well as Amorous Tactical employees involved with this story, so I'm looking forward to seeing which series we get to see next!

Corruption, deceit, lies, love, new friendships and redemption will keep you reading and turning the pages until the wee hours of the morning.

Interesting storyline 4*
This is a very good multi-genre novel by this author. Not only is it an interesting crime story but it is woven together with a nice romance, with a high-octane steam level. Her description of the characters, as well as her use of language, atmospheric scene descriptions, and soliloquies, establish this author as one to watch out for. Rees and Callie wake up from a drug-induced incapacitated state, finding that they are married and covered in blood. The novel has good momentum, for the most part, only becoming a bit slow toward the middle. The close relationship and loyalty of Reece’s friends added to the enjoyment and the storyline. I am more than happy to recommend this novel.

Another great installment of Covington Security. As always it had the thrills and the excitement that can only be described as spectacular.
Reed and Callie are explosive together. They may have lost their memories of what happened to them but they didn’t lose the chemistry that brought the potentially unlikely pair together. Strong willed and loyal Callie had to team up with the HOT cop Reed to find her missing sister and their missing memories. Reed had met his match in the beautiful and stubborn ginger haired Callie. His equal in many ways, she also helped him find a new side to himself through their journey.
The ride was worth the late night hours and lost sleep. Because I was left with a great suspense and an HEA from my new favorite Covington Security couple.

This was a fantastic and highly entertaining story that was filled with so much emotion that it continually pulled and my heartstrings and had me falling head over heels for Reed and Callie.

These two characters take on a thrilling journey filled with danger, drama, secrets, mystery and some very deliciously steamy moments. Their unique and crazy beginning was very entertaining and had me riveted to my seat waiting to see what was going to happen from this point forward.

Callie and Reed may have had a wild and unthinkable introduction to each other but there was an instant pull with underlying desire between them. And boy was their chemistry explosive!! I loved these two together, they just had to figure out what the hell was going on before they can get any kind of happy ever after.

Another really well written story that kept me in suspense the whole way through.

Loved this suspenseful and passionate journey for Reed and Callie. Waking up married with no memory of how that happened but also being covered in blood sparks a fabulous mystery. Since they are married, they stay together to try and unravel this crazy mystery. But they also need to find Callie’s sister, Kendall. The twists and turns for this story are incredible and kept me on my toes. This duo has great chemistry but Reed doesn’t believe he is a long-term relationship guy because of his father’s legacy. For Reed, it drives so many of his decisions and is the barrier he uses with Callie. Callie is patient and gives Reed the quiet strength he needs as he has to face the demons from his past as they work on solving the mystery of the night they got married. I loved every crazy intense moment. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Callie knows that something has happened to her sister and she needs answers. Kendall waitressed at a sex club and has gone missing, so she makes plans to meet with authorities. Reed is a confirmed bachelor and is at the sex club to meet his brother for his birthday. He spots Callie and knows she's right for him, even though the single life is what he wants. When the two of them wake up in the morning in a room they don't recognize, covered in blood that isn't theirs, it was just the beginning of the surprises because they're married. When they have no memories of the previous night, their blood is analyzed and found to have been poisoned with a new drug that is extremely dangerous. This story is part love and part mystery and a perfect combination of them both. I enjoyed having the rest of the Coventry Security men as characters in the story and can't wait for the next man to fall.

He was simply my someone.
My whole heart.
My husband.

San Fransisco’s hot cop is married, but doesn’t remember how or why.
With his and Callie’s memories a gaping hole, the two stick together to try to uncover the truth of that night and the disappearance of her sister.

The author really keeps you on your toes all the way throughout the book. There is not one time that what I thought was going to happen actually happened! There were so many plot twists and interesting developments, that this was really a book you couldn’t put down.

It’s a story of love, trust, betrayal, and self discovery

As always, LOVED seeing the other Covington guys and their families. Cannot wait to read Rorik’s story and learn more about Kane!!
