There’s a lot a liked and a lot I didn’t like in this book. I’m not a reader and yet I was able to easily ready the 800 page book. It’s an interesting concept, but a lot was missing for me. I don’t like any of the characters, so I didn’t mind when they died (looking at you Jennie), Iver and Thomas were the only characters I cared about and we lost Thomas right in the beginning. All the female characters were either super annoying, or when I started liking them they will either die or go away. What it really bugged me was, they knew they were zombies and they knew how to kill them because they compare to Resident Evil and The Walking Dead all the time, and yet they took over 300 pages to kill the first zombie. I know that at the end there was a reason for it, but a lot annoyances for me came from that. I also wished that there was more to come after the end, for example, what was Iver’s purpose in this whole thing? I was waiting for the stories to meet. Also, what happened to the people in the helicopter? They seemed to have a great bond, but we don’t hear about them ever again. On and all, I really like the way Nick writes, it’s easy to understand, very descriptive, and I can tell he’s very passionate about horror. It may seemed like I complained a lot (and I did) but I enjoyed the journey and I would read another of his books.
