Technology surrounds us. Whether through our smartphones, smartwatches, or computers, we have unlimited information accessible to us every day. The world is literally at our fingertips, with new content being produced each second. But how should Christians engage with technology? Is there a way to use our phones without becoming addicted to them? Is there a way to honor God with our screen time and phone habits? This booklet points to the transforming power of the gospel in all areas of our lives, including our phone time. It provides practical help, tips, workbook pages, and encouragement for how to honor God with our phones. In a society where we spend hours on our phones each day, become equipped and feel challenged to redeem your phone time through this booklet. Grow in the fruits of the spirit, in wisdom, and humility as you seek to honor God with your phone each day.
I thought that there were some really good thoughts and challenges in this book. I did not read it like a 30 day study like it is intended. Instead, I just read through it like a normal book. That being said, there may be a time when I will go back through it and actually answer all of the questions and treat it more like a study instead of a quick read thru.
Pretty good. I enjoyed the questions at the end of each day. The format of how to use this book didn't make any sense though. I thought the whole 30 says you were supposed to be disengaging from your phone, but the first 5 days are "prep" days, and then they want you to outline a "plan" on day 8. There's a 30 day tracker for weekly, monthly and daily habits/tasks but there's no suggestion on how to use it or even a mention of it in the text. So that was a little confusing. Overall a very forward and current study that I believe anyone using a phone but who loves Christ should read.
I have a genuine appreciation for the Daily Grace Co. In January, I made the decision to delve into their devotional and take on the 30-day challenge. What stood out to me the most was the incorporation of goal tracking, monitoring phone usage, and fostering accountability. This aspect significantly heightened my awareness of daily habits. The booklet, overall, is exceptionally well-crafted and practical. Highly commendable!
Helpful in showing us how to shift the usage of our phones from mindless scrolling to getting closer with God and loving others. The study focuses on the good of phones as well as the bad. It doesn’t just say “don’t do…” it gives way that you can use your phone in a way that glorifies God and ways to use it to benefit your friends and family. The goal trackers and questions at the end of each day help keep you accountable through the study.
I wasn’t expecting anything great with this one but I was proved wrong. It really got to the heart of the problem and gave me solid ground to build on moving forward. I literally wrote all over it and carry it around like a weapon. It contains deep Christian truths that can help us win the battle with our phones if we choose to use them.
A great study done by the Daily Grace Co. I learned great habits to keep my phone use more mission minded and focused my thoughts on an eternal perspective. When we are aligned with a strong eternal perspective our phones have less power and hold over us. I highly recommend this study to anyone who uses up their screen time a lot or is feeling overwhelmed and tired by technology.
There were definitely some helpful things in this devotional, helped further shift my perspective of my phone and honoring God with it. Some things seemed surface level/basic and I wish we could’ve gone more in depth, but good for what it is!!
This was a very eye opening look at my phone usage and it was also very helpful in making some changes. I would recommend this to anyone who struggles with phone overuse.
This book though had some helpful tips was completely void of scripture. Like literally no Bible scripture references in the entire book besides at the very beginning.
I wanted to complete the 30 day challenge in 30 days but it unfortunately took me over a year to finish. This devotional from the Daily Grace Co. changed my perspective on my phone. our phones are a TOOL! Phones are not inherently bad but when we endlessly scroll, this can lead us away from God. I learned new habits I can cultivate to have a better relationship with the Lord and my phone.
I wish the devotional had more Scripture but a lot of it was reflection and tips to help be more present.
