This is a follow-up short story to Checking It Twice. It features a toaster-oven romance with a one-night stand. This holiday story stars Sacha's sister Alexis (who marries Todd in Checking It Twice, A LOT has changed).
Lucy Bexley grew up in Michigan. Her favorite lake is Erie and her favorite Dunes are Sleeping Bear. She started reading romance novels in 2019 and hasn’t been able to put them down since. She fell in love with stories featuring queer women getting their happily ever afters. Lucy lives in Boston with her partner, dog, two cats, and eleven bookcases. She’s a fan of terrible jokes, seltzer, MarioKart, and silence.
Very fun short story (16 pages). This is a bonus story from the book Checking It Twice. And features the sister of the MC of that book. The sister banter is a delight. Absolutely going adding the main book to my TBR pile. This has been available for a while but I got it from the author via Jae’s Christmas Advent calendar.
A newly divorced woman, another woman who desperately needs a date to get her annoying ex to back off and what will happen as they try to figure it out. A short, sweet story and quite fun. I especially enjoyed the effortless trans rep in the cast!
A cute addition to Checking It Twice. It was a little too short for my preference, but you could tell the two leads were interested in one another. I also appreciated that, while short, it still made sure to illustrate a not so perfect first time.
4 stars. Good for Alexis. I didn't like Todd in the main book and thought he was a jackass so this was a great surprise. She's going through a divorce from him and meets a woman on a night out and gets to explore her sexuality. It's incredibly short but I really liked it.
A little bit of an extremely entertaining and freeing scenario for everyone stagnated in life. Alexis has found the way. Reading it (repeatedly) is half the solution. Huge pros: the short story is generously spiced up with love and positive vibes, so, “Sparks fly” for the greater good. Literally the most hilarious short story i've ever read! Loved the sisterly banter, plus a very smart combo between reality and dramatization.
Such a cute, stress free reading. I'm so glad Alexis lost some weight after dropping that dead weight of a husband!
I hope we get to see if things progress with Sydney or if she'll be just the rebound, but not in a bad way. I hope it's the former, I stuck for this kind of romance
