About the author

Mary commutes between her dream home near the Mark Twain national forest in Missouri and her current residence in Iowa. She lives with a menagerie of animals including an opinionated horse and a cat who was a dog in past life. When not writing spicy tales of erotic romance, she enjoys writing science fiction and fantasy, spending time with her horse, and enjoying the outdoors. Lucky for her, her partner (hero) shares these same passions, and usually both of them can be found in their respective dens writing.

And it’s not far from the truth. Mary began writing in high school after she discovered Silhouette Desire romance novels and realized that she wanted to be the one to write stories that carried readers away from their oh-so-boring lives. She has a deep appreciation and love of the natural, the spirtual, and the metaphysical, which has led to her running Jupiter Gardens and writing for new age and pagan magazines. She is attuned to Reiki II and reads tarot cards.

Right now her household includes six cats, ranging in age from less than six months (Tenzin, former feral kitten) to seventeen years (Tigger, diabetic kitty), her horse, two parrots, a finch flight, a geriatric parakeet flight, and her partner, the hero of her own personal romance story.

Her favorite television shows are Torchwood, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dr. Who (new), Battlestar Galactica (new), Babylon 5, Farscape, and Sex in the City. Her favorite movies are Spaceballs, The Cutting Edge, Serenity, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, the LoTR trilogy, and probably a few others she’s forgetting. Her musical tastes range from Enya, Clannad, David Arkenstone, David & Steve Gordon, Scott McDonald, and AfroCelt Sound System to Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, and others.

Mary Winter has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Angelica and Taver. Taver is on his way home and he sees a splash of red off to the side of him. He goes to look and sees an SUV wrecked. He hopes that no one is inside the vehicle. When he checks the vehicle, he sees a woman slumped over the steering wheel and she is out cold. He takes her back to his cabin and puts her in his bed to get her warm. He knows the fastest way to get someone warm is through body heat. He takes her clothes off and then his and gets in bed pulling her up to his body. When Angelica wakes up, she doesn't know where she is but then she remembers the accident. She tries to move but feels something holding her down. She looks and sees a man in bed with her. She feels an instant attraction to him. She is looking at him when Taver wakes up and he said to her "You're awake?" He is attracted to her and they end up sleeping together without knowing each other's name. After they are done, Taver tells her his name and she tells him hers. He asked her "What are you doing driving in a snowstorm? She tells him that she was on her way to her ranch. She said that she had bought the Matthew's ranch. Taver knows he should tell her that it is in bad shape but he doesn't. As they spend more time with each other the stronger their feeling get. Finally, the snow has stopped and Angelica can get her SUV out of the ditch and go check on her ranch. She has her horses coming in soon. Taver tells her that the Matthew's didn't leave the place in good condition. She tells him that she can park her RV there and do the work herself. He tells her that the last time he went by there the house didn't have a roof on it. Angelica gets mad that he is just now telling her this. She stomps into the bedroom and slams the door shut.
Will Angelica forgive Taver when he explains why he didn't tell her?
Will she stay with Taver?
This was a wonderful and fast read and I would recommend it to anyone.

Taver James is still reeling from the loss of his sister, who passed away in a car accident 4 years ago. Taver comes upon a wreck in a snowstorm much like the one that his sister was involved in. He finds and rescues the young woman that he finds unconscious in the wrecked SUV.
Angelica Daley is wanting to start fresh after a disastrous relationship. Her love for horses and the need to make changes in her life has brought her to this small town in Montana. The insta-attraction between the two is fiery hot. When Angelica tells Taver about her purchase of the property near him, he decided to keep a secret from her for fear of her leaving. This secret causes a shift in their developing relationship. This story being a novella, it does not give much of a back story but there is enough that one can draw their own conclusions. It is short, hot and spicy with a nice HEA.
An excellent quick read when you want that hot romance novel but don't have a lot of time to spend reading one.

Taver was trying to get home in a blizzard with a horse, when he spotted the rear end of an SUV nose down in a ditch. Years before he had lost his sister to freezing temperatures in a similar accident so he was afraid of what he would find. Angel was inside, not moving and barely breathing, her skin ice cold. He got her out and back to his cabin where he tried to warm her up. The characters are terrific, heartwarming in their actions and dialogue. The storyline builds their relationship over a few days of a blizzard and no communications. A few roadblocks to get past, due to the place she just both next door. Loved their common ground - horses - and their relaxed view of life. Definitely better suited for the country and not big city. Terrific ending.

Taver was just thinking of turning for home when he spot a splash of red and find a car nose down.


Taver James was out on his horse but knew he needed to get home before the storm makes it impossible but as he turns towards home he sees a splash of red and realizes it is a vehicle there. When he gets to it he realizes that it had gone over and was stopped by a fallen tree which had stopped it going further and into the ravine. He manages to get out the beautiful female driver and get her home on his horse. He knows he must get her warm and covers her in blankets and a fur but when she is slow to warm he gets under the covers with her to share his body heat.

I liked this fun, steamy yet sweet read about Angelica who ended up unconscious after her car skidded off the road and into a ditch in a snowstorm and how she is rescued by Taver who takes her back to his cabin to save her. He knows he needs to raise her body temperature and so he does, using the only way he has to hand, his own body heat! Once she wakes the heat sizzles between them. It's a quick insta-love romance which I felt could have been made even more enjoyable if it had been longer, the ending felt rushed to me.

3 1/1 Star Read.....Taver finds his Angel off the snowy, icy road, unconscious after hitting her head. When he gets her back to his cabin, he nurses her back to health and they both act on their attraction to each other. The book is steamy, short, fun read. Mary Winter might be a new to me author but Ill be reading more from her.

This was a fun, sweet and steamy read. Taver finds Angelica unconscious in her car after she skidded off the road and into a ditch. Once he gets her back to his cabin he knows he needs to get her body war and the only way to do that is with body heat. And the heat sizzles between them. Loved this short insta-love romance, but wish it could have been longer.

His sister had died a year ago in a wreck and he was afraid of what he would find. He gets to the car and realizes she is still alive. He rescues her and brings her back to his cabin. When she awakens who rescues who? This is a short steamy romance with a HEA.

He saves a stranger who shows her appreciation in a hot and heavy way. I like the concept that you cam throw caution aside and get down and dirty with a stranger but I felt the ending was rushed and in some ways pointless.

This was such a wonderful love story. I enjoyed it very much. The storyline was spot on and was well executed. You have action, drama and adventure and love all in one book. loved the characters, I enjoyed this book can't wait for their next one. I recommend it.

Taver and Angel have such chemistry, connection and passion, they clicked so quickly and easily. They both have pasts that shape who they are and how they think/behave and have fears, doubts and a little anger to deal with on their road to happiness. The way that they came to meet and get to know each other gave then a bond that wouldn't break and helped them to get to their HEA.
