Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
Tanner is called in to help Blue Steele when she gets hurt hunting for the person who has stolen a special $100 bill with secrets encoded on it. The bill was part of a bank heist and the robber doesn't even know what he has but others do and are after it, both the good guys and some bad guys (and woman). The bad guy, Nick keeps getting away and the manhunt continues. At one point Tanner and Blue are in real trouble when the rest of the Predator Team shows up to help them. Mr. White and Jake Calibur then join into the manhunt for Nick. Exciting read with non-stop action and a great ending. I love when the Predator Team gets together. Their banter is fun and they work well together. Definitely recommend this book.
I’ve read all the ‘Tanner’ books so far and have give them 5* every time. It’s a great series. Not sure what on Earth the author was thinking with this one???? There are huge amount of interesting characters it would be nice to be more involved in a Tanner story. Here it’s all new people. The plot is so boring, dull and unimaginative, I found it hard to keep reading it. The book tells us nothing more about Tanner than we know already from the other books. I strongly advise you skip this book altogether.
Tanner finds himself volunteering to help his friend Blue Steele. She is a federal agent and carries a homeland security badge like Tanner Jake Caliber and Mr. White joined the team and before you know it, they have a major mission that mission is to recover millions of dollars stolen in a bank robbery and finding one $100 bill that contains military secrets of the United States. Get ready for this because that bill is going to travel.
Teamwork, tools, resources and instincts save the day
Enjoyable reading. Great to see the incredible four together. I think it would be interesting to see how the team did together without the technology, weapons, vehicles, etc. provided by Lawson. Wits, abilities & old fashioned sleuthing may make a good story.
Great read good to see the team work together . To track missing money which also contains codes which need recovering due to the content and a threat to the government in the wrong hands . Plenty of killing and planning to finding the note . These books never disappoint read in one sitting . Well done once again Mr Kane .
I loved this book. It took Tanner back to the way he was in the beginning, a good badass! The story was truly a well written one once again and his buddies from his past was with him once again. What I'd really like to see next is a story where he and his brother worked together.
I enjoyed Book 46 as much as Book #1, , Maybe More ?
With such a stellar cast of characters to work with, is it any wonder that each Tanner story has a different flavor and rhythm ? I like Remington Kane's other creations, but the Tanners are a legacy. Can't wait for this month to pass so I can embark on Adventure #47 !
I have read all of the Tanner series, for me this book seemed rushed, too many short side incidents, of the bang bang, dead people Tanner saves the day type thing. There was no need to add the unconnected Bank Robbery, throwing in the kitchen sink just for the sake of it, made it farcical.
In this installment, Tanner and his extended family follow the money. One particular bill is special to several governments, but it fell into the hands of some bad guys who betray each other and have to deal with Team Predator.
Not your typical Tanner book. Better because of the addition of the Predator group. It was good to see the group again. They mesh together very well. Real good story line with lots of twists and complications. Recommended.
It would be nice to continue Tanner and a separate series of Predator. This passed the time smoothly while awaiting new, Tanner, Taken, Calibre and maybe Prey?
Team Predator is back again and hunting bad guys! This is an action-packed, entertaining story with interesting characters & engaging plot line. It was very enjoyable as usual.
This book did not disappoint , when your books pop up as available you can bet it's my next read . the only bad thing is it will be months till I can read another. Keep up the good work
As usual,Remington Kane came through with another good novel. It was an easy read with the cast of characters we ,as readers, have grown to enjoy. Now it’s on to Tanner number 47
This Tanner Adventure begins slower than most of Remington’s episodes but it is as intriguing as all the others when Tanner arrives. All of the Tanner books are fun to read. I love the humanist in these books. Cody adds a second dimension to Tanner.
Unlike the previous books this one took much longer to read. Boring is too strong a word so I will use tedious. Too many main characters to keep track of and a plot that was a tad too convoluted. Won’t stop me from moving on to #47.
The writing, compared to many previous books, was amateurish and juvenile. Just not up to Remington’s normal standards. Need to take a writing break perhaps.
Another interesting read that holds your attention. Very good writing. 5+ Remington Kane makes his books very enjoyable to read. Looking forward to the next one.
I've enjoyed all of the Tanner series. Looking forward to the next thriller. It's amazing that Mr. Kane continues to write such good plots. Keep them coming. Thank you
