Kira Saito is a very creative writer. She develops her characters very well and she gives them insights and emotions. They evolve as the story progresses. The rhythm of the story is filled with high energy and anticipation on what's going to happen next. I liked how not just the characters, but their relationships evolved throughout the book. A beautiful romance with just enough spice and a lot of chemistry. Action and Drama throughout kept me flipping pages and on the edge of my seat.
Truly loved this story and it's cast of characters. It's execution was great and I loved the originality the author brought. I really enjoyed it. I think I went through a whole host of emotions while reading this. I felt like I had an instant connection with the characters and the world. The action, the world building, the characters... it's all very well done.
This book was so good I didn’t want it to end! These characters are so special and amazing and this author knows just how to make this book spectacular! I couldn’t put it down till almost the end because I didn’t want it to end I want and need more. If I got to live in one fantasy world I would choose this one. The author has painted it in such a vivid and fascinating way.
In the way of a series this first book necessarily takes extra time to set the scene and expectations. The reader is given opportunities to explore the characters and scenery which is mostly familiar. The historical potential breaths life into the story and the magical creates enough unknown to follow the author to the next page.
It's so bad, I honestly can't believe all the positive reviews. Friends of the author, maybe? I really tried, but I can't name one positive thing about the book other than that it was free. I usually finish a book in one go and I read a lot, but it took me months to get through this. I had to alternate with other books because I just really needed frequent breaks from this one.
Kira Saito grabs you from the first page of the Called to the very last. Great characters and SUPER HOT men. Action packed and laugh out loud dialogue with plenty of tension and heat. My recommendation is, don’t miss out on this thrill ride of a new series.
Loved reading this adventure! The adventure was really exciting and intriguing! The characters were awesome. Always glad when villians get what is coming to them! Thanks for sharing your adventure!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The plot and premise were intriguing and the author clearly knows her history. However, the ending was so abrupt, the book seem unfinished. Also the many grammar errors and sentence fragments were extremely distracting. I recommend a good editor.
Interesting read about a young woman left all alone searching for who she is. A lost fiance, a ghost or two and the strange bride. Adding anything else would just spoil this escapism.
