Do you often feel like you’ve been dealt a bad hand in life? You crave peace and wish you could get up when the world wants you to give up, but you don’t know how to do it? If this happens frequently, you might be one step away from sinking deep into misery and self-loathing. Or perhaps, you’re already there. Being unhappy is a frame of mind, and your mind is something you have complete control over. No matter what you do, the world will keep throwing challenges at you: difficult co-workers, hard decisions, devastating personal tragedies… You cannot change that. But what you can change is how you respond to it. It’s up to you whether you feel frustrated, depressed, angry, and helpless, or meet those challenges head-on and stop the world from overpowering you. To be able to deal with life on your own terms, you need to know how to protect yourself from enemies of happiness: negative thoughts, low self-esteem, and victim mentality, to name a few. Are you ready to train your mental toughness to perfection?
Valuable read for those seeking direction and support!
This book is a valuable read for those among us seeking guidance on how to meet the challenges life presents in our every day lives. It provides grounded easy to apply principles that will support those needing a bit of help and show you how to strengthen your own armor in thus game called life.
Easy to read and very informative. The author offered many ways to increase one’s confidence and to approach life on your terms! The best and most applicable self help book I have read so far.
The book covers 7 components: 1) Positive Thinking - being mentally prepared for success or positive results 2) Self-Confidence - having trust in oneself 3) Habits - conscious and subconscious repetition, passive and active 4) Vulnerability - acknowledging flaws and imperfections to be honest with oneself 5) Tunnel-Vision Focus - developing situational awareness (being aware of surroundings while focusing on the job at hand) 6) Mental Toughness - a learned skill where the mind is used as a muscle, able to prevent future setbacks due to experience 7) Emotional Resilience - reacting positively and able to cope healthily to stressful situations
The book does not encourage readers to grow tough or hard, but to become self-aware of their emotions and ability to be positive and healthy. The book contains example analogies to explain each component, advice on achieving them, and personal justification.
I don't agree with all the suggestions, such as preparing for success means not being disappointed when experiencing failure. There's a difference between believing in failure and being prepared for failure: one is negative thinking, the other is preparation for both results. Nonetheless, the author opens up and is willing to give advice to help readers get back up after experiencing setbacks. Ultimately, being positive and living a healthy, active life helps with building a protective armour from negative thoughts.
I received a free copy and am leaving a review voluntarily. Thank you to Hidden Gems Books and author.
I would say this is a great book for someone who is lost in their journey in life and needs a guide. For me since I've read book similar to this, this book was more of a refresh for my mind. I need to keep strengthening my mind with time little by little and to keep doing my thing because the direction I'm going in includes the 7 pieces of armor the book talks about, and plan on bettering each one of them. Great book overall really enjoyed it and would recommend.
Awesome book! A lot of great points, self confidence, awareness, self respect, etc. The important aspect is to incorporate them in to your life. Thank you.
