Essence 3: Side Effects

Rate this book
Todd and his brilliant scientist father, Dr. Hank Iverson, have survived being kidnapped and forced to ingest dose after dose of Essence. Now free once more, they discover the side effects of the experiment when Dr. Iverson becomes 'stuck' as a cougar. Ingesting Essence made from his own blood, he is able to retain a semblance of 'human' characteristics. But his body still thinks he is a cougar. To add to their problems, someone has stolen their Essence-making machine with some of Dr. Iverson's Essence still inside and enacted the perfect murder. As him. A murder that causes a painful rift in Todd's circle of friends. Now Dr. Iverson is on the run from the law. Can Todd and his friends heal the break in their friendship in time to prevent Dr. Iverson from going to prison for life for a crime he couldn't possibly have committed? And at the same time, find the people responsible for stealing the machine and using the Essence to commit murder and begin a rash of bank hold-ups reminiscent of the still fresh Zooberies?

About the author

Diane Stringam Tolley

56 books44 followers
Raised on the last of the great old Southern Alberta ranches and trained in journalism, Diane recounts tales of growing up in the bend of the north fork of the Milk River. Author of countless short stories, articles, poems, plays, songs and novels, she brings a wealth of western family ideals to her writing.
Nothing intrigues more than a background story. And nothing is quite as peaceful as reliving the past.
