Musings of a Non-Conformist: Living in the Center of Biblical Tension

Rate this book
The older I get and the more I learn, the greater the disparity of what is certain. That doesn’t mean we can’t know truth. It means that, as the bible says, “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29:29). There is truth God has revealed and promises that he has made that we can tightly hold on to, and they will give us hope and a future. Yet, the secret things will be held in the vault of heaven for eternity. In between the revealed and the secret are the the mysteries, the hidden things that God wants us to search through our creative, and inquisitive minds. Musings of a non-conformist explores the biblical worldveiw through the lens of tension that comes when the Bible teaches two contradictory truths. It begins with stories of our biblical heroes and how they stood out as non-conformists. I hope you enjoy.

About the author

Paul W. Perkins

24 books8 followers
For an author writing is as necessary as breathing. They don't write for money or to court literary fame, but because they believe they have something to say. It matters not that anyone will read or listen, the words must be written, and if in the process someone is blessed -- all the more wonderful

Dr. Perkins has written for a long time, but only recently has sought to publish his work and venture into new genres. He believes in education, finally earning his doctorate at the age of 55. He believes that learning never ends, giving fodder to the imagination and breathing life into the characters on his page. His hope is to continue telling stories for a new generation of readers and aspiring authors.

Dr. Perkins' first novel is "Centurion: From glory to glory", but is not his first book. He has written "Legacy to my sons", "The Lost Shepherd", "The prayer of a transformed life", "The Cost", and a verity of Christian Youth Devotionals.
